Preordered Special Edition for NA since I haven't played the 3rd route (Invisible Kingdom/Revelation) yet....and planned on getting all 3 routes stateside anyway. Yaaaaaaay for getting an art book and pouch for bonuses.

Just wanted to tune in remembering a support thread for Corrin and laughing at the possibility, the stupid thigh gap on the female Corrin and the wrong feet.

Now this character is in the game.

If I had to do ranking, Corrin was probably third behind Inkling (second) and Isaac (first).

It depends on which version you get. I've heard that the Nohr (Conquest) is quite a bit more difficult than the Hoshido (Birthright) version, which is a bit more forgiving and also offers the ability to grind your characters outside of the main story, like Awakening, and most people say Awakening is a pretty good entry point for the series.

I had entertained the idea of Corrin(s) getting into Smash, and they were definitely on my wishlist, but they were pretty far down the list. I just thought that it was too early, plus we already had Robin, another dual-gender FE Avatar character, so I put Corrin in the back of my mind. Then of course the Direct came along, and now I'm still basking in the glory (and salt) of this most unexpected of fateful competitors!

Well, one would imagine that the white-haired sword-wielding avatar protagonist of a 3DS Fire Emblem title that uses a fighting style completely different from what we've seen from any other Fire Emblem character before would attract fans of Robin.

I thought about Corrin alongside Aqua. I felt that if were to get someone from Fates into Smash 4, this would be their only chance. Come Smash 5, it would be the latest game in the series that gets represented. We would probably have another Fire Emblem game or two released inbetween Smash 4 and Smash 5 and Fates had come out too late.

In the end we got Corrin and I couldn't help but laugh at their inclusion. Knowing exactly that everyone else would be *****ing that Fire Emblem is overrepresented, Corrin stole [insert favorite character here]'s roster slot, another anime swordsman got in. I enjoyed every moment of their saltiness.

Mmhmm. Character is a whole different beast, and I like a lot of what I saw even though personally I wanted Azura.

Before Fire Emblem if was even out in Japan I predicted and stated that Kamui will be in Smash 5 and that I will main him/her.

But Sakurai said "nay" and blessed me with an early christmas present.

My only gripe is the Corrin name. I'm tempted to buy a japanese wii u and play as Kamui lool.

Funfact: My name is Kamui so I will be maining myself.

I think the second one might be up tilt, just a guess. Nevermind, forgot we already saw up tilt.

These all look pretty spot on to me.

Unlikely, U-tilt was definitely the upward sword twirl thing. We saw all his tilts numerous times in the human form part of the trailer.

My girlfriend really, really, really, really wanted Corrin but didn't think they had a chance in this or the next Smash game, so I was very happy when they were confirmed. I supported them too, but I didn't think there any chance of it happening. I did support Tiki because of how interesting I thought a tranforming Manakete character would be, and I guess I kinda got that in a tangential sort of way!

Incidentally, if you removed Corrin's (friggin' demonic chainsaw) sword, they'd still be one of the most unique fighters in terms of both aesthetics and effects. Yet somehow having a sword (that is quite honestly secondary to the fact that they're a ****ing water-bending dragon-man eldritch abomination) is enough to get them dumped into the wretched netherworld of "just another generic weeb swordfighter".

Yeah, I realized the minute after I posted that we already saw his u-tilt several times, so that's my bad!

Even Sakurai himself stated that Omega Yato is secondary to Dragon Fang, but some people just get blinded by rage I guess.
