I think Marth and Roy should be replaced as the games they came from are 'Japan only' games. (Lucky B*******!!!) Maybe Ike with Marth's moveset and Lyn with the Mani Katti and a bow.
Marth and Roy are more popular in western countries than Ike and Lyn, unfortunately. I can see Ike coming in (as a matter of fact, I'm 90% sure Ike will make it), but not Lyn. Sure she's a bit popular in America and Europe, but not nearly as popular as other characters.
Also, isn't the FE stage from FE1-3? That would mean Marth is still in SSB. (And in response to general speculation about the stage: if it was Daein, it would have snow, otherwise, it'd be too different from Daein FE9 fans are used to)

If there is room then add Ephraim. Not Hector as (for me) he was similar to bandits. Strong but stupid and we all know where the bandits ended up! Black Knight would be cool but... He is FAR too solw and just trying to jump would break his back and if he actually managed to get airbourne, he'd break his legs upon landing.
Ephraim seems even more unlikely to me, but I'd love to see him in Brawl. Same thing with Hector. AND the Black Knight as well. If he makes it a character, he should be fast and strong, but would walk/run slowly and have bad jumping abilities. Why? Because he doesn't want to be bothered.

outrunrazgriz said:
Nasir and Ena would be stupidly large and obviously a problem when coming to smaller platforms... ouch! Cavaliers and Paladins?!? Have you even thought about that!!! The attacks would be good but just think about jumping and rolling and hanging off the edge! Pegasus could fly and trying to kick a horse-on-wings off the stage would become a Major problem. Wyvers are so much cooler. (Not the ones off PoR as the riders ride on their necks... that has to be some sort of joke.) But they would have the same problems as Pegasus.

I agree with everything here, except the Nasir/Ena thing. The reason's way too obvious, and has been talked about every time someone suggests Ridley.

outrunrazgriz said:
Magic users are an option but if it is ANYTHING like Zelda then that would suck... They should specialise in long distance attacks and need to stay away from combat as melee moves would be weak. A system like that could work well. Assassins are a good idea but the dagger(s) would mean a poor attack range and assassins sneaking about and teleporting (thingy. I don't know WHAT to call it) would be hard for anyone to follow.

It would be hard to make FE magic users remotely similar to Zelda. There are no spells in FE like hers. Magic users would be nice. But that assassin reasoning doesn't seem very good, in my opinion. Daggers don't have enough range? Heck, in SSB, most characters are unarmed and none of them have range problems. Weapons =/= range, because the programers can do the attacks anyway they like, even make a point blank attack with one of those big-*** swords, if they want to.

I'm 100% sure about this already. This stage is a ticket for Marth to automatically rejoin Smash Bros without taking in consideration the fact that he is the most popular Fire Emblem character ever, or at least, the most recognisable since Smash Bros has sold 6 million worlwide. And it would be stupid having a stage... and not the character who populates it.

The flags show a Black Dragon standing, and it's undoubtly Medeus from FE1-3.
No other FE armies would use a Black Dragon as a crest, since there are only 3 black dragon in the series: Medeus, a ruler; Idoun from FE6, the anonymous fire dragon from FE7 and Rajaion from PoR. Since Medeus was the only one who ruled an actual country and army and not an obscure final boss or a mounting for a ruler, the flag is his.

It's the only "poorly designed" crest in the whole series, because since FE4 all armies' crests has a very intricated design and more Royal Crest flavor.

The Black Dragon flag has sense since Medeus army's most powerful and exclusive units were Wyverns (dragon riders) opossed to the Pegasus of other countries, but Marth managed to recruit many. The ruler of that army was a big, evil and black dragon, and the flag is representing that.

And of course, Daein is a northern country in a perpetual winter, but it could make sense if the castle were placed in Crimea under the Daein flag, which is not since the flags aren't the same.

Sure, let's just shrug off what the magazine says about the castle....May I remind it is the magazine THAT IS SPECIFICALLY MADE BY AND FOR NINTENDO, which means they have the INSIDE SCOOP.

Either way, Ike is a chump, I'd be pissed if he was in and no one else from the english versions were. Very disappointing, guess I'll go with my second choice of Pit. >.<

I've seen many incoherences in official magazines, like saying that Hector was Marth or Eliwood was Roy (Eliwood being Roy's father has a resemblance, but Hector not), and Nintendo can't reveal the nature of that castle because that will surely spoil a character. That is not a Daein Castle anyway, they did like someone else: OMG red and black flag = Most recent Fire Emblem = Daein.

Just compare the two flags:
Daein Crest
SSBB Castle Crest

Don't M-A-T-C-H. At any angle.

He's right.

I'm not going to ignore Ike though, just because I didn't play PoR. Most people say he's a boring character, but he has blue hair, and if you have blue hair, chances are you're on of the stronger lords in the FE universe.

Leafs good, its just that Leaf comes from a game most of the japanese havent played unless they romed it.

And lord Knight, comparing stats from two different game is pointless.. In Sigurds game , you can add+40 to a stat with the right equipment. Hectors all you can add is +5. Ever playeed FE2? the stat cap originally was 40. Making Alm/Celica as the best lords? No ones even mentioned them as the best.

Leif's not good, Leif's terrible. And I know that in FE4 you can boost your stats to ridicoulous heights. I was comparing raw stats. No additions, nothing - and that, you can compare easily.

And I've played every FE (haven't finished FE2 >.>) and I know how you can make any unit cap out all their stats. They aren't said as the best because you do that through manipulation >.> - not to mention it being completly different from every other FE.

So what if his stats are bad?

80% of Lords in FE (hah, I feel like such a nerd) have crap stats until they upgrade, and even then they're not amazing (I know there are exceptions).

Leaf is bad? He's one of the best units of FE4. Promote him and he's even better than Celice (with out that powerful sword).

Leaf is good, Leif sucks. Neither of them will make it in Brawl anyway.

Leaf in FE4 is godly, FE5 he's just good. Leafs growths arent anything to be wowed at, but in FE5 most units have bad growths because you have access to scrolls, same in FE1/3 with orbs, and FE4 with holy blood.

Give Leaf a good scroll and Ambush/Wrath skill and hell be better another Celice.

In FE5 theres no capacity limit, so Leaf can have as many skills as possible.

SO lord knight you mean by GBA FE standards(no scrolls or skills) Leaf would be bad, but in his own game, he has great potential

Leaf is the one from FE4, Leif is the star of FE5.

Anyway, I was playing FE4 the other day, and I got stuck on Chapter 8(I think it's chapter 8....) it was the one where you first meet prince Shanan and he gets the "special" sword. After a certain turn, it scrolls down the enemy castle(when it's about to have the people talk about what to do next against you) but then it freezes. What the hell am I to do?

On-topic= Why are we talking about Leaf anyway? He wasn't popular, he wasn't as good as the other lords, and chances are he won't get in.

Leaf and Leif are the same person, its just different spelling of his name. In FE4, Leafs real good, in CH 7 is when you get him(one where shanan gets the balmunk) but as you see hes at level 1, and needs leveling. So to compensate, in FE5(which takes place between chapter 5-6 of FE4) leafs even weaker, and promotes only to prince, his starting class in FE4...

And FE5 Leaf is extremely popular, just not to the point of getting in smash bros, that was reserved for Sigurd.

And for your problem, either press enter to skip the talking sequence, or remove tha patch from the folder and continue that way either from a save state if your emulator allows it, or from a recent save file(which should be easy since you can save anytime you want in FE4). (Put the patch back in when the sequence is over.)

Heres how Leaf/Celice look in FE5

They had to make it confusing, didn't they?

I don't think it matters how strong characters are. An example is: Eliwood (FE7) and Ephraim (FE8). Eliwood was generally weaker than other units til he gets Durandal and Ephraim was a little stronger than other units and MORE so when he gets Seigmund. And neither stands a good chance as no-one has had a lengthy discussion about them.

Well Leaf may suck in FE 5. After all, that game is a mid-quel of FE 4.

Thanks for the advice Manashima, it worked! I'd +rep you, but seeing as how I +repped you the other day, "You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Manashima again."

WindGuru, Leaf and Leif are the same people as Manashima has pointed out. You meet him in FE4, during the second generation, but he has his own game. He's good in FE4(with the proper leveling) but from what the others have said, he's not so good in FE5.

For those of you who like Eliwood, here is a conversation he had with Lyndis.

Lyn: Eliwood!

Eliwood: Lyndis? Something the matter?

Lyn: I was watching your "swordplay"(outdated, sexual joke) just now. You're quite good. I had NO idea you could handle a sword so well.

Eliwood: I've had my share of practice. Just...I'm not sure how well it will serve me in real battle.

Lyn: Where did you learn that style?

Eliwood: My father taught me the basis. Then, I received some instruction from Marcus. I spar once every two months with Hector, too.

Lyn: Sparring, huh? Interested in a new partner?

Eliwood: Who you? I don't have a problem with that.

Lyn: Just so long as you don't go easy on me. I'm very serious when I spar. Wouldn't want you to get hurt.

Eliwood: Of course, I understand. I'll be ready.

Eliwood is a bisexual pervert, don't believe me? This is support convo C between them.

You have a twisted mind Marshigio  .

Read Lucius/Raven supports for more of that. But how is Eliwood bisexual? A pimp yes (just not in the league of the almighty Sain), but he ain't gay. Ninian/Eliwood is practicaly force-fed to you throughout the story.

I knew Leaf and Leif were one and the same. Just trying to make a joke (and I failedby the looks of it.) .

Raven is one of the best characters in the game,
even if he likes his sister a little too much
. Lucius....looks like a girl though so that's understandable. Ninian is
a dragon, and Eliwood attacked her!
He hates all females, he is by no means a pimp.

Enough about Eliwood's sexuality. Back on track, how old is Celice? He looks like just a kid in FE4, but looks more like a teenager in FE5.

Celice is definitelly 18 years old at the start of chapter 6. I don't know how many years passed from Chapter 6 to 11, but I think he ended the game with around 20 years. Sigurd was 23 at the end of chapter 5 though.

The Treasure Artbook (which I got the chance to look) states the characters' age in multiple of 10. Main characters, like Sigurd and Celice, have an exact number. I could search for some if you want.

Also Sigurd started off at 23...gen 1 is 3 years he should be 26 at the end...agtleast thats what i got from people in the SS forums...

I ordered this book some years ago when I had the FE4 fever, and it's amazing, but sadly, almost all good info is in Japanese, excepting the genealogies which are pretty easy to figure of. The contents of the book are:

- A exclusive poster with all 12 crusaders.
- Map of power balance in Jugdral and chronological table
- Country information
- Character information
- Genealogy of Royal Families and knights
- Jobs and classes
- First generation character profiles (757-760)
- Second generation character profiles (777-778)
- Updated artworks for all characters, even for the generic second generation ones and many other obscure characters! Redrawn by the Thracia 776 artist.
- A ilustration comparing all characters in height.
- Interviews with many designers.
- Graphic data, grow rates and stats from every character in the game.
- Collection from all dialogues before each predestined fight.

I was wrong with the ages thing, that's from another book, the Characters one devoted to FE6-7. Maybe the ages are mentioned in the book, but I don't know too much Japanese so I couldn't tell.

Well, just point what do you want, cause scanning all of this is a pain :p

After seeing that the Brawl Character Disc. has been overflowed with even more stupidity,(Tin Star, Shadow, etc.) I think it's time to revive one the threads with some of the characters that have the most potential in Brawl.

Anyway, who's Oguma(or Odama...whatever his name is)? Because I read somewhere he's one of the most suggested FE characters on Sakurai's poll.

Odama is a GCN game made by the dude that made Seaman for Dreamcast (I would have preferred it to be called "semen" but that's just me). Odama has nothing to do with FE.

You fool! I know there's a character named Odama...or Oguma...or Ogadagawaya, something like that anyway...

That game on the Dreamcast was awesome.

For people who don't know, Odama was a very strange game for the Cube. It involved using a giant pinball (wtf?) to smash down hordes of Samurai. Your other soldiers could be directed by the microphone.

Back on topic, I'd like to see Hector, Lyn, Eliwood or Ephraim in Brawl.

Yes, Oguma is a character from Fire Emblem. I've only seen the anime, so I can't say too much about him, but he appears to have ties to Talis and Princess Sheida. He fights with a fairly large sword and (if he was put into Brawl, hypothetically) appears to be fairly heavy.

Did he play a major role in the game? I saw some fan art for him, or was he just strong and popular for that, like Ayra?

In the ? Box that Mario must hit.
I hate the way these games are played (well, the GC one anyway, I don't know if they are all that way or not), but my cousin has this game, and I think Titania is hot. An axe weilding hot girl would be great ^^ I also like the female bad guy. Don't remember her name. He likes the Black Knight, but due to my hate of the game, I haven't got that far yet to know if I like him or not. I don't like Ike, but I like his style (way he stands and stuff). I guess I better get used to him in case they replace Marth with Ike.

They aren't replacing Marth with Ike. He's the most popular/well-known FE character.
