Play with level 3 computers or training mode.... Much better practice than WiFi, if you are playing it as the game...
I do actually agree with this. But I don't think CPU's really punish you. Unless I missed something. Like they don't shield grab you, gimp you or really try and spot dodge your attacks. It's mostly level 9 that does this. However, level 9 CPU's can give you a bad habit of spamming one attack.

Personally, I just use Wifi to work on prediction and keeping myself fresh when I don't have anyone to play with around. And of course for spamming taunts on Basic Brawl.

I hate playing CPUs. They're so predictable.

While it may be better practice, its laso much less enjoyable. I kinda want enjoy the game too. It IS a game after all.

Holy crap that lag though...

I agree. Ever since wifi was introduced, the only real reason I'm still playing this game is because there are more people to fight. I know I can fight my brother, but sometimes that doesn't end so well and I'd rather not hear other people complain. I'm not saying that he does, I'm saying that I don't like to hear people complain in general. And yes, CPU's are predictable and aren't fun. :/

Lol yeah, GGs. First one I bombed hard. Second was quite close.

But I lost both. Man I cant wait tilll I regain my prime status. Then we're gonna have some kickass matches Chrono!

Wifi may not be much Ref, but it's all I've got. I refuse to sit at home and combo practice on lame CPUs.
Yeah just tell me when you want a rematch! :p

And LOL I agree with the Bolded Text, I'd rather not play with CPUS either.

And to Ref, it seems like Wi-Fi has molested you or something like that D:

^^^ Actually, whether you want to believe it or not, wifi doesn't follow real time. Offline, however, obviously does go by real time and so you play more fluid offline than you do online. Plus the part about lag being involved. You'll probably notice you SD more online, too.

Online you'll hit things that would never be landed offline too. So you end up doing dumb things.... and punished offline..

^Only way to really get rid of that: play non-serious offline matches before any serious ones.

But Ref, what exactly messes you up when you transition from online to offline. I might be missing something because it doesn't affect me as much.

The timing messes you up from Wi-Fi to offline, if lag is present, which is always is, you might not be punished for making mistakes, which will lead to bad habits in offline play... and vice versa, you might not be able to punish your opponents mistakes...

Uffe: you're so lucky to get to play with a good opponent @ home :p

Haha I never said I played him, I just heard from a friend that you and Dryn are brothers. I know of him, and I played with him ONCE on wifi in a FFA... lol

You guys are lucky to get such good practice (against each other) on a regular basis :)

Well, I can't say that it's going to really help me out. His Sheik whooped me last time! He doesn't even use Sheik. :/ But I won with Peach. :p We like to have our occasional Falcon Chronicles and Ganon Battles for fun. XD I think the Falcon Chronicles helped my brother, though. He beat my friend's Link with Falcon tonight and then told him, "Show me your moves," when he won. I'd say you should look for good players. Maybe at school or something.

I do believe wifi helps for practice, but I wouldn't become too reliant on it. What Ref said probably does hold true. Of course he goes to tournaments, so that could be his way of getting better with Ness. I have to thank Earthbound360 for training my Ness months ago. Right now I've been playing Shaky and Chrono_Cross which have good Ness' and I do believe they've helped me learn something.

Oh I never told you guys but the most recent tourney I went to I got 13th out of 42, I could have done better but someone picked a banned stage, and when I asked if it was banned, he said no because some random people told him it was legal. After the match I asked the TOs and they said it was banned. They didn't let me redo my match....

Just out of curiosity, has EB360 ever hit any good tournaments?

It just takes me a few fights to get used to offline/online if I switch, it's not that bad. ^^

Great that EB360 is finally back =D

Not that I know of. If you haven't already, you could bother him with a PM. He's pretty good from the last matches I've had which were so long ago.

Ref, you should just carry a whistle to every tournament you go to and give 'em a "PHWEEEEET! Offsides! Penalty!!!" every time something's out of line. After all, you are the Referee Ref. They would have to listen to you.

Also, I want to see videos of Tyr vs. EB360. Epic showdown, right thurr.

Lol Neon Ness

I have played Tyr a long long time ago, and I usually won, but that was way back, and he doesn't do well on wifi anyways.

I am trying to go to tournaments this year. I really am. Now someone play me before I die of thirst.

And I still want to know whats up with these spinning Nesses and other Mother characters.

And I promise I wont kill you!Im rustier than my first bike which I just found 2 weeks ago in my back yard!

I didn't make up the spinning Ness, but I did bring it here. I first introduced it in this topic.
Sage and Ref's Ness only tourneys *Brackets are up!* *You may now Pm your opponents*

After that, Guassis started to post them. Suddenly everybody else was posting them around! Then xoxokev PMed me and he asked if he could use his colored variation, Hanshin/Bumblebee Ness. I told him that I didn't make the spinning Ness, so he posted it away. Suddenly people saw it and people wanted more colors! >:D So it happened! The end. C: Oh, here's the other topic. MOAR HYPER NESS! woohoo! *UPDATED 12/13/08*

Well there are four of us, I assume.

Someone wanna play with me? They don't have to be Ness dittos, since I play more than one character.

Uhh... I guess I'll play EB360 for now since I played Raph more recently.

Or we could do insane Wifi 2 vs 2s! >=)

I don't hate you. We disagree often on match-ups and I can be a bit of a mean person in general, but I'm being frank and sincere when I say that I don't hate you.

Maybe the two of you should play, or we could do WiFi 2 vs. 2s, lol

I thought were some other Neo, which is why I said "last time we played..."

I just added you and I now have 2 Neo's on my list.

Added both of the above posters. Man when did the Ness boards become so active? I hate it when things are too active. I cant keep up.

There are only three of us, so I guess it's fine if you two play without me... since you two were here first.
