well, he's not my favorite Marth, definitely not my favorite. But he's not bad either. I only watched the first video, but from what I've seen he really likes to stick with his fairs and fsmash. Not that fairs are a bad thing but he might want to switch it up a bit more and the fsmash was getting a little predictable.

Argh, rolls too much, uses f-smash too much, needs to space a lot better, needs to learn how to space his fairs (it only got shielded once, but he kept going forwards, not a good idea), he needs to spotdodge....

Look, I don't think people were just looking to tear you apart, but somebody held you up as an example to the community, which inevitably means that your style will get critiqued.


The fact is, your style is highly dependant on mindgames as opposed to technical ability, it IS sloppy, that is a statement of truth, so holding you up as an example for the community is probably not a good idea, since videos and text cannot teach mindgames, so it only encourages technical sloppyness.


It's not your fault this came up, so I feel bad that you got those comments, still, they are the truth.


BTW for marth... spacing is not "camping", it's just the opposite, it's what makes his rushdown successful, because it allows you to attack without being punished, unlike most chars who are forced to rely on "waiting till their opponent attacks andpunishing them".

Sure, fair is part of it, but so are the titls, and bair.

lol Drew spacing is not camping. Spacing can lead to camping but I use spacing so I don't get punished on block.

You don't need to list who you've beat any decent player knows you're good. Melee players are better Brawl players than most Brawl players ><

There were pragmatic remarks, and plenty of them, but no flames.

When you say somebody is your favorite marth, you can expect that people will comment on their style, that is the truth.


Heck, I'd probably never want a video of myself posted, because while I do try to take advantage of spacing and I love my tilts, as far as technical specifics go, compared to most Marths on the board... lets get real, I suck at it.

However, I do feature an ability to predict my opponent's moves before they even do it with a high level of accuracy. In other words, I play like Drephen, only not as good at it.


Point being, people have to rip the lack of technical powess apart, otherwise other people start to play that way... people who aren't skilled at mindgames., and it hurts their game.
