What do you collect? Anything weird? How much is your collection worth? How much money, time, and effort have you put into it, and has the collection been worth it?

Me, I collect Guitar Picks. I've been collecting Picks since I was probably 8 or 9, right before I started playing guitar. Big ones, small ones, thin ones, thick ones, shiny ones, dull ones, customs, brandnames... you name it, I probably have it on a pick. I don't think they're worth too much, due to them usually being very cheap, but over time I've probably spent a great deal of time and money in my quest to collect.

I'm not much of a collections kinda guy, but a friend of mine is starting a nintendo coin collection...I thought that was kinda cool...

Well, when I was 12 years old, I loved collecting Pokemon cards. Then the trading card game sort of died. Then came Yugioh at age 16/17 or so (my friend got me into it), now I don't collect them anymore. I always collected things more for the sake having them since it gave me a good feeling.
Like when I was 6/7 I collected sea shells and pebbles.
Today, I'm grown up....and still collect things with a passion ^^ Minerals for example. Can't get enough of the shiny things, they are beautiful and interesting, and it's hard for me to stop collecting things in the first place, so I'll probably still be doing this when I'm 30 ^_^

It's just a wonderful feeling when I hold something in my hands which is not only worth this or that price, it's holding something which supports my interests, like all things Japanese, minerals as I already mentioned, and so forth. I feel like I'm part of something there, that's why it gives me sort of confidence in what I'm doing.

I'm collecting manga now for 5 to 6 years, I've got more than 400 volumes and several anime DVDs that are worth a fortune. And I'm proud of it.

Like Crystallion, I was kinda into the cards aswell.
The thing is, I didn't collect though, or trade much. I just kicked my friends a**es in battles. I was into Pokemon, YuGiOh, Magic, and now we're all 15-16, so we're not into that stuff anymore. I watch Chaotic and think it's really cool, so I want to try and get my friends into that, but yeh.

I collected Pokemon Cards, Pokemon Toys, and Yu-Gi-Oh Cards when I was little.

Now I collect..well..Roms, Music, and naughty material.

And only reason I have roms is because I want to keep my classics alive.
When I'm like 50 years old, I want to be able to show my kids how gaming was back in the day.

50 years from now they probably will have a Xbox 5 or something. Halogram graphics and virtual gameplay.

well do my video games count? i have lots of thos. i also still have all my old consoles and all of them still work. so i guess thats kinda a collection.

i collected and built gundam models since i was 9 years old. i got bored last year, so i still have a few that are in progress.

I've collected so many thing over the years. I have like a ton of old baseball cards and stamps my grandpa gave me. Pokemon cards were a big deal back when I was 10-12 I think I still have all of the original 150 somewhere in my room. I'd even collect the little toys and such can't find them anymore though. Man those were the days.
I also have a whole bunch of WWE action figures but I haven't bought a new one in like 2 years so I need to start buying those again. Now i'm just collecting Wrestling things like cards, magazines, memorabilia, etc. Though if something intrests me i'll usually start collecting it cause it's fun.

Not sure how much all of that is worth.

Forgot to mention legos I loved those things.

Hmm..well since when I was 6 years old, I've been collecting action figures @_@ DBZ, Digimon, Marvel, Capcom, Gundam, pretty much any that looks cool. I used to play with them but now I just buy them and keep them in the package :D

When I was younger, I use to collect the new quarters each year, but then as a few years past, I got realllly lazy and I stopped collecting. I have most of the ones from the previous years. The only ones I don't have is probably 05, 06, and 07.

Anything that a 14 year old can drink and comes in a glass bottle I collect =P Although I would say most of the collection is worthless, each jones soda bottle cost me a $1.29 so....

I currently hold zero collections. Collecting has never been a project that I've decided to immerse myself with. The only thing that is remotely close to a collection is my Calvin and Hobbes books, as I have ~eight-ten. Calvin and Hobbes is by far my favourite comic, but I also like Green Arrow, and my friend has stacks upon stacks of DC comics.

My mom made me collect quarters back when they first started doing the fifty states thing. I didn't mind, seeing how I got free money, but it was still really weird. She's lost interest since then.

Heh, I still have my collection of rare Pokemon cards and Hot Wheels, however, I never bother to collect anymore (for obvious reasons ).

Hopefully they'll be worth something...some day.
