Disagreed. Competitive or not, I still dislike the game. People don't hate it just becauseAnd contrary to alot of whatpeople here think, Brawl was a ver good game (read:outside of the competitive scene, in which reviews dont take account into)
W-w-w-wh-wh-wh-wha-whaa....WHAT?!No, Super Mario Galaxy
Well, Stelix would be an obvious favorite, as it says in his pokedex entry that he's harder skinned than diamonds.Sorry for posting again but a shooter + pokemon? Am I missing something? :\
... I'm trying to rap my head around how in god's name that would even work. I haven't played Galaxy yet, but Pokemon while fun, isn't all that fantastic of a game. Addictive yes, but the game design isn't particularly interesting and lacks replay value unless you get really hardcore into that game. Sure if you get into the competitive side of Pokemon or you get really obsessive over catching all the Pokemon you could easily drop a lot of time into it, but as it stands it remains a game I play only on occasion. No, Super Mario Galaxy

Well, the Pokemon level up system would be in place, but combat would be half First-Person shooter special attacks, half 3rd-person action title with melee attacks, using a fictitious world in the line of the Smash realm, but with planets and parts of planets instead of a flat realm.... Dear Mr. Halloween Captain,Well, the Pokemon level up system would be in place, but combat would be half First-Person shooter special attacks, half 3rd-person action title with melee attacks, using a fictitious world in the line of the Smash realm, but with planets and parts of planets instead of a flat realm.
Also, the trainer would weild RPGs in the RPG. And there would be Samus, Mario, and Bowser there as well. Not the entire Smash Bros. cast though, only big names, as entire elements of each world would need to be implemented in new, detailed, creative ways. The first half of the story would be the typical storylines, but as a twist, the part at the end of Galaxy would correlate to the part where the legendaries in Diamond and Pearl destroy the dimentions, and Snake and Sonic can jusst have some portal thingy that some terrorist/Dr. Eggman invented. Okami, or Amaterasu, is the mother goddess, so she could probably find her way into the game, as well as Link, using the portal system. Starbits would get a significant powerup to compete with the weapons of the other worlds. And Luigi would aim his vaccume at you to summon powerful wirlwinds. E. Gadd would be reintroduced.
BTW, my gaming ideas are beyond the realm of possibility.
Actually she sounded pretty taken back. Just sayin'.That video was boring...and she sounded so unsurprised "huh!" and then she just keeps going...
No one ever seems to like GTA the best. I can't figure out why reviewers like it so much.I happily give Fallout 3 the game of the year award. Oblivion received a million and one awards, but I thought the game was lackluster. Bethesda nailed Fallout 3, using the best elements in Oblivion along with plentiful new ideas (many of which were Oblivion-mod influenced, such as the keyring).
Fallout 3 is **** near flawless in my eyes. It destroys GTA4, but I've yet to play MGS4, so I will refrain from comparing the two.
I completely agree. Call me what you will, but that is so sweet. It's a creative way to propose, and very romantic if both you and your boy/girlfriend are gamers. I can't stand the people on that video, though. So many jack***es who are saying how pathetic it is.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mf2iGG9uTZY
Oh my god... That was seriously the CUTEST moment I have EVER seen in video game HISTORY.
In case link doesn't work or you're too lazy to read it, it's a LittleBigPlanet custom made level designed by this guy who wanted to propose to his girlfriend. The whole level is designed with hearts everywhere, romantic music, etc. and there is even a part when the level asks her if she will marry him, and she says yes! :D
...I'm a guy and I almost cried watching that.![]()
Nor do I, honestly. It's a good game, it really is. A great game.No one ever seems to like GTA the best. I can't figure out why reviewers like it so much.
That's the point. Wouldn't be that haunting and post apocalyptic if everyone was gettin' funkeh to Eminem's Without Me and the setting was straight outta that movie Robots. My only criticism of Fallout 3 what that the setting was drab and included music from the 50's. Great storyline (so far), but the fundamental aspects of the world that are necesary to coincide with such a storyline don't impress me much, mainly because they are too dank and there's little modern music.
It really is not romantic.I completely agree. Call me what you will, but that is so sweet. It's a creative way to propose, and very romantic if both you and your boy/girlfriend are gamers. I can't stand the people on that video, though. So many jack***es who are saying how pathetic it is.
I wouldn't have chosen LBP myself, but it's still a sweet idea.
It... It's not?It really is not romantic.
Sorry, but you don't do it that way. It's kinda like a scoreboard proposal in a baseball game. It might seem like a good idea at the time, but it's not.
Well, except a scoreboard proposal is hard to reject (saying no in front of hundreds of people?), has become cliched, etc.It really is not romantic.

Youtube proposals are also a bad idea.Well, except a scoreboard proposal is hard to reject (saying no in front of hundreds of people?), has become cliched, etc.
I'm pretty sure this is actually a completely different situation. I am 99% sure he was there with her, it was not in public (until he put it up on YouTube), and it was a creative way to do it. The only comparison there is that you think both are bad ideas. I agree that the scoreboard proposals are, but I disagree on this one. It's a creative way to pop the question and a good way to do so if both you and your boy/girlfriend are into gaming. As far as the game, I would choose something more timeless and awesome to do it in, like Super Metroid (however you'd pull it off in that). But nonetheless, unless you eventually lose interest of gaming, I don't see why you'd regret it.
The 2007 Wii nominees were much better.WiiMusic is going to win game of the year.
And well, exactly it was off topic and I don't really care for some random guy who proposed to some random girl using LittleBigPlanet. I realize the thread isn't just about what I want to discuss, but I'm posting to discuss the Game of the Year so I had to say something. No ****, sherlock.
But it came up in discussion and we discussed it. And if you want to be nitpicky about things, your post was technically just as bad as us posting about that video.
I know mine is too, only I'm not the one nitpicking.
Let's just say I will be extremely disapointed in the award process if Brawl loses to one of the alternatives. And well, exactly it was off topic and I don't really care for some random guy who proposed to some random girl using LittleBigPlanet. So does anyone know when the actual Game of the Year awards are? The one that matters, not every gaming sites list of decent games this year. Because I keep hearing that Fable 2 won and I can't find any information on it, and it's really a bit disappointing that a game like Fable 2 won (if it did.) It's more or less Fable with some upgrades, and maybe even some downgrades not a sequel so I'd like to know why a much more deserving game didn't win.
@Halloween Captain: Last years Wii nominations were better because last year decent games were released for the Wii...I guess Animal Crossing has a shot...I mean it doesn't have a lot of competition.
Good question. But even though it seems like we are all pro MGS4, we gotta give the game some credit. We are comparing MGS4 to GTA4 as if it's OoT vs (insert a bad N64 game here). We can't sit here and deny that GTA4 as over hyped as it was, was one of the greatest hits of this year.No one ever seems to like GTA the best. I can't figure out why reviewers like it so much.

Sarcasm scares me sometimes.WiiMusic is going to win game of the year.
GTA has always been an odd series, in the way it is reviewed and received I mean.Good question. But even though it seems like we are all pro MGS4, we gotta give the game some credit. I seriously didn't think this thread would be so one-sided. I don't think I've seen one person suggest GTA4 over MGS4 yet. MGS4 is just too perfect I guess.
I agree I also though it was very creative/romantic.
WHAT THE F***???Well, the Pokemon level up system would be in place, but combat would be half First-Person shooter special attacks, half 3rd-person action title with melee attacks, using a fictitious world in the line of the Smash realm, but with planets and parts of planets instead of a flat realm.

It's probably because of the much better games that came out on the PS3 this year, most notably the exclusives.I was just looking at IGN's reviews of the all the consoles in 2008, and I was shocked to see how low the fans voted GTAIV. It was 8th on the PS3! 8TH! I starting to wonder if GTA has more of a following with the semi-casual gaming market. People who enjoy playing in the sandbox for awhile, killing people and playing with a bunch of, shall we say (in the interest of younger members) not very tastefully dressed women. Not to bash the game, I mean it is a good game, but I think maybe the hardcore gamers are more interested in what are frankly, more interesting titles.
