I did a quick search and didn't find any topics on Diablo II.

Well, anyone still playing it? I was with Diablo from the start, got heavily into it, quit, and came back once again since the announcement of Diablo III. I have a pretty nice poison nova Necromancer, and am currently working on a melee Sorceress (**** right).

So, anyone else still rocking the Diablo II? What character do you have? What server?

Also, when the hell is 1.13 going to be released?

I used to run that game since I was like... 11. I had so many characters, all with like..the godliest **** out there. My hammerdin was amazing. I had a perfect eth HoZ, among a bunch of other things.

I used to play on US East, but quit a while back.

I don't think I'll be returning, except maybe to try D3 out.

And yea, I was a HUGE Diablo II player. I use to make any Paladin with Zeal skill you could think of. Now, I only play Hardcore, as I find Magic Finding dull and boring, and Hardcore mode gives you an adreline rushes, and revives my excitement for this game.

I just read the updates now, omg this is crazy good!

Very nice. Yeah, 1.13 is looking good. Didn't address many major issues, but I think it's a great addition.

We should try and do some Hardcore, especially with no school coming up, I'd be down for like a Hardcore mode SWF group or something. We should try and organizing something :D. I see they fixed Hammerdins. YES finally, they weakened Hammerdins!

I've never really given Hardcore a chance. I hear so many bad things about it, with all the TPPKing and whatnot. I'd give it a try with a group though, that would be fun.

Yes, Hardcore is really bad with TPPK, but never join public groups. I use to solo it by myself a majority of the time. My friend has died from that before, luckily he was only level 15, haha.

But yea, it's not that bad, trust me once you get into Hardcore it's kinda too fun to go back into softcore .

Have you seen the Hardcore challenge videos? A group of people cleared absolutely everything in the game on hardcore using no items. Only potions were used. No rings, no armor, no weapons. It was a group of 8 people. They did everything up until hell Ubers, Diablo clone, everything. All in one game, too. Completely emptied. Ridiculous.

And yeah, poison nova Necros are a lot of fun. Definitely my favorite build. Extremely solid for PvP, and amazing in PvE. Toss a nova out, deal 10k damage, toss a fire golem out, dead. Expensive, but good build.
I also made a melee Sorceress which was interesting. Did decently in melee duels, dealing 32k max damage. Died too fast, though.

What?! Holy crap, I must SEE that. That is seriously crazy :O!

Wow, that's is seriously uber damage 10k! I fought a poison Necro only once, in my entire time of playing Diablo 2. It's now filled with Hammerdins, Smiters, Sorceress', only Cookie Cutter builds now-a-day's . Oh and bots ! And dayum Fire Sorcs are seriously amazing though, huge input of damage! I've never seen anyone make that build before .

I make like Holy Freeze (or Thunder) + Zeal Paladin. I once made a Blessed Aim, and Zeal Paladin, and had over 52k Attack Rating, rofl. Good times .

At the moment seems like we're the only Diablo 2 players still playing, haha. I'm pretty sure there are more, I hope so! An 8 player group would be sooo epic.

1.13 is pretty cool. Buffed my class, and the added respeccing allows to level as one build and change builds a few times. I like it personally.

I'm leveling another poison nova Necromancer now on USEast ladder.

Yeah, I'll always love poison Necros. I love it because even in crappy gear it performs decently. With good gear it rolls over everyone who's not ready for poison (which is most people).

It's just tough starting over when you used to have everything. Items don't come cheap.

I play HCCL (Hard Core Classic Ladder) on US West.

Hardcore is some of the most fun I've had with any video game. A real adrenaline rush.

To push that even further I play Classic Ladder. Its really a whole new game at that point. The US West Server has a very tight knit group that plays HCCL and always welcomes new players.

Even with a group of 8 leveling your characters and making effective builds can be quite challenging. There are no godly runewords to protect your sorry *** when trouble comes. Its all group play and fast reactions at that point.

If you want to experience a true challenge in D2 give HCCL a try. You'll never switch back.

Classic, eh? I'd like to see how I far in Classic Hardcore, I'm pretty bad at Classic in General, but not because of just Runewords (I can never get any high runes anyways) I think I just lack general skill layout, but I haven't played Classic in a while, so I'm probably better now.

And that's good to know you guys have a tight community in HCCL, because over here in Expansion no one really play's HC, and everyone asks for rush , or just trading in general.

@Melomaniacal - It is, hard to start over, my friend always spoiled with me good stuff, so I never really tried hunting for good items (plus I have the worst luck ever, lol.)

The thing is, I'm a PvP guy, so hardcore isn't super appealing to me.

But yeah, my last account had two perfectly built characters. Best possible gear/charms/stats/skills. Of course it's much easier to attain perfect stats/skills now that you can respec, but the gear was a pain to get. Now I have to start from scratch.

I just lost my level 22 Bowazon (Magic Arrow build, rofl.) Died against Duriel, hit Esc. Save and Exit, but not quick enough, also drank a full Rejuvenation potion, which didn't work as well.

Ah well time to start over , just wish more people would play HC, or at least get in a group of newcomers so I have people to play with.

With the gear I used to have, I could lower enemy poison resistance by over 130%, so that solved the resistance problem most of the time. That's the glory of poison; there is no such thing as poison absorb. There are items to absorb every element except poison.

Hammerdins are always a pain. You just have to know how the hammers move.

Well, in PvP, if you don't have an enigma, you're probably useless, haha. So a Barb would just have to telestomp a Sorc. Name-lock her, teleport into her, WW immediately. A good WW Barb will one-shot every Sorc he finds, and should be able to tank her spells enough.

Also, my new amazon is doing fairly good in Hardcore, level 35 in Nightmare Act 1, does around 430 maximum damage, just trying to find a decent weapon for Insight, she uses mana like crazy...

Yeah, dealing with mana can be a pain.

Are PvE stat builds pretty much the same as PvP stat builds? When building a character for PvP, every point spent in energy is a point completely wasted. Since it's considered bad manners to use health potions, we just stack up the mana potions and dump all our stat points in vitality.

Same in PvM. Never spend points into Energy. Hardcore is pretty much the same thing except you wanna dump more points into Vitality earlier.

Except I can see Chantress' benifiting from dumping points points into Energy instead of Vitality. Why? Max out Energy Shield, and you'll have more health because Mana is much easier to get for a Sorc.

That sucks . If you registered your CD Key's on Battlenet's site, you can digitally download them . That's what I did.
