Sports games aren't really popular...That's because those two genres are the most popular right now and everyone is trying to be "original" by disliking them.

Oh God yes Hitz was so good.![]()
I think that sums up somebody here.....
And as far as Fifa02, my brother played that a lot, and it seemed like the best one to date. The best HOCKEY game though, had to be

Hockey players being lit on fire, Custom heads, (such as horse, clown, alien). The one sports game besides Mario games I got into, solely because, it was unrealistic.
Unless you're playing one of those old RPGs that try to be "difficult" by hiding information from you like where you're supposed to go next or what you're supposed to be doing.I don't like RPGs. It's nearly impossible to be bad at RPGs (unless you're illiterate and can't read where to go next).
I second this. Pretty much anyone with enough time on their hands can easily blaze through most RPGs. The reach challenge is trying to get everything. In my opinion, 100%ing a rpg is what makes it hard, but meh.
Aha. Ahahaha. Ahaaaaaaaaaaaaa~I'm bad at fighting games (Brawl don't count). I'm a chronic button masher
I personally think that Tales of Symphonia had some of the worse RPG game play out there. The combat required no thought or strategy (hold forward, mash A, and occasionally pause to heal, wins every battle in the game), it had every blandly designed dungeon pulled from every SNES RPG ever, zero character customization and on top of that gave you no hints on what the hell you're supposed to be doing next half the time. Lets not forget that the game needlessly padded itself out by forcing you to do **** that should be limited to side quests.Tales of Symphonia is probably the perfect example of what's wrong with JRPGs. Good (maybe even great) gameplay, literally incomprehensible story. Valkyria Chronicles is another; great gameplay, but the story is so riddled with anime cliches that most people could guess what was going to happen after the first chapter.
I'm really starting to think that it's impossible for an RPG to deliver a compelling (or even coherent) narrative.

Have you tried Persona 3 or Disgaea: Hour of Darkness? And whenever I see an RPG with anime characters on the box I always expect the story to be little more than a pile of anime vomit. I really wish that JRPG writers would stop looking to anime for inspiration, given that 99% of animes continuously reuse the same four plots and the same six characters over and over again. Its really boring when you know exactly whats going to happen and how the characters will react to it.
I've actually wanted to give the Persona games a shot for a while now, but haven't really found the time to hunt one down then play through it.Have you tried Persona 3 or Disgaea: Hour of Darkness?
Mine has two copies, actually. I'm also playing through it now, lol.Well, get it online. I bet you will likely never find it if you try to look at local game stores.
