This is just a simple question to ask the Marth board:

If Marth had his games localized in English, would you still rather have it so that there are English subtitles and have his voice in Japanese/ have No subtitles with an English dub/ have an English subtitle with English/ hane no subtitles and keep his voice in Japanese...maybe something of the sort, whatever combination you can come up with.

Personally I would prefer that they keep his voice in Japanese because it just makes him all the more awesome, but that's just an opinion reason, I really couldn't come up with a logical reason other than the fact that the dubs have to be REALLY good. post your answer along with the reasoning

if this topic has already been made pelase feel free to redirect it there to me because I couldn't get any search results or if you are a moderator delete it. :ohwell:

I don't care if marth uses a japanese voice, an english voice, or a freaking gudrathi voice. Marth is too awesome.

But I guess I prefer the japanese voice. It goes with the story of his tiara keeping in his manlyness. (I find his voice a bit high pitched, lol)

Lol, yeah, I like how everything he does outside of owning people just questions his manlyness. It just makes taunts and the winning screen all the more enjoyable after the epic **** of your opponent

I'd prefer Japanese above all because I am a...

wait for it...

"Japanophile"

plus it fits him. Any human man trying to emulate such in a different language would almost certainly face defeat.

But Nintendo will probably give him a different voice actor after Fire Emblem DS just to spite me.

The guy who does the Anime voice also did his Brawl/Melee voice IIRC.

And I'm pretty sure the guy lives on...

I believe they are localizing Marth.

The upcoming Fire Emblem DS is a remake of the first Fire Emblem.

Is it gonna be 1 or 3? I heard its a remake of FE3
its yet to be confirmed at this point. most people believe that it is just a remake of one. there could be a possible FE3 (part two) remake afterwards though. maybe with the ability to transfer over your party?

Let's leave subtitles out of fighting games, please. Keep Marth as he is.
I'm pretty sure most traditional fighting games have subtitles, like Tekken and Dead or Alive. I don't own any traditional fighting games though, but I'll at least guarantee the latter game has subtitles.

I'm leading toward FE1 since FE3 is on the JP Wii Virtual Console and they wouldn't want to lead buyers away from buying that gem.

A defiant no on dubbing his voice. Just look at naruto....
Phfff...Naruto got it easy compared to us Ike mainers. Did you see how epic his voice was in Japanese? He'll I would have been happy with a decent English voice actor.

Do you know who voices Ike in English (in both Brawl and his FE games)?

Not even a voice actor...he's a BASEBALL player...

Jason Adkins, look him up.

I hope you Marth mainers suffer our fate for the DS release.

EDIT: Don't, Don't suffer! I forgot to put don't suffer!

I'm NOT an otaku, but I LOVE Hikaru Midorikawa's (who is very much alive, BTW...look him up on Wikipedia ;)) voice for Marth, and I'm VERY happy that it was left intact in the NA "Brawl"! :chuckle:

With "Fire Emblem DS" on the way, though, I have a feeling he'll get dubbed if there's another "Smash Bros." I hope they'll find the right guy for the job if that comes to pass. :)

Really? (*LOOKS HIM UP*)

LOL, wow!

I actually like Ike's English voice way better than the Japanese one, which sounds like an old man to me. (*ACTIVATES FLAME SHIELD*)

/me is now tempted to stage a picture of Ike playing baseball

Ike can be a good bunter.

But anyway Ike's English voice is alright, but I love it how his japanese actor yells "I hate you!" when he does Great Aether.

It's Dai Ten Kuu, which is Great Aether in Japanese.

It makes sense as Ten Kuu is Aether.

So...yeah. No Engrish in my Brawlz kthx. "I hate you" would have been interesting nonetheless.
