Ok so I just had a galaxy brain idea that should probably be in the social thread but they don’t really acknowledge me all the time so here goes:
So you know how the Mario movie is gonna be based on those Super Nintendo comics?
I always thought the movie should play it safe, and could be the Mario and Luigis first outing with characters like Peach, Bowser, and adventures in general.
Then, after the first move and after they beat bowser, the continuation of the movie would become a tv show, in a similar style of TMNT 2012, where most episodes don’t need to be watched in order, but some arcs would happen that could be confusing if you watched episodes randomly(like a Paper Mario arc, Galaxy arc, or even a Supermariorpg arc!)

...um, anyone else think maybe Waluigi? I have always legitimately thought Waluigi would make a perfect final character because of his sheer demand when he was an Assist Trophy (whether that was more meme or not is irrelevan, he was still requested so much that even Nintendo commented on it). However, I hesitated with Waluigi being Fighter #5 because I don't see how his Spirit Board or Stage would work. As someone who loves the Mario franchise... this honestly stumps me. A lot of small and big Mario characters are already Spirits, and the only real stage I see Waluigi having is Waluigi Pinball... but we already have a few Mario Kart tracks.

But... (and I am not trying to ruffle any feathers), but remember last week when Fatmanonice talked about him being talked about a lot behind the scenes, but no one has come forward about it due to the heated discussions around the guy? ...well, that could be the reason no one is saying anything. And now Vergeben disconfirms ALL of these companies leaving hardly anyone but Nintendo?

...I know people think Waluigi can never make it into Smash, but, I don't know, this seems a little odd to me. I know people will disagree, but based on all of these factors, Waluigi could actually happen (I just don't know how the content coming with him would work).

And now Vergeben specifically backtracked on the upgrades to Spirits and Assist Trophy claim. I'm getting a tad suspicious.

Yeah, so, stuff has happened but not how it was expected for speculation wise with Smash.

GameXplain BTFO the leakers, apparently there's no knowing if the VGA it's the date for FP5 and we're just in expectation for what happens next. Hmm.

Honestly, I'm just waiting at this point until we get an actual confirmation by Nintendo (or Nintendo Versus as that's the official Twitter for stuff with Smash) if we get to see something in the VGA or later.

BTW, with the situation involving the leakers, well, I'll just say: "You reap what you sow".

ok after rereading the post I think I misunderstood what he meant. He said he gave a list of characters and every company/thing on that big deconfirmation list. The source responded by saying none of those characters would get in. He took that to mean everything when after clarifying the source just meant all the character names and didn't comment on the companies and whatnot. Still I'd take everything with a grain of salt.

I highly doubt it myself. Geno is from a third party company after all, and he comes from a completely different part of the Mario franchise from that of Waluigi, so they'd be added for different reasons as well. Really the only thing in common Waluigi and Geno have outside of being Mario characters is that they're heavily requested.
