I sure hope so. I'd even be extremely happy if it was exactly like the 3ds demo

Battlefield only with :4mario::4pikachu::4link::4megaman::4villager:

And IF they release it the same way as 3ds then it could come out as early as next Friday on the 7th!

I'm pretty sure it's gonna happen. If there was a demo for the 3DS version, then the Wii U version should get one as well. We could get it as early as next week.

Maybe, but it is best to keep everyone hype meter high as possible until Smash for Wii U released.

Probably, but I'd be quite disturbed if the only fighters you can use are Mario, Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man. I'm fine with Mario, but I'm not so crazy about the others.

It's possible, though I kinda hope that it would be a world wide demo off the bat and not a special one a week before. Wouldn't want yet another code begging raid happening again.........

I'm thinking yes. Nintendo has been releasing demos for quite a few games recently such as Bayonetta 2 and countless others, so I don't see why it'd be different for Sm4sh, one of the biggest releases of the year. It'll be nice to try it just to see if the controls feel fluid on a GCN / Pro / Game Pad controller.

Yes it was called Super smash Bros 3DS- ah crap I was too slow

I don't think we will have a demo. There's really no point since we all already know how the game plays. I mean, it could go either way.

Heh, at this point I wouldn't even try the demo, sure it'll be nice finally being able to play on the bigger screen with a proper controller and better visuals, but I'd rather keep playing the complete game. I can wait a month very easily with the 3DS version already in my hands.

I hope so, but I don't think I'd be so keen on it if it was those same characters from the 3DS demo.

I really kind of burned myself out of them, aside from Link. They're probably the ones I've used the least aside from Ganondorf.

I hope that if a Wii U demo does come out the character selection or stage selection is slightly different from the 3DS version. Something like Mario, Kirby, Marth, Little Mac, & Sonic on Big Battlefield.

If there is a demo it probably will not have any newcomers on it and none of the few not initially unlocked characters.
But is it even worth making a demo for 3-4 weeks. It has been said that the 50 points direct got the WiiU version a lot more pre-sales. So a demo might not really be needed.

Now that I think about it, even if there is a demo, I think I'll try to stay away from it. I want to be in complete awe when I slide the full version into the Wii U on release. Need to keep the hype train going until the end. =P

If there is, there'd better be a different roster from the 3DS demo (A mirrored roster would be cool, like Pit, Kirby, Wii Fit Trainer, and Pac-Man replacing Link, Pikachu, Villager, and Mega Man, respectively. ofc Mario would be in both versions.). In all seriousness though, I think they will have it, but it will have less uses. I'm thinking somewhere along the lines of 10 or 5.

As long as they replace Pikachu with Kirby, I'd like it. The sales are probably off the charts however.

If there will be a demo I hope there is no code bull**** again and available for everyone.

There could be but since we are getting it first maybe they will just release like 2 days before like they did for Japan.

Even if a demo were to be released, I feel like I couldn't bring myself to play it, mostly because this is the version of Smash that I've been waiting for - and I'm fairly confident I can survive another 20 days so I can play the full version of the game right out of the gate.

I am sure a demo will exist. So the game stores can have their WiiU's set up and people can play that there.
I played the 3DS demo in store today. I have not played it much as I do not own a 3DS. But it was the demo and not the full game, and that's my point. Nintendo like to have it's game demos in stores. And I think smash WiiU will be no difference. It'll be a great way to help sell the game, to those who have not seen the 50 points direct.

The 50 points direct was an amazing advertisement for the game, but it's not practical for the game stores to have on loop for 7 hours a day.

If it's another club Nintendo promotion, I'd shoot myself. We would become the black market again thanks to those codes.

Also if it existed I believe we would have at least 10 characters including the ones in the 3DS demo just in case anyone wants to play 8 player smash.

You assume 8 player smash will be in this demo. I don't think it'll be in.

Praying there will be. Seems very likely though. They should add something to the demo unlike the 3DS one just to show off a new feature or something. I mean people will buy regardless but for those on the brink of buying but aren't sure I think it'd be a good idea.

I didn't think we'd even receive a Smash Bros. 3DS demo, and we got one of those, so I'll probably be wrong here too... But no, I don't see it happening. I just don't see any incentive for it, but I'm prepared to be wrong again.

I'd probably spend more time playing the Wii U demo than the 3DS full game.

Unless you wanna see a lot of people begging for codes like with the 3DS special demo, I don't think so. I mean really, this whole code begging disaster was just as bad as the Ebola outbreak in West Africa, perhaps even worse.

Nope, I don't think one will be made. I just can't see it being that likely.

Anyway, I know for a fact they'll have them in stores at least. My nintendo rep said we can count on having on (I work at GameStop). It makes complete sense too because all the little kids will be running to the Wii U to play the demo so Mommy can see it and put it on the Christmas list.

As for having a downloadable one, it's not hard for them to make a demo. They just disable all but 5 characters, one stage, and 10 items or something like that. Then boom, send it to the eShop. They would most likely already have that done anway if they're going to do it.

However, the 3DS one does merit being the demo for "smash 4" as a whole. The fighting and mechanics are the same. The difference is minimal when it comes to the core of it.

Also the Wii U is a different story. Nintendo is fine with demos from third parties, like Bayonetta 2. I was amazingly shocked to see a demo. It was amazing. Made me go get the game.

However, Nintendo has demos of ALL these games for Wii U playable in the stores but NOT AVALIABLE FOR DOWNLOAD:

- Hyrule Warriors
- Super Mario 3D World
- Mario Kart 8
- The Legend Of Zelda: the Wind Waker HD
- Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze

All of those are Triple A first party developed (excluding Hyrule Warriors) games from Nintendo. Their huge releases. They all have retail demos. But none of them are downloadable. Smash Bros. will be no different. You can count on it.

We are 19 days away from the release of the game.

There's not gonna be a demo.

You'll be able to play it GameStop. But that's it.

Hyrule Warriors is more than a pure 3rd party game. I'd call it s Nintendo collaboration, As Aonuma had a decent role in it. And it's sales "exceeded expectations". It certainly deserves a mention in the same sentence as the other games you said.
I do agree there will probably be store demos but no downloadable demos for SSB WiiU.

This is completely off topic, but I excluded Hyrule Warriors because it wasn't developed by Nintendo. It was published by Nintendo, but not developed. It's a great game. I loved it. But it wasn't developed by them.

LOL I turn my Wii U on EVERY DAY. Mostly because the internet browser on it is the best I've seen, and also da GAMEZ. I actually haven't turned my PS4 on ever since MK8 came out! I don't know why I bought that thing. :p I guess I've been pretty much Nintendo brain washed as of now. There's just so many great games for the Wii U, and I could give a crap less about the crap coming to "Next-gen" consoles, so far at least. (looking forward to the Order 1886, Mass Effect 4 and Uncharted 4 though.) I'm playing Earthbound on the Wii U VC, and it's quickly becoming one of my favorite games of all time. In fact, the Wii U might just be my second favorite console of all time. (Barring the Gamecube for nostalgia reasons. :p)
