I was trying to play off the premise of me asking for it as a joke, but I see what you mean. I know it's only about 12 bucks (For a whole freaking year) but the thing is that it requires me to have a credit card and I've tried and telling my parents that It's literally only twelve bucks and they've given me the cold shoulder about it a ton of times. I would pay for things like this myself but my parents can't even trust me with my own goddamn bank account at 18.

It really sucks when you're willing to do things and you're only limited by the people around you, I've been struggling like hell just saving up to Apex, all the funds are from my own pocket and even then I had to beg for 300 bucks for Driver's (which is starting today). It's the worst feeling.

Fo rull do, you are an adult. You should have your own bank account. I got a credit card when I was 19, and I was able to do that because I'd already been banking for years on my own, separate from the parental teat. Independence is good. Parents that don't nurture it in adult children are not doing good parenting.

Also, you say you begged your parents for the paltry 12 dollar charge. Did you try asking them assertively and and politely with the cash in your hand? No reason for them not to give it to you then, right? I remember back when I first started college and I lived with mah moms, we had that video on demand ****, and I'd rent movies all the time and just leave the cost of it in a certain place with a note that I'd done so.

FYI, there's also 6 month premie for $7 and 3 month premie for $3. Y'know, if the namechange is the important thing and all.

It's not about being able to open it, it's about my parents letting me. My mother is a helicopter and my stepdad is a drill instructor. My mom is concerned about my safety and My stepdad doesn't think I deserve to go and if I want to go I have to pay out of my own wallet.

You're going to laugh, but yes I did. I literally went and said "Okay mom, Here's twelve bucks. All I need you to do is use your credit card and here I am, giving you the money." She scoffed at me and told me that my stepdad would get upset and go on a rant about how I don't deserve anything in my life even though It was my own money.

Sometimes I feel like my parents don't want me to grow up, my Stepdad enjoys having this stranglehold on me (He's got anger issues, he insults at any chance he can get, and occasionally, he likes reminding me of all the bad things I've done and tries make his dominance certain) and Mother treats me like this little baby bird and still needs to get fed by the mouth. Any time I try to do something on my own, both of them turn on the sirens and I have to hear a pointless earful about nothing.

I didn't even mention my alcoholic biological father who told me on the phone he never wanted to see me again at 12 and caused me go into a emotional spiral throughout middle school and nearly flunked. He shows up, and he's actually the one who gave me money for Driver's. He wants to care for me but he's terrible with emotions so instead, he just buys me things or persuades me with money.

Try gettin' a prepaid credit card. They're basically practice credit cards and anybody can get 'em because.... they're prepaid, and thus require no credit history/rating.
