Cupcake Came Back?!?

In pokemon Pearl I caught a Magikarp (the first one I saw), and I named this Magikarp Cupcake. I used Cupcake the Magikarp very often until she evolved into Cupcake the Gyarados. I then retired Cupcake into my pc. I do not remember how long Cupcake was stored inside my pc, but long enough for me to want to release it.
When I went to release Cupcake, I clicked the release button and the Gyarados sprite shrank and disappeared. Now the game should have given me a message saying good-bye to Cupcake but instead the sprit came back and the game said Cupcake Came Back!!
As soon as I could I called up my Pokemon Guru for and explanation. He tested if Cupcake returned because of max love by releasing one of his own maxed loved pokemon, without saving the game of course, but my Guru's Pokemon did not return. So I am posting to ask what is going on? Why is this happening to me? And why did Cupcake Return?!?

Before anyone goes crazy with this, note three things:

ONE: This user is almost never seen posting in this particular forum.

TWO: The text used for the post is of an unusual font.

THREE: "I do not remember how long Cupcake was stored inside my pc, but long enough for me to want to release it."

I'm suggesting something, but it's not an assurance.

You have a Pokemon Guru?

I'm somehow guessing this is a joke...I've never heard of it happening, and it reeks of a joke to me.

Ugh, Cupcake was probably the only person who knew a certain HM Move....if you try to release the only Pokemon with an HM move, they will come back.

No Joke, this actually happend . I couldn't remember how long I let Cupcake sit in my pc though, but maybe I would have wroten it down if I knew this would happen.:ohwell:(I dicided to release Cupcake because my pc boxes were becoming crowded.)
And what did I do wrong posting this? Can't I use a weird font or something?

Oh the "guru" is just someone I asked why Cupcake came back before I threw out this thred because Pearl is sadly my first Pokemon game and I did not know if this is suppose to happened or not.

Thanks for HM tip Meta-Kirby.

It's true; I'm the "guru" RaymanFan3 speaks of. And, I know, it sounds impossible, yet why would you lie about something like that (I know her, and she wouldn't lie about something like this, or anything really :)). Take my word (I'm an accountable Pokémon source, I know A LOT about Pokémon [if you have a Pokémon-related question, you can PM me]), she's telling the truth. However, yes, it's true, I didn't believe it at first (because of it never occuring for me), however, long behold it's still on her game. Meta-Kirby is most-likely correct, too. Thx for that tidbit of information, Meta-Kirby!

Magikarp can't learn HMs..... oh wait, it's a Gyara, right?
yes, it's a gyarados.

Im not surprised about this happening, and I kinda glad it was brought up, because the pokemon creators obviously have put in some secret things in the game that are hard to figure out sometimes.
It might be because it was the first of the species you saw and had had it for a long time therefore it came back. or it could be what MK said.

Yeah, this explains why my HM slaves wouldn't go away. I didn't realize that they were the ONLY ones who knew the moves.

You see, If you want to get rid of it...eat it, cupcakes are usually very good.

Just teach another pokemon surf and then release it. If that dosen't work you can always leave it there >_>

LOL!

She doesn't want to know how to release it, she wanted to know why it wasn't released. I asked her to release now, and it is releaseable. It is so because she's beaten the Champion over 100 times (like all of us) and has over 20 lv100's so you would think that she would have more HM slaves. The HM slave clause must be the answer.
