Video is still up lolThe video has been retired?
If video is down that equates to a dead lock confirm or something like that. What do you mean by that?
Yeah, it's not even above a thousand views right now. That's probably gonna change very soon though.Nah it's still up. Judging by the other videos, not a lot of people watch Gamestop videos.
I knew that. I was just wondering if the video was really retired, which does not seem to be the case.Video is still up lol

Geno's making his mad dash for Fighters Pass 2... just like Banjo did for Fighters Pass 1.Current thread mood:
I think this should be the unofficial theme song for the Geno thread for the past several months and roughly for the next week or soCurrent thread mood:
But that begs the question. Why did she use it in the past tense? The only plausible thing I can see from this is that, if true, this was recorded pre-E3 cancellation when they somehow knew about Geno, and then put on the backburner until recently. If this is a real “accidental leak” I’ll be laughing during the reveal.
You're not wrong. The flood gates of Geno hype have been burst wide open long ago.I think this should be the unofficial theme song for the Geno thread for the past several months and roughly for the next week or so
PRECISELY, my dear boy. Her choice of words imply that the video was intended to come out AFTER a Geno reveal, presumably E3 or something of the like. Which begs the question, where is it?But that begs the question. Why did she use it in the past tense? I'm so sorry. Condolences, love, thoughts and prayers to you, your family and loved ones.So I just heard some bad news. My parents were out shopping earlier and they got a call from my aunt that my uncle just died. Covid took him. I wish this damn virus would disappear.

Hence why it's silly to think they'd take it down.Video is still up lol

It could've been the person who edited the video. I don't know how things work so this is all speculation. But maybe the editor they had for this specific video isn't well versed in Smash and used the Spirit battle footage, thinking that's what she was referring tooIf it was just a poor choice of words on their part, they're likely referring to the Smash 4 Mii costume... but then that begs the question: Why didn't they show footage of the Mii costume itself? They instead showed footage of Geno's Spirit in Ultimate, which doesn't make sense with the wording because, as far as I know, there was barely any reaction to the Spirit, unlike the Mii costume that essentially reinvigorated the Geno fanbase anew.

Do we even know when this was recorded? Sounds weird to record something and then not use it for months but hey, I'm not GameStop's official YouTube channel so I don't know jack ****.It could've been the person who edited the video. I suppose this is plausible. I'm not at all familiar with how these kinds of things work. How many people would be shown this and I'm what kind of setting? Especially now during the pandemic I can't imagine they'd really be able to see people's reactions because they wouldn't be able to be around that many other people though I guess it could have been virtually. Still seems odd but this is a good talking point worth considering. So, when the person in that video said "Everyone freaked out when Geno was announced for Smash", maybe she meant that she saw it and there were others who saw it as well before the Covid-19 thing? Could be wrong.
Tiffany Treadmore, who's leaked dates in the past, was expecting something on the 6th and 14th of this month iirc, so maybe the direct was supposed to be then and then got delayed to the 20th? Or it's nothing lolDo we even know when this was recorded? It probably was recorded recently if I had to guess. Like you said, I don't think they'd have something recorded that far in advanceDo we even know when this was recorded? So guys, don't get too excited because this could easily just be a case of GameStop using a poor choice of words and really bad research on their part. I know the phrase is old at this point but: "Take it with a grain of salt" ... BUT GameStop may have made an oopsie
In one of their game overviews (Those videos they usually play in-store on those little TVs) for Origami King. They spoke about Mario RPG and how it led to Paper Mario as a series... and she says those magic words: "Everyone freaked out when Geno was announced for Smash!"
Since Covid messed everything up, its entirely possible that Geno was supposed to have been revealed by now and these being recorded in advanced with information that was supposed to go out at a certain time and yeah you see where I'm going
But again, the more likely explanation is that they just took the spirit inclusion to mean something more than it was and they just flubbed their research and used poor wording
Still.. it sure is something when even GameStop is talking about our boi
It was *absolutely* recorded pretty recently. They were using this video to promote Paper Mario; they wouldn't have gotten a preview built that far in advance. I'm betting we were supposed to get the Direct either on the 7th or 14th, where Geno was to be unvailed. It probably was recorded recently if I had to guess. I don't think they'd have something recorded that far in advance

That's why the past tense wording is so significant in all of this, I'm just putting it up to poor wording IMO. It could still be Geno next despite all this, but it'd be one hell of a coincidence. It probably was recorded recently if I had to guess. Like you said, I don't think they'd have something recorded that far in advance
I thought we were over the "Mii Costume could be coming back" bulls***, it's not gonna happen he's either getting upgraded to playable or staying as a spirit
