Cyberstorm Gaming will holding Super Smash Bros Brawl Tournaments hosted by Western New York's favorite TO, Goodies! This center boasts ambient and comfortable lighting, lots of space, high quality TVs and monitors and lots of comfy chairs and tables perfect for a tournament setting! We are going to make these tournaments biweekly generally on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. We don't currently limit the number of participants; however, I do greatly encourage members to pre-register for this event. Please read and understand the general ruleset, setup requirements and prize distribution before entering. Cyberstorm Gaming values both fun and competition. We have modified the SWF ruleset to reflect our values so that all participants will have a great time joining our tournaments.

Setup
This tournament will be Bring Your Own Controller (BYOC) required and participants WILL NOT be allowed to join if they do not have his or her own controller. We highly recommend, but not require members to bring extra Wii's to hasten matches so members will not have longer that usual wait times between matches since we only have one setup for the tournament. Cyberstorm WILL NOT be responsible for any lost or damages to any outside property brought in. Please label and monitor your equipment. We will have staff and TO to help monitor equipment and preventing any possible abuse to outside equipment. Extra Monitors or TVs can also be brought in and the same rules apply.

Prizes
Prizes will be rewarded in encourage new participants to join while retaining the previous champions. For the first week, we need to define a champion (1st place winner) and we will use the following prize setup to reward the champions for our first tournament:
1st Place: 60% of pot + Free Energy Drink + Game Store Credits
2nd Place: 30% of pot + Game Store Credits
3rd Place 10% of pot + Game Store Credits
The champion of the previous week can not enter the subsequent tournament; however, he or she must be present at the next date to defend his or her title. The champion will play the first place winner of the subsequent tourney to defend his or her title using the finals ruleset. If the champion wins, he or she will retain his title and will take 20% of the pot money and that week's winner will only retain 40% of the pot value. If that week's winner defeats the champion, he or she will be entitled "Champion" and will get to retain 60% of the pot amount. In addition, the champion does not have to pay any fees to defend his or her title.
General Rules
Singles
Format:
- Players will immediately enter standard elimination brackets.
- Separate seeding can be requested if it is so desired.
Elimination:
- Double elimination.
Match Rules:
- All matches are best-of-three. Winner's Finals and Loser's Finals are best-of-five.
- Players meeting twice in tournament play will expand their previous set to a best-of-eleven continuation.
- The Grand Finals set will be two best-of-five sets. Grand Finals will not be a continuation set.
- All matches are three stock with an seven minute time limit.
- Sudden Death will not be played. Ties are broken by stock, not percentage.
- Items will, of course, be OFF.
Stage Selection:
- After characters are chosen for the first match, both players can knock out one stage for the duration of the set. Stages knocked out do not carry over to continuation sets.
- Unless all players can agree on a stage, the first stage of a regular set will be randomly selected. If the set is a best-of-eleven continuation, the loser of the first set may pick the first stage at the beginning of the continuation set.
- After each match, the loser of the match can counterpick with a legal stage or elect to go random before characters are chosen.
- Stages cannot be played twice unless the current set is a best-of-eleven continuation. The only stages that can be played twice during continuation sets are random stages.
- All players have one reset per set. Resets may only be used on randomly selected stages during the first five seconds of play. The stage cannot be played again when randomly selected, but is still available for counterpicking.
Character Selection:
- A double blind pick may be called at any time during any set. Tournament staff will judge the selection.
- After each match, the loser may pick the next stage (or go random). After this decision is made, the winner of the previous match may change characters. Afterwards, the loser of the previous match may change characters.
- Characters may not be changed after a reset is called. Once characters are chosen, the decision is in effect until the end of the match.
Teams
Format: All teams will enter standard elimination brackets.
Elimination: Double elimination.
Special Team Rules:
- Team Attack is ON.
- Life stealing is allowed.
All other rules that apply to singles apply to teams as well.
