I have no clue what my college plans are or where I want to go for college.

Ask me again when in 3 years when I'm a senior in high school.

It sucks; don't do it.

I'm going to a community college at the moment (I'm not stupid; just poor), which is why it sucks. It just feels like a big waste of time. It's basically like high school, but with none of my friends and teachers who don't care if I pass or fail.

Yeah, that sucks. I'm getting like no financial aid from penn state, so I'm going to be in debt for a loooong time. I absolutely refused to go to the local community college, so I'll be paying for it later :(

Yeah, debt will kill you. My brother-in-law went to College for Creative Studies in Detroit (a college I was considering until I found out how expensive it was), and he graduated with $100,000 in debt. It's ridiculous.

So unfortunately, my schooling is mostly determined by dollar amounts rather than where I'd actually like to go, just to avoid that.

Don't let me bring the party down though. Continue the frolicking.

All salutatorian and valedvics in my county get 4 year scholarship to a local university. I held off on it though because the school i went to was also a technical/computer school, so i chose a (pretty good) job. It was a bittersweet choice, bad in that my friends are all having a good time in college, but good in that i make more than most of their parents.

I'm finishing up my 2nd year at my art college down here and im trying to decide where to go to finish for my BFA in Animation...

It turns out that i'm gonna have to pull out some loans in order to continue, im just trying to keep my debt low. The animation program over here is incredible for such a small place and its for at most half as it would cost for a normal high-end art college.
The tuition for it is about 14-15k / year atm while the schools i'm looking to go to cost at least 30 to 35k in tuition alone, but their merit scholarships percentage decrease off the total cost is crap compared to this school.

The only thing i'm worried about is landing a job after this in such a highly competitive field, otherwise that debt is just gonna keep piling up.

Other than money, its freakin awesome if you love this kind of work. Eighteen credit minimum is usually case for this field. I work 1 day a week at a part-time job and im still pushing deadlines close on edge without putting in the minimum. Almost everyday i get 4-6 hours of sleep, but if you love doing it, you can stand it.

I just wish there were outside scholarships for art schools that are merit based... of course there are plenty if you are ENTERING your freshmen year out of high school, but other than that there doesn't seem to be anything but merits that the individual colleges offer.

I definetly have college plans to start out on January 2009 as a freshman. I know it's going to be rough since it's really going to cut into my social life as well as my job, but gadly, by then I will already have enough money to fend for myself, as for now I am just glad to be living the "easy" life meaning I don't have any major responsiblities yet, but at least when I start out college, I know I won't regret it.

I'm a Junior. And I STILL have no idea where to go and what to do.
Or at least, I am unsure.

Two days ago kind of changed my thoughts about things. I had to go to the auditorium for art class for something with the class.
And this lady was talking about Ai, The Art of Institutes.
I'm actually interested in some of the stuff they have there.
If all that goes downhill.
I guess being a Psychologist is my backup plan.

I'm thinking about College.

I don't know what I'll major in though, I'm a Junior in HS right now so it's still hard to decide.

..I'll probably end up going to Master Commission before anything though (http://www.atldcmc.org/).. so that'll give me more time to decide.

And the Art Institutes in Atlanta sounds pretty interesting to. They have lots of stuff that interest me. Like designing animations for games, or something around that lines.

I've been thinking about college lately (Junior in HS), but I don't know what to major.

At first, I was thinking of majoring Illustration in an art school, then Graphic Design, and now I'm considering Cullinary Arts. Any advice, anyone?

Don't go for Cullinary Arts, but that's just me.

Choose what you like best I guess. I've heard people going in and coming out with something completely different from what they went for.

The reason I'm considering CA is because there's always a need for it. And I like cooking. More practical, right?

...I'm, uh, just guessing on that. I've done NO research yet on any of those majors. (Of course, I know what they're all about...)

I've heard some things about Cullinary.

I could probably do decorations on food myself, but other than that I don't like cooking. Never really interested me, but it's a creative career.

I'm a junior at Lehigh. Going for a degree in Industrial Engineering.

I've been thinking about going for an MBA right away, but I'm not sure if I should.
