Recently I got the Homebrew channel which i then used to hack brawl and get custom textures as well as my own CSS. The code isn't all that long and you must have
1.A Wii (well dur)
2. A Copy of SSBB
3.Homebrew Channel
4.Gecko OS
5. an SD card
6. alot of time
7.probly some snacks too
8. Code Manager for wii (orcrina but you only need the Wii Cheat Code Manager from that, we are using Gecko.)

Alrighty first thing to do is get the homebrew channel. Use Youtube or Google. After which then get Gecko OS also from either youtube or google. After which get the cheat code manager. Then when you have all that (should take you about an hour or two to get everything ready hence the snacks and stuff) your going to open the cheat code manager the game ID is RSBE01 and the game name is Super Smash Bros. Brawl (pretty obvious) Then click add a code name it whatever you want and then click it so it's highlighted! After which paste the code

Dude, it's also a good idea to post it in the room Frown linked you to.
I'm not going to lock this, just saying that room has the perfect audience for this.

I don't like trying to play mod here (it seems ignored by our mod though..), but I think discussion on how to get the homebrew channel on your Wii is against MLG rules seeing as it can easily lead to emulation or some sort. Or providing links on how to get Homebrew Channel. So if you post it there try not to use some of those links. (it won't be necessary anyways since they know how to do some of that, but you might want to remove some of those links in the OP anyways)

Meh I guess that's really all I came to post about. =/ I might look into it more if you make the thread on the workshop so I can see some experienced feedback on it so I can understand more on what this code does o.o

The code basicly gives you my custom Character Select screen, allows you to use custom songs. Thats all basicly, i was looking for a code with both and couldn't find one so i took it upon myself to make one and post it on here so people can fine it. And i did post it onto the workshop fourm as well

Well he hasn't directly linked to any hacking resources. All he said was Google. To be fair, you can find absolutely anything using Google, so whatever.

Also, you're not the mod, if you have a concern tell us and we'll do what we're supposed to using our guidelines. Otherwise as a normal member, you can't tell people what to do.

I love how this board forbids you to link to anything about modding your Wii when there's an entire section devoted to something you can only play with a modded Wii.

You know you're allowed to link to a project or tool that allows you to do something that isn't illegal, or a step in doing something (potentially or completely) illegal.
Like I could link to one of wiibrew.org's pages of an app and not get in trouble.

I was referring to the instructional video. But it's not a bother anymore.
I've already dropped any care I had.

Yeah, it's just a huge pain in the *** not being able to link to stuff about hacking, when we have a whole section dedicated to a hacked game.

It is pretty ironic, isn't it?

I understand why the rule is in place, but it's still pretty odd...

Well it's not against the law to talk about the actual hypothetical situation of hacked games.

However, hacking and homebrew is a breach of the copyright law forbidding the editing of Nintendo published material. Therefore it is illegal to link to resources for this activity. Therefore, we cannot allow for this to happen. Sorry guys, just how it is.

The mega corporations do, when they're deving new products or suing another for breaching copyright.

Or suing people for tons and tons of cash monies for breaching their copyright substantially, you know like DVD pirates and stuff.

Can I get a reference for this law?
Because if it exists, then your avatar is breaking that law, as well. And it seems uncanny to me that there would be so many sites dedicated to homebrew if the corporations had means to stop them legally.

Or patent trolling like Anascape and many if the other lawsuits against Nintendo/Sony/Apple/etc. in Texas.

Anyway, I'd like a reference to this law too.

Yeah, I didn't think modding of Wiis was ILLEGAL, I thought we just weren't allowed to discuss it/aid it here because MLG doesn't condone it.

The Workshop "Welcome Wagon" thread says...

- MLG does not endorce modding Wiis. MLG owns smashboards, therefore you shall not speak of modding Wiis in anyway on this forum. If you need help with the modding of your Wii, installing Homebrew or the like then please go to www.google.com and get the help you need.

It should say it on the back of the box on a Nintendo product.
Stop trying to troll bobson it's really not very funny.

"Unauthorized technical modifications to your Wii console may render this game unplayable" is the closest thing to it on the back of Brawl's box. Regardless, Nintendo's TOS is not law.
And oh yes, I'm obviously trolling. It has nothing to do with the inherent inconsistency of having a rule against posting anything related to homebrew when we have a subforum dedicated to hacking the game.

When you use their product you agree to FOLLOW their ToS, and when you break it, THEN you break the law.

So, that means that we have a board that requires you to break the law if you want to play.

Did you sign a contract which legally obligated you to follow the TOS when you bought your Wii? I didn't. Therefore, me breaking the TOS is not me breaking the law, but me breaking the TOS. In doing so, I void the warranty. That's about all that happens.

If it were illegal to break a TOS, then consider the implications of me prefixing all of my posts with "Terms of Service: By reading this post, you agree to give all of your earthly possessions and pledge eternal servitude to me."

Aye, but you see, the Wii's ToS comes in the instruction manual which you're supposed to read before you start-up the system. You put your posts ToS at the bottom, and so I agreed to be punished for something which I already did (and that I didn't know I could even be punished for).

Just stop, dude.

I don't mean to be belligerent, but I can't help but feel that breaking the Terms of Service does nothing more than void any obligation on THEIR part. I've done a little researching on the internet and the general consensus seems to be that it isn't illegal to breach Terms of Service unless breaching the aforementioned Terms of Service also breaks actual laws. So, unless you're using it to play pirated games of some sort.

Besides, hardware mods would obviously breach the terms of service, and if doing so were illegal...why would Nintendo Power feature something like this in their magazine one month? All that would do is encourage people to do something that breaks the law. It seems like they would just go out and get the person charged with breaching Terms of Service.
