I am awful with interviews. If there was such thing as an auto-win situation with respect to an interview and you put me in it, I would manage to lose it somehow. Second follow up interview for a job and it got put on halt. Yes, I put an interview on halt. I told the interviewer my commitment was six months to a year. Because I had law school apps finished up and sent for primaries with my lsat score coming back to show me what an intellectual failure I am around the end of this month.

The job offer came after an interview drought of four to five months where I had been told to go back to school and pursue further education and skills. The job pay on entry is scaled around 20-30k with margins after a set period of time being around 40-50k. They want a two year commitment which will put me in at 25.

Experience wise, I'd love to work in this position. I'll be in the operating room witnessing and doing fun stuff. The hardest parts of the job for me is that I need to have 24 hour availability during some days (not a big issue I worked ungodly shifts in server operations) and I'll only be in charge of few accounts on start-up (limited hours) but it seemed promising and the pay beats the peanut paycheck I'm working for at the moment.

The downsides is that it's not quite enough for me to get a place of my own. I'm going to have to be shacking it for awhile with mom and pops for a couple of more years to build up those savings and it isn't a position I'd see myself in for life. It's temporal, even though the experience will no doubt be beneficial for me in the future imho. Not to mention law school is a crapshoot and has such embarrassing post-employment rates that law schools cook the books for post-legal job success.

The interviewer, the owner of the company said that a one year commitment isn't going to cut it. I apologized and told him that was an inconsiderate, albeit honest answer. I told him that if I'm going to put in more time, I need to talk things over and reassess life plans. I agreed to give him an answer by the end of this week. He likely gave me this courtesy since he felt bad about blowing me off in our last call.

So yeah. Crossroads man.

Acro you're so intelligent. Probably more intelligent than anyone on this forum (you didn't hear it from me).

It's pretty cliche advise, but I honestly believe that you got to put your mind aside and just listen to your heart. It will always work out for the best in the end, especially for someone like you. Some may see this as being overly optimistic and naive, but I just think that you're going to go pretty far wherever you choose to go. Whenever I'm in a crossroad situation (which is a lot because I'm a perfectionist and always want to make the right decision), I just flat out stop and say "What is it that I really want?" The first thing that pops into your head is the way to go. No second guess. No "but what ifs". Whatever your heart decides, go with it. :)

Tell me what to do Madoka. Guide this wayward weeaboo.

Also whatever just happened, I hope it's nothing serious. Even though this is a first to see someone express pain mid-forum post. Unless jokes.

Sorry about that. I kept hearing this sound over on my roomates side of the room. I look over and see a **** ton pile of ants. They're crawling all over his food bag. I can't even get out of my seat because there's so many and I'm really scared. I freaking hate ants I can't stand them at all. I really want to cry not even kidding. Spiders. I love spiders. They're supposed to eat these things right? I keep them alive FOR that reason. Why the hell haven't they been doing their job. wtfgod

Should fire the spiders, they might be on their last legs.
