I plan on playing all 3 Fates games, and have an idea on what I mainly want to do. Not sure what I'm gonna play first, but I'm leaning towards Hoshido at the moment.

I plan to play as male Corrin for the most part. I'm going to marry everybody because I want to fill up the support log. Given that, I'll most likely leave Joker single whenever I marry a first gen, due to a combination of him being the last male to show up and me not liking him very much.

That's really up to debate, though. Elise!Ophelia isn't too far off from Nyx!Ophelia in stats.

On the topic of Corrin looking somewhat unfinished, I did think occasionally that his animations looked slightly off. But I remember having the same doubts relating to Robin's trailer, so it will probably be fixed by final release.

You should buy the Anti-Mechon weapons. Except for Melia since the only arts that would be affected are Spear Break and Starlight kick which can inflict topple anyway.

Makes sense. In other news, I find Starlight Kick to be one of the best animations. Here you have this right proper little Mage Princess, running up and dropkicking these enemies into the dirt. It's awesome.

Basically, the user named Kyoskue, claimed that he is a marketing specialist whose team was hired by Nintendo during the campaign of Smash Bros. 3DS/Wii U. The account he is using is not his but from a friend who lend it to him to protect his identity in case he was violating his NDA agreement. He is pretty much sharing some info about how the ballot characters came to be and that Corrin was basically added as advertisement for Fates; he claims he knows this due to having access to text documents during the marketing campaign and throughout his relationship with Nintendo. I recommend you to take a read to those links, and if you want more you can browse the thread he was posting in for additional info.

Of course, due to the nature of this claims there is no real way to prove he is the real deal, but what he says makes a lot of sense and it's better than the rants of "the ballot is a lie because my character didn't make it in" posts, and if it is true, then Corrin's addition wasn't added due to Sakurai bias but because Nintendo pushed for it. So this one isn't on Sakurai, again if true, and people oughta cut him some slack (They won't regardless, because hatedoms are like that).

I am torn if I should buy Fates now or wait until the english release. On the other hand, I do have an original american 3DS model, and while I can play the games in english there it is just hard to go back to it after playing on the bigger screen of the new 3DS XL.

I believe that the user said in another post that there was internal discussion over whether or not they should bring in veterans from other Smash games, and in the end they settled on bringing one from Melee and another from Brawl: Roy and Lucas. Wolf was later discarded, unless there was a sudden multi regional boom in people wanting him which seemingly didn't occur. So yeah, I hate to say it but apparently the support for Wolf wasn't as strong as some would foresee, it seems that most people didn't really missed him that much.

The bugs concerning DLC characters and difficulty implementing them are interesting. It seems that the main reason they changed the shield mechanics was because of a bug with Cloud's Cross Slash. Mewtwo had some nasty bugs initially as well which some apparently remained with him even after download, and this could explain why no DLC characters come with customs; after Mewtwo was made available one could incur some weird glitches through his customs.

An interesting read. While I wanted Inkling, their gimmick of spraying ink at the area, and the different colored Inklings reacting to each others ink, it'd be difficult to pull off as a Smash 4 DLC character. Maybe come Smash 5 in about 7-9 years or so, and we have another Splatoon game or two released, the development team for Smash might have new ways to make Inklings work.

They say he was later discarded, but, at the time, while Mewtwo and the other early characters were still in early development, and nine DLC characters were planned, he may have still been on the table. I refuse to believe Wolf wasn't at least considered for Star Fox Zero, as we know now that DLC takes advertisement for future games into consideration. I also wonder why, if they just wanted one veteran from Melee, and one from Brawl, why they didn't just, you know, make Mewtwo the veteran from Melee and call it a day. Nothing against Roy, I love him, he's my secondary, and I love the time and effort they put in to make him feel truly unique this time around, but he kind of makes the veteran DLC lopsided. After we got two Melee vets, many were expecting two Brawl vets, and a lot of people are scratching their heads wondering why Wolf isn't here, as he would have been a very easy choice.

I completely forgot about Mewtwo's glitchy, game-breaking specials, lol.
I figured that his tail might be kind of difficult to rig, and it takes up a large part of his moveset. Some of the hitboxes on his tail were suspiciously wonky, and were just fixed in the last patch. Hopefully, whatever issues they had with Mewtwo this time around wont keep them from bringing him back for the next game.

And I cant want to see how many of my favorite characters get the axe next time.

I prefer the idea that some have proposed: Porting this game to the new console and work on additional content to expand it rather than start anew. Mechanics aside, how else are they going to top the roster from this time around? Third parties are a touchy subject, which is why they are never guaranteed to return in the future.

It's funny because when she uses Starlight Kick, she falls over, and the other characters act like she's been stunned/toppled and criticize her. Listen to what they say (especially Dunban)- it's so great.

Also, Xenoblade Chronicles X's Galactic Knight also has Starlight Kick! Its animation is different and it's inferior to some moves, but it's wonderful for nostalgic purposes- especially when using Fiora's voice to say it!
