Diddy Kong Appreciation Thread: From Dinky to Diddy, From the Jungle to the Brawl.

i am not fully sure of this, but did any other trophy come from a 2nd party developer besides HAL and trophies from the smash characters? if not, then that might be why. if so, maybe sakurai was not in touch with companies outside of japan, and rare was based in europe, so that might be why too.

Many of the 'Other' series trophies were from second parties(Custom Robo, Dobutso Bancho/Cubivore, Doshin the Giant, etc.)

And you may not have known this, but there is one more reference to a Rare game in Melee. The Motion Sensor Mine and Cloaking Device were both from Perfect Dark(That is the TOP SECRET game).

In general, though, Sakurai just probably didn't think that some of them were more Rare games than Nintendo games.

I said I don't like S.H.I.T titles, but a lot of people do like the Sunshine / Windwaker / Sport titles, you have unique and original ideas and you're a very creative person I was really only thing of the I when I made those suggestions.

Your moveset was fine the only thing I found off was the Banana move, sounds like the sort of thing that Nintendo would do though, I don't want to try to make a moveset because I am busy watching Viva Pinata trailers and also it would be very similar to the one on page one, because those are the only ideas I can come up with, I'm not as creative as you.

2. As perviously mentioned, the mine and Cloaking device were from Goldeneye-PD, which Rare made.

If Nintendo doesn't hate DKC the only way to prove it is by putting in Diddy by himself, that and adding him into Donkey kong for the wii

In the japanese version, the proximity mine looks like the ones in Goldeneye and the trophy says "Goldeneye" instead the "TOP SECRET" thing. The invisibility device says Perfect Dark. However, in the US and PAL versions they removed all relationship with these games, but you can still see at the end of the credits roll something about Perfect Dark and Rare.

Anyways you should just accept that Diddy is a good idea. I see you both support characters as Lyn and Hector, which also stared just one game in a game universe where Nintendo always makes a new Lord every game. Diddy is DK's sidekick in all his games he's stared in. And seeing as DK sells better then Fire Emblem, Diddy far more know then the likes of Fire Emblem lords (except MAYBE Marth but thats only cuz of Melee).

In the west Diddy is more well known, in the East Marth is, In the merry old land of oz Diddy is more well known because Nintendo of Australia stopped advertising after the Nintendo 64 so half the people don't know the gamecube exsists.

If Nintendo of Australia does put ads on TV I havn't seen them.

And even if Diddy wouldnt be more known. He's still the best candidate for Brawl. From all the franchises, DK is the most ignored. Having Diddy in Brawl, will restore that somehow, or atleast will show that Nintendo isnt an ignorant *******. And even if they really wanted to destroy the DK franchise (or atleast everything Rare did created) they wouldn't let Diddy be playable in Mario sport games, they wouldnt remake Diddy Kong Racing or port the DKC games to the GBA...

If Diddy isnt in the game... Nintendo will sell DK to Hudson and we'll be having Jungle Beat Parties with DK, DK jr, Petey Piranha, the KISS Kongs and the Hudson Bee.

However his part in the DK stage in Melee was rather... Strange... O_O Since when is Diddy a half rapper-half rockstar? Not only the voice was driven sexual, the lines where totally diffrent to.

I disliked what they did to Diddy's part of the rap, it is incredibly hard to hear. Actually, I didn't like what they did to the rap in general.

Diddy is pretty much one of (if not the only) characters that needs to be in Brawl. Seriously, they have to had him this time, it's only fair for DK to get a partner this time round.

i loved the rap in dk64, and the use of the world hell for chunky. i found it weird that it was edited out, even though the game is T. diddy's verse was really good.
