Legend of Zelda First Thread in the new Zelda Board!

So, Zelda Board, it seems I'm the lucky one to be the first to start a thread. I propose that we use this one to discuss how we want to set it up. What key threads need to be made?

So, first off, we'll need a timeline discussion thread. I suggest that Spire III start that one, since it's his drawing and timeline that we most often reference. That way he can edit his picture in himself.

What else do we need? Speculation threads? Favorite game threads? Lay it out here so we don't have an overload of repetitive new thread, or do whatever you want. It's up to you.

I just wanted to be the first to start a thread, and figured this was a good way to start.

Hold on wait what is this I don't even...

A discussion thread on each game, including Spirit Tracks and Zelda Wii (just for speculation, for now), a timeline thread, a thread dedicated to Tingle (mwahaha)...

That's all I have right now.

OH ALSO, a discussion thread on which incarnation of each Big Three (Link, Zelda, Ganondorf) is greatest.

And then a news thread, for announcements about upcoming games and stuff.

I really want to start a Wind Waker discussion thread myself -- but I don't want to jump the gun and do it since I'm not sure what this forum is all about. But it IS my favorite Zelda.. so if it's allowed or anything I'll be willing to start one up.. possibly tonight or tomorrow.

Start it if you want to. Just put the time in to give it a worthy thread head, since it's such a worthy game.

I say go ahead. We don't know the nature of this new beast yet, so try out the thread, but make sure you have quite a bit of substance. It's really easy for a thread about one game (especially a [slightly] aged one) to die quickly. But, I'm sure your love for the game can pump life into it somehow or another. I know there are actually quite a number of things I'd like to say about the game specifically that I just never got around to in the Zelda Thread because of the ongoing chaos and pageturning that would occur over there.

I'm still mind-boggled by the fact that this is all happening.

Obviously.. and since I know the game so much (well, for the most part) I know it deserves that more than anything. I'll probably start it up tomorrow so I'm more awake.

Yes, that's one excitement I have for this forum too Spire. There's not so much disorganization or constant subject changing, you post here and post there and everything's good.

I love smashboards.

Good idea for the sub forum makes sense aswell.

I think we should take it slowly starting from the legend of zelda on NES and work our way up.

Well we could use some ideas I told the admins about like:

- Speculation threads for any of the new Zelda games Nintendo announces
- A timeline discussion thread, to decide what game occurs where in the Legend of Zelda series
- threads based on the music you hear in the Zelda games where you can post your top 10 favorite tracks, or post remixes of songs.
- A thread for members to share their Friend Codes in The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and possibly The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks if wifi play is created for it.
- A thread for members to post speedruns they did in the various Legend of Zelda games.
- A thread for various challenges people have created to take place in for the Legend of Zelda games. For example, the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Uber Challenge

I kinda assumed this forum would take the shape of something like this:

Game threads:
i.e. Ocarina of Time Discussion Thread. Encompasses everything from game-specific character discussion (skull kid to zelda to the sages to bosses). Storyline discussion and speculation/theories. People can ask for help on how to get past a certain area or task, etc...

Zelda Wii Discussion Thread:
Relates specifically to the new zelda game. It will grow with new announcements and releases about the game.

Zelda Spirit Tracks Discussion Thread:
Likewise, but about the DS game.

TimeLine thread:
As it's been done. Covers placement of the games in a timeline, speculation/theories/reasons for games being linked to one another, alternate timeline theories, recurring characters and their roles as connectors of the games (great deku tree, tingle, epona, etc...)

Character Discussion Thread:
I'm not entirely sure about this one. Might have to be split up into:

Main Character Discussion Thread: (Ganondorf, Link, Zelda, the King, Godesses).
Secondary Character Discussion Thread: (Vaati, Zant, Midna, Skull Kid, Navi, etc...)

Other ideas would include:

Music Thread
Art Thread
Cheats Thread.

These of course would all have to be stickied to keep people from repeating similar threads.

Non stickied threads would include general topics like...

Discussing the Mirror of Twilight in ALTTP and TP.

That would be pretty cool, if we could create our own database of Zelda enemies. I'm up for that idea.

I think all of these are great ideas, especially the last two (since I love challenges/speed runs).

That sounds good to me, Mewter. Especially the "Silly Discoveries Thread". 'Cause you know people are going to post really minute and stupid discoveries as whole new threads, and they probably will be something that people already know about anyways.

As I suggested in the Zelda thread itself, maybe it could be a place for random discussion of things not needing their own thread. Either something like that, or just let it go peacefully.
