Balanced Brawl Thread

Balanced Brawl Showcase video

The standard version of "Balanced Brawl" has been released to everyone. It has no significant change in the different characters' respective gameplays, there are mainly modifications on damage and knockback. One thing is sure, and that affects greatly us Falco mains: the chaingrabs have been removed.

Falco throw laser knockback changed from (80/60) -> (48/70), angle from 50 -> 115
Falco b-throw knockback changed from (80/80) -> (25/90)
Falco d-throw knockback changed from (130/45) -> (10/80)

However, they gave us a b-throw sending the opponent above Falco which allows nice followups.

What are your opinions on this?

My ego...It's OVER 9000!
I believe Balanced Brawl will drop Falco to best of high tier, or not. His worst matchups are Pika and ICs, and they removed Pika's CG, but they can't do anything about ICs. Falco's matchups with characters like Ness, DK, and Ike were in his favor because of CG.

However, his lasers and high tech chasing capabilities are what shine next to CG.

If the bthrow and be follow up with a kill, Falco will stay as one of the best characters in the game. :)

Edit: I realized I may not have understood the point of BB when I posted this, but my point still stands. Falco will still be a good character, but with no CG, big changes are going to happen to the metagame.

We better be careful. This thread might deserve to be with it's own kind in the smash workshop. Thus, some mods might ban it or move it from here.

Until such time that Teran or Mini Mic comes on I shall abuse this thread. :)

Whenever I use the CG, it is never for killing, it's always for damage racking. Simply destorying the Dthrow approach really wouldn't phase me much. Just makes it longer to rack up damage is all. Since I've not tried the Bthrow or seen what it does not really sure how it would help Falco. If it gave us a set-up for killing through Bthrow than they just improved falco instead of nerfing him.

And neither it seems do you find due cause to cut or lock threads today.

Falco has a back throw?!?
Yea! It's what you use to follow up after you Boost Pivot Grab someone to add some cool special effects to an already cool AT.

But IMO, I think Balanced Brawl is just a waste of time. The concept sounds very nice, but it will never become adapted mainstream.

I'm sorry, but I wasn't sure where to post such a thread about Falco's performance in Balanced Brawl either.

I posted it here because BBrawl might possibly become a tournament standard, and it is not too different from regular Brawl, unlike Brawl+.

IF it becomes something bigger, I think we should have a sticky thread to help introduce the little changes in BBrawl in terms of gameplay and matchups for Falco mainers, in order to help them adapt should they have to play it in a tournament.
