couldnt find a topic on this so i just made one;)
Fallout is one of my favorite sci-fi frachises and it is now taking place in one of my favorite cities: Las Vegas. itll be great to see what the developers at obsidian do with this, because they helped in the development of Fallout 2. although at the time it was Black Isle Studios

New Vegas is an odd name.

I loved Fallout. Is it taking place during the same time as Fallout 3? Or is it 1000 years ahead and another nuclear explosion or whatever?

Never played the first two.

Fallout New Vegas is based during the same time that Fallout 3 takes place. It's built on the Fallout 3 engine, so don't consider it Fallout 4. Those are all the details I'm aware of.

Of course, this probably means that Elder Scrolls V is on hiatus

Perhaps. but you got to remember that the fallout series is trying to return after nearly a decade. and with the major success of Fallout 3, its no wonder they would make it there top priority

Fallout new vegas made by obsidian studios which is people from interplay that made a different studio will be running on the same engine as Fallout 3, the game ships sometime in 2010 and is not apart of Fallout 3.

Fallout: New Vegas isnt being made by Bethesda, since this is going to be the next Fallout I'm sure they are 100% focused on the next expansion in the Elder Scrolls series.

Didnt know Bethesda made Elder Scrolls <shrug> anyway they are also producing a Fallout MMORPG and will work on Fallout 4 after New Vegas comes out. i wonder if this will replace the elder scrolls as their signature frachise

Whenever I hear 'New Vegas', I think of Rainbow Six Vegas 1 & 2.

This game should be good. Fallout 3 was the first Fallout game I ever played.

New Vegas should be great. I can't wait to see what the developers do with this alternate-reality Las Vegas they are cooking up.

Elder Scrolls 4 was a disappointment to me (maybe I just liked Morrowind too much), so it isn't THAT big a deal that V isn't going to come out soon. I'd rather have them make at least one more Fallout game before going back to Elder Scrolls, or better, make a new Ip altogether.

Still, I can't wait to see how they handle an alternate-reality Vegas. It should be interesting, to say the least.

Wow, dead thread, but look, NEWS!

There's been some rumors and speculation floating around about the upcoming New Vegas, the link to the Fallout Wiki page here.
It is going to be called Honest Hearts, judging from a file name in New Vegas that includes the graffiti below, and ZeniMax trademarking the name. Here is the graffiti:

You can obviously see the references to "Joshua Graham", "The Burned Man", and New Canaan, which was a that was going to be in Van Buren, the original Fallout 3 and New Vegas' spiritual predecessor. Joshua Graham is The Burning Man, which is frequently talked about by Caesar's Legion, and is Caesar's former right hand man whom he lit on fire and tossed into the Grand Canyon after he disobeyed orders. We can also assume that it is going to be set mainly seperate from the main wasteland, unlike Broken Steel, considering New Canaan is in Utah.
It is going to be released on all platforms simultaniously unlike Dead Money, which was released on Xbox first. We can also hope that it will increase the level cap and possibly go the way of Broken Steel and let you continue the main story without having to revert to a previous save.

Post your opinions and any other rumors, speculations, or hopes for the new DLC.

So I bought this game yesterday and so far, it's pretty good.

I like the ADS feature from the CoD series. I mean, this game is like more Fallout 3. (Which is a good thing.)

Wish I could get the DLCs, but I'm strapped for cash.

Some NCR Rangers harrased me today about my low reputation with the NCR. Just can't get over me
blowing up their monorail for the Legion.

The monorail blew up for me too cause I couldn't find the bomb in time. :c
I'm guessing you must've told Hsu about
Curtis being the spy before going to the monorail or something?
It didn't happen to me on my first playthrough.

Not that it really mattered to me. I was working for House.

Though it seemed weird that my reputation didn't drop after I
blew up the monorail
, only when I
killed the scapegoat
.

It was a headshot, by the way. Funny as hell, his brains splattering everywhere.

Nope, I basically
went to that radio tower and saw the guy, approached him, killed him, then reported back to Hsu. He then told me to find and defuse the bomb. I went to go find it and the monorail moved and blew up.

Well, I'm looking at the Fallout wiki now. This quest is pretty buggy apparently.

Gonna try and get Raul's bandito outfit, then off to find the Boomers.

Does anyone here have any problems when it comes to loading your saved game(s)?

Sometimes it just keeps on loading and apparently, they're aware of this problem but it hasn't gotten patched yet.

I have the PC version and the only thing that bugs out on me is the game randomly crashes once in a while...no loading errors.
