Just don't press any buttons while its updating the Homebrew browser.

And you can do this manually.

And no, I tested it, seems to work fine.

What's new features does it have? (faster loading would be good)

-widescreen and alpha channel backgrounds possible

Brkirch edits:

Would switching to 1.9.1 or .3 stop my wii from reading Brawl twice? I have 1.9.2 btw.

yes.

it was cut down to a single spin in 1.9.1 because the gecko dev realized it was unnecessary
but it was added in again in 1.9.2 for some reason (maybe just an early version of it, i think a revision might have fixed it)

tl;dr stay at 1.9.1 for maximum plussage

Ok, but at the bottom of my Geckos, it says using ISO 249...would switching do anything about that?

1.9.2 and higher gives me code dumps every time I add something, and then they work after that. D:

Strange... with 1.9.2b & 1.9.3 I always end up with "Exception (DSI) occurred!" then a STACK/CODE Dump. Everything worked well with the previous version I was using.

Edit: I got it working after removing my gameconfig.txt, though now I have the 424 code limit again. Are there ways to bypass that with the newer gekko?

Yeah I guess I had an outdated one? Got the one from the Brawl + site and works just fine now.

Nope. there's another gameconfig.txt that is a lot bigger (like 3x file size), and that's the one you don't want.

but you already solved it so yeah :p
