I find that the younger generation just has less interest to discuss or share topics that interest them. Either because they are still largely developing their own self identity or because of the second burst of internet culture where people no longer use forums as frequently to share opinions but instead they post snippets on their personalized tumblr/twitter account or take it to personal messenger/Skype.
