So i finally have a lvl 100 char and can't seem to find ANY dissidia players in my area to play against. Does ANYONE on this coast own this game, or a PSP for that matter? Anyone willing to play sometime (via PSP connect) let me know.

I just got it my highest is only 28 cloud though if I find time we can play.

Relm and herf play the game a lot. If we ever see you at a tournament you can play them. Relm mains Bartz and Herf mains Jecht. I don't own the game but I play Tidus.

If there is enough people in the area with the game I wouldn't mind doing a Dissidia tournament.

I'd love to play with either of them, either at a tourney or not. I have a lvl 100 Cloud, and some other "secret" chars on their way.

I hear "tournament rules" dissidia is no equips/accessories/summons. mastering the critical boosts are where its at.

once you learn all the dash techniques, some good support abilities, the right critical boosts, and an ability set to your liking, you can just play lvl 100 matches against people and its mad fun.

once you beat the game, it unlocks a really cool "dual coliseum" mode, which is super fun as well.

Relm lives in Boonsboro. The rest of us live in Hagerstown.

Relm has all of the characters at level 100. I am not sure how many characters Herf has maxed out.

Yeah there are a lot of equips, accessories, and summons, many of which are pretty broken so they are still trying to work out an equip ruleset. So no equips is the standard.



What we could do is just round out a couple of completed games and just use that for a tournament. Give everyone a little bit to practice, figure out characters, make the entry fee cheap then no one has an execuse not to enter.

The key is playing Exdeath and learning to guard everything. "Perfect" guard as some would call it. It is theoretically possible.

yea we can do a tourney for fun, i just wanna play a lot of matches too. see if they are down to play anytime this week and maybe we can work something out.

the cool thing about PSPs is that we could meet halfway and play at like, a restaurant or something, eat and drink while we play, and not have so far of a drive.

Yeah Kefka sucks. Terra is good though with her amazing holy combo. Plus her EX mode's ability is beastly. Zidane is good but facing him can get annoying.

there was an online tournament on another website, and it was actually won by the only kefka player that entered (beat out the 8 or so squalls). the game is new though, so who knows what kinds of factors play into the tourney rules, or how good those players actually are.

It can't be that vastly different from the japanese version which has been played for almost a year now. So anyone who has played since then should be good at the english version as well. I go by what has been determined by the japanese version since I have yet to see a major difference between the two.

Why does everyone play Squall and Cloud?

i have no interest in squall, but id play cloud and sephiroth the most (gay for ff7). i really like WoL though, and i havent even tried most of the bad guys yet.

Anyway Real Men go Jecht/and Tidus

Tidus is the second best punisher and deliers fast an reliable punishment. in the JPN version he has an infinite.

Jecht is just way to nice for his own good by far the best BP to HP combos in the game, if not he's definitely in top3, Ultimate Jecht shot is great OOS as long as the opponent is near. When they are away it's a great keep away tool. And once he has you in his EX combos he nearly unstoppable

Also there are character differences in jpn and us versions.
JPN 's Jecht block did damage and hitstun to continue combos. the US did not have the hit stun.

JPN Tidus could infinite, that's not there in the US.

Those are the ones I remember off the top of my head.

I noticed cloud's infinite is harder to pull off. Terra's flare seems to be a bit better. Holy combo still exist. I think Squall got a slight buff. Doesn't seem like Jecht or Exdeath changed much.

Was Ex burst banned in that tournament you showed? Because the Golbez could have used the EX guard to go into EX burst and win the match right then and there. Unless they removed that in the english game. Which I didn't think they did. There was also a lot of HP spam in that match.

Do you have a time, date, and place in mind for when we could get together and play dissidia?

EX bursts are banned, as they are simply too strong overall.

also, EX Guard is legal, but EX Counter is not. (meaning, you can go into ex mode while being combo'd to interrupt your opponents combo, but you are not allowed to retaliate immediately). This rule prevents people from just stocking their EX Gauge, and simply ex countering any form of attack, which would guarantee an HP attack, along with an EX burst, easily enough to kill your opponent in virtually all circumstances.

From what i've seen, different characters have dramatically different strats. most Zidanes ive seen go for that aerial brv-to-HP combo all match, merely chipping away until they die, while Squall/Kefka players I've seen merely rip into you with bravery attacks until they can kill you with 1 well placed HP move.

also, i can play during the weekdays of this week if you guys are down. I think Frederick, MD is a good mid way point if you guys wanna do that restaurant thing, its about 45 mins from me.

I have been saying since the japanese release that EX burst was broken. They all laughed at me back then and now look. They have come to their senses. For a time camping the EX bell was a ridiculously good and lame strategy.

I am pretty sure they do that because it is Zidane's most reliable way to deal hp damage. Then again I have seen players camp with Thundaga I think it is and come out on top.

I am really only available Friday's and I think the others are as well. If you want to do Friday I can try to set something up.

Though I'm no Slouch at the game I just need to finish my moveset for Ex death and Titus. My Jecht although only on lvl 59 should have all of his moves and should be ready to go.

Relm is a stubborn and lazy bum. He won't be joining us this saturday. In fact I think he refuses to travel with us at all. So the anyway you will get a chance to play him is if you come to our tourney. Even then it isn't a guarantee anyway.

So Greg, if you ever come to one of our tournies, could you do me a favor? **** him in both Melee and Brawl hard. He can be an arrogant SOB and needs to be knocked down a bit sometimes.
