After reading this thread, I am depressed.
First, I was like to say that I addressed any NE player in the GA thread that I might be able to join in the epic adventure to going down there. No responce from anyone here. I even considered going myself, but after MM, I realized that it is not worth it with all the reasons already given and more.
Cort, I couldn't agree with you more about the depressingness of playing both games at the same time. Brawl also kills all Melee skill, and the little I had got me here, but is lost.
This thread only reinforces the idea I already had, which is that the smash community is splitting into 3 seperate groups. I know I am kinda late in the "arguement", but I don't care.
To point out, this was huge at MM. There were the kids who came for Brawl, the people who accepted Brawl for what it is, and the kids who came to play Melee at MM.
The real reason I went to MM was to give Melee a chance agian. Who did I play though? Elen once, two other kids, and the kid I brought. A total of about 6 matches that I couldn't play from home. Even after the TV I played Wilshire on, that T.V. was basically stolen.
We asked to play for a few solid hours and got barely anything. This isn't what Melee players should be doing. Don't you think you would want other kids to play to remind them of the game? to bring them back?
Apperently not because you were all jerks. Melee's new theme is TV hogging apperently, not comboing. I also only played Banks at X.E.S.T.I.C.L.E, even I asked each TV if I could hop in every 20 min or so, and the only reason I got to play then was because he came and got me to play.
Seriously, what the hell. When we left, Wilshire though all of the kids that were playing Melee were *******s. Which is not true at all, but I couldn't think of a reason to disagree. People who played only Melee and knowns were just hoping in whenever the **** they want, while I'm sitting there asked to get in after every match. This is not really the way that things should be done.
I don't care if you dont read the whole thing, but I'm choosing to go to XI.E.S.T.I.C.L.E because Melee is ruined to me. Not becuase of Brawl, but because of its players. The majority of you have an elietist attitude now. Why? The lack of respect is fluddering, and I dont get it. Read what you guys wrote, I mean, I could be missing something but I dont know.
I don't know, I just wanted to get this off my chest. I'm getting paid to write this anyway so **** yeah.
