Final smash, not just once.

lets think about this, ok so I am playing as Mario I get the Smash ball, I do my attack, a while latter, a new smash ball drops on screen, and I get to it first, well do you think they would make it so I just can pick it up? I can pick it up, but can't use it?

think about it people, 1 smash ball = 1 final smash. It can be performed but once after obtaining a smash ball, then there is no more smash ball until a new one drops in. that is how it is most likely going to work.

do you guys think I am right, or crazy? I don't mean to flame anyone. I just think that it just would not work 1 final smash per player per game

no i understand the fact that you can only USE 1 final smash once per game this is because they are "super" moves so you should'nt be able to use them more then once but you can still go get another one to keep other players from using thiers... right?

they are super moves, and you earn them by fighting for the smash ball. geting two in one game means that you get 2 attacks, what if we had a 99 live game going on?

I posted about this in about three other threads today. The Smash Ball is an item that can only be used once, as opposed to an item like a ray gun that can be used 16 times, or a home run bat that can be swung repeatedly.

The rule is one Final Smash per Smash Ball, NOT one Final Smash per match. That's just stupid.

that is what I am saying a lot of people are saying one final smash per match, I was saying it would be stupid if you can't just get a new smash ball and use the final smash...

If it was one per match, it'd be sort of stupid. If I got hit by an FS I'd want to get revenge with my own FS whenever a Smash Ball appears. If it's only one per match, I can't get my revenge on them with my FS so it makes it kind of...blech.

Considering Samus' Final Smash, it's pretty unlikely that she can perform more than one if she stays as Zamus for the rest of the match.

where did you learn this? i dont remember it saying it was random but if it was it would make much more sense but then also if you can use one more than once then what would Zamus's be or Giga bowsers? (yes i know you are him for a short time but what if another one appears?)

I don't know that, I could be wrong, but I think It well be a very rare spawning item, zamus would be whatever they feel like it being, if It is as rare as I think, it would not show up very offen, but it would add more time for gaia, or he can't grab it like that. just my guess. I don't know anything more then you do about this, I just think it would be un-like them to make it only one time per match

I'm sure they can program the game so that a Smash Ball won't appear during a Final Smash attack. If it did happen though, it would just do nothing if it was grabbed by someone already performing their Final Smash.

The only time we've seen a Smash Ball being grabbed and used is in the first trailer when Mario pretty much jumped through the Smash Ball. Incidentally, we know that Smash Balls appear floating. If a character's already used one Final in a match, and the 1 Final/match/character rule is true, then I don't see why they don't just become unable to get Smash Balls, i.e. they just jump through them.

I think it is far from fact, I think it is people looking to deep into what he said.

I think presuming to know anything about final smashes other than that they can be used by each character is presuming too much, but I think that the idea that most closely aligns with what Sakurai has said so far is that you get a smash ball, and you get to use the final smash once in a match. I have no idea how many smash balls spawn, or even if the smash orb will be an "item" but I think that each player gets one FS per match.

I was thinking of reserving it (think of an aura around a character after they grabbed a smash ball) instead of actually holding it as an regular item.

It does not say that a FS is a skill that can be performed after obtaining a Smash Ball, and only once. It's the other way around. It can only be performed once... and even then, you have to get a Smash Ball. Seems EXTREMELY clear to me that it is maximum of once per match per person.

I don't think it is straightforward at all. it says you can use it but once after obtaining a smash ball, it does not say you can't grab more then one, does it? (and I would like to note, this skill is not very secret is it?)
