Well, a lot's NOT been going on recently and people are thinking... "Eh...What's happening at E3? Info or no info? Whats the dealio dammit?"
Well, I don't exactly know myself, but here's an insight on Nintendo's past that may give an idea...
People are wondering what's gonna happen at E3, are we gonna get some Brawl info or not? Anything really - new characters, new stages - items, anything...
Thing is Nintendo's known for holding back info for months just to add hype an continue the suspense, remember Twilight Princess? Delaynig it for over a year... Then finally releasing it for the Wii + Gamecube... Kept that one quiet for a long time.
Thing is, Nintendo like to hold things back an tease us, mean I wouldn't be surprised if they just showed us Yoshi an maybe Donkey Kong - two fighters who we can guarantee WILL appear in the game... It's just how it is, Nintendo like to play about with the public. So there is a extremely small chance we'll see new characters announced (Sonic, Crono, Michael Jackson)...
Sure Nintendo is known to give a huge surprise everytime once in a while for a game... But that surprise was Snake, an we might not see another surprise...
It'd be awesome to see a totally new character confirmed, but tha'd slow down the hype Brawl has, they'll be an uproar for a month, then it'd just die again....
Whatever we may see at E3, it may just be a small trailer of Yoshi pratting about chasing DK on a Donkey Kong stage...
Now, lets take this into a different perspective.
At E3, Nintendo WILL be up against Microsoft and Sony, so they will want to release something big to catch the attention of Journalists an etc, so the Game Magazines new headline will be "____ ANNOUNCED FOR BRAWL" and just leave Micro and Sony in the advert pages...
Just like last year's E3, Nintendo may decide to drop a huge bombshell, announce a few new characters including a 3rd party character (Crono hopefully, although most likely Sonic) - that will certainly turn heads accross the hall.
Furthermore, lets face it, it's been a year now, a yea and only 2 trailers. Both good yes, but it's time for a final trailer to seal the deal. To let Microsoft and Sony know that this so called "kiddy konsole" called the "wii" is here and it's here to compete an rattle Micro+Sony down to the ground.
Look at what Micro's done, to continue the hype of Halo3, they're releasing the Multiplayer in May... That's certainly gonna sell a few thousand more 360's (Just a side note here. I got fed up waiting for Brawl info, my friend gave me his 360 for a week, I turned on Halo2, loved it - and 3 weeks later, here I am, with my 360. I'm not saying Nintendo has lost a gamer, I'm still gonna get the Wii, just not during the summer... I will literally buy it a week before Brawl is out. Till then, my 360 will do me fine)
Back on topic now, Nintendo will not want to lose gamers to the other two companies, so may very well decide to kill the competition by announcing something huge at E3.
Let's face it, with Halo 3 already having a release date and BETA out soon Nintendo are gonna have to do something. (I'm not even gonna comment on Sony, because I did pre-order my PS3, but with the pathetic line up they gave, I asked for my deposit back).
Anyways, thats a view from both sides.
The Sneaky Suspense Nintendo - and the All out Killer Nintendo.
What's going to happen at E3? Don't know, and frankly I think Nintendo may be making a big mistake if they don't release some solid info, as Halo 3's hype is just beginning...
