Is there a reason everyone thinks that Snake is automatically de-confirmed because of Pac-Man?
A really good reason like a quote or something?
He died in one of the posters fan-fictions, we think sakurai may have read it, and made it a canon death in the smash series.

Having almost as many characters as Brawl has me a little nervous for the roster at this point. And there are still quite a few veterans left to reveal.

Well then.. Looks like the Sal leak is legit. I just hope that there are others besides these guys. I can deal w/ Shulk but I really don't want Chorus Men.

It's just assumed because Konami doesn't really have any links with Nintendo anymore, or at least Metal Gear Solid doesn't.

He was added in because Sakurai was "begged" to put him in. I loved Snake, but I don't think he'll be back. Sad to see.

Mr. Game & Watch was hinted at during the amiibo thing. Maybe Lucina's appearing could mean Chrom? I dunno.

I can't say I'm expecting to get more Smash news from E3, but I'd love to be surprised tomorrow. Of course, I'll also be going to try the demo myself, so that counts for something (and as a Samus main, I'm excited to see Samus be buffed in the version of the demo).

As for Kirby's Pac Man hat, that's absolutely horrifying and I was just about to go to bed until seeing it.

"Mii's are so bland!"
"Can't wait to see some **** shaped mii's"
"Pac-Man is generic"
"Lloyd Irving is more deserving"
said everyone before E3. Now looks who's backing up!

Also there hasn't been so much as a whisper in regards to Snake.
Ridley has a shadow going for him or against him, depending on who you ask. Atleast we know there is an inclusion there.
Other characters have a grape vine leak from Sal.
Some characters have like items/ at's from their series.
Snake's got notta.

There is the one interview with what his nuts? Kojima or who ever makes those solid games, where he said he hasn't heard anything about snake being put in smash. So if you take the Q&A from today in regards to the roster and compare it to the time of that interview odds aren't great. However there is a chance that Kojima was doing a redherring type-of-deal to intentionally throw people off. However now we get into speculation and straw grasping.

I still think it's a little to early to write him off.
We do still have 5 MONTHS to see him revealed.
There is no predicting Sakurai, I understand that but I think he'll at least try to get back a fan favorite character and one that he enjoyed himself.

Nintendo's plan seems to be "Let's reveal some stuff during the direct, but lets leave out all of the important stuff for the next couple of days so we get more media coverage."

That seems to be working, what do you guys think of the way they are doing this?

Okay I've been away for about three hours. Can't follow the rumours anymore. Is there supposed to be another Smash event on Twitch... like Treehouse maybe?

Tomorrow will be another twitch stream from Tree House, correct. We don't know if we will get any more Smash info though.

Well, dude, if Sakurai picks these characters, it's his job to convince us that his judgment was correct. He convinced me his judgment was correct today three separate times in spite of not really wanting two of them, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Oh cool, thanks. Either way, the Treehouse events are awesome.

We also get our mystery 3DS game. I'm guessing 2D Metroid. Anyone have any ideas?

I can't agree with this more. With both Mii Fighters and Pac-man, I was fairly confident Sakurai could do something cool with them, but I personally couldn't think of them in any light that didn't leave me disinterested at best. That's why he's the developer and I'm not, I suppose, cuz I'm stoked.

The only info from E3 that hasn't pleased me so far is the October release date and Sheik's FS being light arrows again.

This late in the game people tend to drift away from certain characters as more and more gets announced and shown, and there's nothing to even straw grasp or speculate on. Pacman had an early leak, namco items, etc. Even now we have Earthbound items, kritters in smash run, samurai Goroh AT, which suggests or at least allows speculation for characters from those series.

Snake has no hints, leaks, items, stages, AT's, like nothing, it's only natural that hype and hopes die for him with the game nearing closer and closer, but its true you never know and anything can happen.

*You mean less than 4 months. Rest of June, and then July, August and September. It launches beginning of October...
So did the Pacman trailer just show 3 new Wii U Stages? A retro-looking one, the interior of a tower composed of blocks, and a new Yoshi stage? I'm intrigued by what the first two stages I mentioned come from...I don't seem to recognize them
There were variations from the New Super Mario Bros U stage, there wasn't any Yoshi stage.
The only info from E3 that hasn't pleased me so far is the October release date and Sheik's FS being light arrows again.
Zero-Suit Samus gets an amaaazing, overpowered, new FS, and Sheik gets stuck with the same old thing.

Actually we'll know the full cast in September, that's when it releases in Japan (and BEFORE TGS, too).

err i mean

Moar Splatoon, cause I just know they'll do it again, and hold it off until the very end xD
I'm so glad everyone loves Splatoon as much as I do. When they announced it, I was so scared everyone would rip Nintendo to shreds for being to childish. The game looks amazing.

Splatoon looks like a game I'm gonna want to play, for sure.

I was actually against Pac-Man, but Sakurai and his dev team have done an awesome job with the character. And his moveset is pretty amazing. Kudos to you, Sakurai...kudos.

If Shulk gets revealed, I expect him to have unique move sets rather than variations.

Edit: I'll also admit that when I first heard of the name Splatoon, I thought... eh. Then when I initially saw it I was like... meh... but the more I watched it, the more I liked it.

So... wow, the stupid Galaxian is actually part of Pac-Man's moveset. I certainly never expected that. Regardless, at least its classic Pac-Man. But guys, I'm pretty sure now that we have all our Retro characters. Even if you don't count Little Mac, Pac-Man and Mega Man are clearly Retro. They're based entirely on the classics. We don't have a Nintendo Retro character, but at this point, I think Nintendo is trying to add recent characters to maximize sales.

We might get a few older characters, but probably not many. (I just hope Isaac is one of them.)

If we go off the Sal leak...

We have two retro character: Pac Man and Mega Man
Two rebooted characters: Palutena and Little Mac
And eight characters from the modern Nintendo era: Villager, Greninja, Rosaluma, Mii Fighter, Chrom, Shulk, Chorus Kids and WFT.

Needs more retro Ninty.

We get two flat-out Retro characters per game. This game has a lot of newer characters, yeah, but not all characters from past games are always Retro.

Somebody on another thread speculated that since Sal's leak seems to be true and in his latest leak he said that Mii, Paluntena, Chrom, Shulk and Chorus kid would all be showcased at E3 it's quite possible we'll see Chrom, Shulk and Chorus kid revealed later in the week. Maybe at the Tree House perhaps?

Hrm, I may have missed it... but does Zelda have the same old FS as well?
Yup. I don't remember where I saw it, probably one of the random E3 floor game play videos.

Sheik and Zelda still have the same Final Smash.

It is true that only ZSS needed a new FS, given that her old one was basically "put on the Power Suit". But I was hoping we'd get something cooler for Sheik... they could make up some Sheikah move for her.

I'm expecting Link and Toon Link to stay the same as well, and if Falco and Wolf are both in again... more Landmasters. It isn't too much to ask that there be an Arwing Final Smash, is it?
