well ive been absent from the art boards for a while now so lets see what im ranked

Novice.

None of these signatures are particularly attractive and they all have the same primary errors. Effects are all over the renders, especially in the last entry. As a result, depth is nonexistent.

Composition also needs serious work. All of the backgrounds presented are random and eliminate any chance for flow.

Spider-Man should not be in a forest. Second sig from the bottom hurts my eyes.

Low novice.
I don´t like the grunge tags you´re showing, they´re the tipical beginner stuff you shouldn´t bother showcasing. I´ve seen you do better work, you didn´t pick well for your ranking- meaning you need to develop a better eye for what´s your quality work and what´s not. Pop-out tags suck ***, because they´re really cheesy, never come with one to a ranking. DBZ one is just way oversaturated and overcontrasted, just looks like a DBZ character shrouded in white bull****. Ike one is solid novice imo, which saved you from certain death. Ike one could´ve been much better if you didn´t have the cloudy **** over him, but the c4d-ish effect looks nice and compliments Ike nicely. Spider man one is typical low novice work, a teeny weeny bit of potential ruined by terrible afterwork and coloring.

are the biggest of the mistakes I see made on the critique topic and in the sigs here.

Edit: I rather like Doom's spiderman one, its really good colors but the splatters kinda throw me off, it looks like an old time film.

Of course you can get ranked again, just make sure the tags are different. Zolga and other dude, there must be 5 tags at least for a ranking. Any less will be ignored .

Star (also known as asterisk) means you have a nice big letter in your rank, this is positive.

I could care less about whether or not there is a rule about you being able to post your opinions. There are three people currently ranking in this thread and you are not one of them.

On this forum there are many artists just starting to get their bearings. Indeed, they might not be up to your standards. That is why Gflare, Black Waltz, and I are here - to help people.

Obviously, you found the need to come in here and express your artistic authority. For what purpose? Do you go about your day thinking about how incredibly awesome you are on the internet for putting down beginning artists?

Look at your two posts in this thread. You offered no constructive words for any of the artists on how to improve. You flashed your various accounts. Why? For us to stare at in utter amazement?

How in the hell is that a general consensus? In order to have a consensus, multiple people must agree. I don't see many people agreeing with your claims of undeniable superiority. Actually I don't see any at all.

And by the way, don't even think about putting yourself in the same playing field with Marthmaster. He has more class and dignity than you ever will, regardless of GIMP/Photoshop ability.

These are a bit older, dont have that much recent art

ive been doing this for a few months (3-4 not sure)

Novice. Sorta lowish to solid.
One looks major copy pasted, it´s aight if you didn´t copy paste most of it. 2 is a nice start on vectors, but the splatter brushes looks MAJOR weird around the shapes, colors aint bold enough. 3, assuming you used Curly´s tut, isn´t as elaborate as the tut makes you perform, and the brushing still looks sorta weird around the shapes. Render is also weird for vectors with the lighting coming out of his hand and everything. Next one is sorta interesting, but I feel as though you slapped the focal on and didn´t elaborate on it much. All parts of the tag look slapped on. Pokemon one is VERY interesting, though I´m weary of going much further as I´m afraid that you didn´t do much. Nice illusion though, it really looks like the pokemon is on the water, and the reflection was nicely made. I´d say work mostly on your general compo and colors, make them go together. Also, flow and blending might be considered, as you don´t have much fitting of your focals on the tag.

i really thought my newer sigs were better but people were telling me that older work is better.

Sit down with that thread opened up next to your signature document and start putting things down. If your creations end up bad, who cares? Scrap it and start again.

@zolga: Beginner, you still need to understand the basics of composition go read tutorials on deviantart and guildinn. then go to globalsigalliance.com and look at the "Best Sigs Around" topic to understand what makes a good sig.
