To recap, you want to accumulate the most points by drafting players that will place high

A lot of picks were based on players' brackets instead of based on the "best available player" due to the ridiculous nature of the EVO format. For example, someone like Lord can secure a guaranteed 33rd place just by winning his bracket pool due to a winners bracket bye, while someone like Darkrain has to play Hungrybox immediately after winning his bracket pool and might get sent to losers bracket with only a guaranteed 65th place.

No matter how good the luigi players are and how well they do at locals/large regionals they never seem do that great at nationals. Highest placing luigi at Apex 2013 was 49th I'm not surprised people rather not choose them.
