are you serious? no offense but that falco needs more improvement. compared to your friends falco, you're not much better from them. sorry, about being blunt, but you need to work more

SHL: Short hop and preform a laser. It's useful for movement and approaches and is a lot of Falco's game (I think, I don't play Falco competively but he is my secondary). The lag of the laser is canceled upon landing, right?
SHFFL:.... lol wut? SHFFL stands for Short Hop Fast Fall L-cancel and is used for aerials. These can increase your skill by so much it's not even funny.
To do this, you short hop (duh) and throw out an aerial, at the peak of your jump you press down to "fast fall" (there is a noticeable difference if you don't) and then press L or R to "L-cancel" and take lag (it depends on the character and the aerial, easily seen with Link's L-canceled dair vs. non L-canceled Dair).
All of this stuff is on the internet some where so go google or youtube advanced techniques next time.

Best idea would be to read some guides.

Good hint: they're usually stickied. Opening your eyes is a useful glitch for finding such guides.
