I havent heard much bout Corneria on the sonic fourums, and i belive is one of the best stages for sonic.

Reasons:

- The ships slope provides Sonic´s SD with more speed
- and Sonic can get easy kills here bc of the low ceiling even with UP-Smash

Those are just some of the reasons among otheres that i make this stage a great couterpick for sonic agaist certain characters....

The only issue I have with it is that it kinda renders Sonic's gimp game useless and most of the cast thanks to it's close to the stage blastlines, the opponent should be able to recover from most places.
However, with these closer blastlines, it helps Sonic's biggest disadvantage, killing by traditional means. Vertikills were never a problem (though this level certainly helps it.) Fsmash and Dsmash should kill at actually good percents now.
Hell, even :

F-throw -> *Opponent jumps* -> HA

Should kill at reasonable percents around the 100% mark, at one of the sides of the ship.

The only problem I have with it is that Sonic's approaches are limited on the top/front portion. It's decent stage for Sonic, but I don't feel he's got too much to gain from it. I personally would rather hit up lylat or any neutral stage for a counterpick before Corneria.

Perhaps I haven't played at Corneria enough.

i like it. its small enough to easily keep up chases, tiered to help spammage, and blast lines so close that it mindgames (WAT? Sonic bthrew to bair'd me at 56%????) So they tend to be hesitant, in my experience

obviously you havent seen me argueing this stage on our stage discussion, i think that this is his best stage by a pretty decent margin.
up smash kills!!?!?! WTF???!!?!
but unfortunately you can never pick this stage versus MK (one of our hardest matchups), D3, ike, fox and a few others.
basically anyone with anykind of wallgay or fingay
MK can shuttle loop camp the fin
Ike and D3 can CG on the fin infinitely
fox can wall shine.
anyone that doesnt get any ******** advantages, this is sonics best stage
just to illustrate my point, can someone(tenki) please tell me at what percents up smash and up throw can kill from the top of the fin

I'm just your problem~
Corneria is overrated for Sonic. The only hype is the low ceiling because everyone misses consistently getting uair kills. Left side is fun for bthrows, though.

What about traping someone into a jab lock infinite in between the tail and the thrusters? Or a VB > jump cancel > forward smash at the slope?
