:ohwell: we'll see who's right.... diddy is just not a reasonable addition much less a guntotting jetpack flying version of him
just not reasonable, you say? and what makes Diddy and Dixie any more reasonable if Diddy isnt reasonable period?

diddy from 64 is the same diddy from the country series

and your argument about sidekicks is irrelevant. if you can't get in because you're a sidekick, get rid of falco, luigi, jiggs, yoshi, and metaknight (in some cases he was a sidekick)

i dont think diddy is cool enough to receive his own stage as others deserve it more.

@colbusman, arent you being too protective of diddy. dont scare off the diddy debaters, they wont come back. let them voice all their diddy negativities, and then pwn them if diddy doesnt make the cut, which is likely.

NeoSoul go play DK 64 unlock diddy and get the jetpack move... the jetpacks are barrels
and his guns are Wooden they both suit diddy really well
heres a screen from the DK rap.

AND DONT TELL ME THAT DONT LOOK AWSOME.... even though DKC graphics were better then DK64

all us diddy fans love it and please stop saying he wont have a move set when the first post on this thread proved it

if you call defending Diddy and making sure anyone who can't see him as a playable fighter see their wrong too protective, then yeah. really i don't care if they don't return, as long as they see that diddy can be a fighter. and i'd rather pwn them now with my debates then wait for the confirmation of diddy to pwn them

They can't. They don't have any logical reason outside their dislike for Diddy.

Makes me wonder that C-minus I got in Logic. o.o

I'd love to see Diddy enter the fray with his peanut guns.

I'm thinking Diddy hands down, but as an unlockable

I don't think they'll release any unlockables, keep the suprise. :D

you see this, NeoSoul? DK64 wasnt the piece of crap you made it out to be. the peanut guns seemed to click for Diddy because it was considered a peripheral to the jetpack not just in DK64 but now in most fans minds. i doubt theres a single moveset in this thread that excludes them. and plus, saying Diddy doesnt deserve to be in brawl is like saying DK doesnt either. after all in DKC1 or DKL1 (for Gameboy users) its not like DK had many more moves than Diddy. both could run, jump, and attack. and DK could grond slap. thats it

I like Diddy and all, but don't you people think that an entirely DK64 moveset is a little... lame and out of place?

Donkey Kong's moves aren't really taken from any games, but are drawn from the fact that he's a big ape. I just don't see Diddy having pop guns, a jet pack, and orange grenades when DK is left with what he has now, even though he is fully capable of being given a DK64 based moveset, too. It just doesn't seem right, that's all.

I kind of agree. I don't really want Diddy having guns and a rocketpack. We have enough guns with Fox, Samus, etc. And Olimar should have the only rocketpack... ^.^

DK groundslap came from DKC. all other moves were somewhat made up and got re-translated from ssb64 into melee but if DK64 had come out before ssb64, im almost positive his moveset would be much different

1. Diddy had the jetpack first.
2. it returned in Mario Power Tennis for Diddy only and thus is now a Diddy-signature move
3.most character in melee used projectiles anyway so whats one more?

look at the picture in my post it suits diddy wooden popguns WOODEN that shoot Peanuts not lazers not bombs not missiles and not a ninja death ray... and technecly there barel packs ... but are jetpacks. SSB64 was out before DK64 like DKs up b is a helicopter wanna be link moveish if its came out a bit after dk 64 they would use more of the moves... because before ssb64 came out he only had 2 moves rolling and ground pound.... but now sice its been a while Diddy had lots of moves.

ohh also this i found from wikipeadia

In 2004, the first non-Rare Donkey Kong game with DKC-styled characters was released. Namco's Donkey Konga was a GameCube music title that was packaged with a DK Bongo controller. The controller is used to keep the rhythm with the beats of covers to famous songs (as well as Nintendo video game music). Diddy appeared along with Donkey Kong and other DKC franchise characters. He would also turn up that year in Mario Power Tennis, where he had a special jetpack he could use to fly around the court

I think he should have a mainly Donkey Kong Country based moveset, and not a s****y peanut pistol and jet pack moveset from a s****y game. DKC is the series that defined his character, not DK64, and thus, his character in Brawl should be based on those games. Which is why so many people suggest pairing him up with Dixie Kong.

However, most people think DK64 Diddy is the coolest one. But you know, Power Tennis Diddy is kinda a mixture of both.

I'd say Diddy has just as munch a chance as the next loveable, yet to be included Nintendo character. It'd be fun to see him in!

thank you........ the characters look recent aesthetically but when it comes to abilities they tend to stick to the original in both senses of the term

wooden peanut guns.... barrel jet packs.... BAH!!!

I don't know why you came back. The evidence had been bashing on you the whole time. We are Diddy fans. We like the popguns and the jetpack. Smash tends to give us what the fans want (Wario, Metaknight, I could go on). If the majority of people who are Diddy fans want Diddy like this, he will be. Sakurai listens to the fans.

That's why Deoxys is a playable character and Zero Suit Samus isn't only accessible through a Final Smash.

actually we have stated we would like to see his country moves in his A attacks. his carwheel could be his running A, using his tail for aerial attacks, etc. but his special moves should show how unique diddy can be, and DK64 did just that, giving each of the 5 characters unique traits.

DK, however, was included before DK64, and therefore his moves didn't originate from DK64, but from the country series. and as we've seen from the transition to melee to brawl, the characters really remain unchanged for the most part.

i say diddy should be solo, have his A moves originate from DK Country and be chimp-like, like how DK was gorilla-like for smash. then have his special moves and Final Smash originate from DK64 (but really whatever his B moves will be i don't care, but if his Final Smash isn's his Guitar, i'm going to be very dissapointed)

That's just it though, the DK64 moves are really lame and aren't unique to Diddy Kong (except for the Jetpack Barrels), which is the whole point of special attacks. The character himself is very deserving, and I do support him in Brawl, but a DK64 based moveset isn't very original and I don't see it happening.

You act as if DK didn't use a bunch of generic strong man moves.

Keep in mind that Deoxys is only liked in America. He could be aiming for what the Japanese like(they like Pokemon more then us) or go with Lucario.

Right behind you with a knife.
The problem with making a DKC based moveset is that he doesn't have many moves in it. Diddy got really unique on his time with the N64. It's not a matter of what the fans want at that point, but what would be appropriate to fill out a moveset.

In your mind!
That I do not know, I do partially want him in (a long with some other characters). Actually I do not think he was a trophy, so I do not know what bodes for him in the future, we need the majority to want him in to get him in.

i think so. and i know dixie and k rool were their own sperate melee trophies as well.

SIDE NOTE: people need to seriously stop bashing other characters just to feel intelligent and better about their own character preferences...just putting that out there in general
