Diddy's biggest disadvantage is Knocking Out

Her aerial KO moves dont have enough knockback (horizontal or vertical), and her smashes require a clean close range banana hit (depends on char but usually it has to be glide tossed forward [which is a risk by it itself]), and those dont have that much knockback anyway.
This disadvantage becomes more significant when facing heavier chars. namely snake and rob. Theres no way to KO those *******s without edgeguarding like a *****.
In other words, KO'ing is diddy's biggest obstacle to becoming a good character, especially because she has very uphill matches versus the good heavy characters.

I won't disagree. Vs. ROB I can sometimes tack on 200% before getting the KO.
Keep your smashes fresh, spam those glide toss => tilt combos to rack up damage.

Whilst their advantage is survivability, Diddy's advantage is Pressure play. Isai's philosophy of 'Don't Get Hit' is soooooo important in these matchups, as its your advantage in these matchups.

Opponents to Diddy Kong accept from the beginning of the match that they are going to get hit. Alot. So you've got to hold true to that.

Being able to set up traps to get those Fsmashes and/or edgeguarding are your best bet.

lol...

Heres how I look at Diddy/KO's

D3/Snake/Bowser/ROB/maybe one or two others are above the 150% threshold, where you likely won't kill them until 150%. In a normal match, when you get the opponent to 150%, you'll likely be just starting to get to 100-110%, or in other words, you'll be just entering your kill range. So, again MK, where you can KO him around 130-140 with glide toss f-smash/d-smash, your completely fine KO wise. Against Snake, where you need an extra 20%, you're in trouble KO wise (and just have to play really good). Don't get hit as often against the heavy characters.

Wrong.

Diddy covers almost all fields of advantage, even edge guarding witch you think is hard(its not hard at all, i will add this to my thread). and it all consists of patience and keeping a pace in the game, frustrating the opponent and making him feel like hes dead already.

As for heavier characters, you have no idea how easy they can be juggled/trapped/thrown off stage with just 2 bananas, they can be comboed too...

its all about learning how diddy goes around...;)...

Since when was Diddy a girl? But I agree, Diddy's KO power isn't that great but a well-timed D-smash and a fresh F-smash do it for me.

At willvolution I played a very average ROB and lost 2-1 cause he lived til 200%+ unless I spiked him and air dodged immediately after rA so I couldn't followup.

but much agreed, diddys worst aspect since day one has been killing power. Fresh uAirs are actually pretty good and kill at like 140 off rA but I usually diminish it comboing off of rA at low %'s.

youd be suprised what chars die to fresm uair/fsmash near the end of the stage, and at what percentages...

all i can say is save your kill moves at all costs

It's only a disadvantage if you're looking to KO off the side or top. My opponents usually die off the bottom >.>

Spikes, edgeguards and gimped recoveries. Edgeguarding is a big part of diddy's game imo

Otherwise I just get them up to 200 or so and then kill them with an attack I've kept fresh lol.

Diddy has a lot of low-knockback moves so it's easy to get them to high percents quickly

^ true, but i don't agree in some parts...

diddy can kill floaties with an U-Air at high percents, i think its around 130%...i dont remember...

you dont need to rack up to 200 to just kill...unless you don't really know diddy that perfectly..

what does everyone mean when they say keep an attack "fresh". Like dont use it? I use all the smashes quite a bit. Especially dsmash.

keeping it fresh means to not diminish it by using it too much, ie, using your kill moves only when they are in killing percentage, and not to rack up damage, so they essentially die faster

I like to see KOing as kind of in turns.
Say you're playing 3 stock against a Snake.

Stock 1 Snake will die around 120-150
Stock 2 Snake dies 140-160
Stock 3 Snake dies 150-180

This is generally, so to try to avoid this I'll TRY killing Snake with Fairs first stock so I can use it at it's fullest, and because it's one of, if not the weakest KO move. If I see an opportunity of course I will go to a kill with my Fsmash.

Some times when I've noticed that my smashes are diminishing my Ftilt will become my greatest kill move around 150%.

I try to save Fsmash for most of my kills, Dsmash 2nd but I usually diminish this the fastest, and not intentionally save this for my KO.

omg ftilt is amazing because half the time they don't have the right DI on it because of its insane range/quickness/(priority if I understood priority fully).

Fsmash, Dsmash, Fair are three strongest, in order.

150% damage just spam ftilt =p, it's what I do, and they never suspect the range and quickness of it, like you said and don't DI.

Fsmash, Dsmash, Fair are no doubt the best.

Uair, Ftilt, Bair, Utilt are all secondary rate kill moves but can get the job done higher percent like 140-160%

And of course there are his 3 spikes, but not the easiest to land

ok your diddy is good it can combo real good awesome did you even read the ****ing thread? seriously what was going through your head when you made this post? did you even reply in the right thread? just come and say wrong and then write some irrelevant bull**** i just love those
or your point was that diddy can ko by edgeguarding? (doesnt really come out of your post) edgeguarding isnt half reliable in brawl its not like melee. the odds are heavily against you especially against chars with very good recovery

Hey i am sorry if i offended you, really i am...

But on topic, Diddy's disadvantage is not his KO potential, if you are only relying on one move to kill then yes, his KO moves suck, but if you play fast and know what you are doing then you wont have to waste all your moves...its not a disadvantage...or atleast i dont see it as a disadvantage..

and btw, everything is reliable in brawl if you want it to be.

I use uair as like a last resort...my uair us usually stale anyway.
ah i see, but i was just commenting on who it can be used on easily and you can actually rely on it to kill :D

sorry if you come and cancel everything someone says atleast come with a reasonable explanation instead. im talking on how diddy cant ko, and that its her biggest disadvantage, and he comes and talks about how diddy can combo well and edgeguard.
and edgeguard isnt reliable as a ko method, you have to out guess your opponent by a big margin to score a kill. the odds are against you every time you try to land a hit. most of the time you can only stack up more damage from edgeguarding but not kill.
dont get me wrong, edgeguarding in brawl is in your favor, but its not a rewarding position like it is in melee.
diddy's biggest disadvantage -is- KO'ing. she doesnt have any other significant disadvantage for that matter, while chars with decent recovery and good weight, such as snake, are too hard to ko. even using fresh moves you have to wait until atleast 150 in most situations.
so fsmash>dsmash>fair , good to know
i believe a diddy's strategy should be as the following, concerning the ko moves issue
use fair during the whole stock, its necessary for combos etc, good range good ledgehop good priority. fsmash and dsmash should only be used to ko to keep them as fresh as possible. i guess diddies will have to make some research to get a very close estimation of minimum killable % on the problematic chars and use it only then.
fsmash is stronger but dsmash is easier to land and doesnt require a clean banana hit like fsmash most of the time does
if this strategy can be applied, you wouldnt need to use fsmash AND dsmash more than 3 times a match, or more practically 4-5 times which is still very fresh for two moves

and LOL wow diddy had a girlfriend well in this case my diddy is lesbian. i wouldnt be want to be called diddy, being a male but i wouldnt object being called diddy if i were a girl
and finally , if anyone has seen dexter's laboratory, the cartoon... :psycho:

Diddy is a fast faller and his aerials are kind of slow. Also his range is pretty terrible, which would force him to be a close combat fighter and because of that hes predictable. (Without the bananas)

Spikes and F-airs are golden against snake.

Dedede needs to take about 89 bananas to the face before you can even dream about thinking about imagining KO'ing him.
Maybe 90

Rob is Rob, not a lot you can do there. His Fairs and w/e-airs make edgegaurding very hard. He can fly wherever he pleases, making getting any kind of Aerial KO nigh impossible.

And to the guy up top, Diddy is a boy. Its fact. And her name was Deedee. I should know, its my moms name. Diddy as a name could be unisex, but Dixie kong is a girl bro, not diddeh

Diddy doesn't have a hard time killing unless he stales his moves. It's that simple.
