nono, This is one thing i can agree on, Muk is simplistic in design and that suits the theme of the character perfectly (that being, a **** off huge pile of sludge) and everything sorta says 'slow and menacing, and pretty toxic too'
garbordor is muk spiritual younger brother, but with an overdone design that would be better suited to a 5 year olds sketch book full of 'random **** that the power rangers would fight'

I feel that the gen 5 pokes (some of them) are just over detailed and/or too powerful.

I mean like, tons of the last evolutions in gen 5 are OU for the reason of OP

...Though Ferrothorn was great with its brokenness for beating B1/W1

...Metathorn :p

They probably did that on purpose to basically force people to use Gen 5, otherwise no one would have bothered.

Man whats all the gen 5 hate? Gen 4 was probably the most disappointing set of pokemon. Then again, I've always loved pokemon since forever. So many 1st gen fanboys =P.

Gen 3 is probably my favorite overall. I think it has the best pokemon, the best gameplay/mechanics improvements (<3 double battles), the best graphics/aesthetics ... I dunno about the story, but that hardly counts in a pokemon game. I haven't played Gen 5 but the stories before that have all been really bad by RPG standards.

garbordor is crap tho
That's what I was saying lol

My thoughts exactly. Muk's cool. :p

I mean Chandelure.

What else could you want in a Pokemon?
See, he is cool looking and the typing is neat, but he exhibits the main problem I have with a lot of Gen 5's Pokemon--it's clear they were running out of ideas. I cannot stand the Pokemon that resemble man-made objects (gears, lamps, sarcophagus, ice cream, garbage, etc.). They're animals, dammit lol Make them unique looking creatures like the first three gens.

That's practically my view on it. Gen 4 was boring for me. Gen 3 had it spot on. My only complaint about the gen 3 games was the amount of time spent on the water in the later half, but even that wasn't that big of a deal for me. Gen 2 is probably my favorite because we get two regions to explore in one game AND you get to destroy Ash/Red at the end. :)

You can fight Red in BW2 :D

My order is: 5, 3, 2, 4, and then 1 waaay behind. I need more than 6 items in my bag thank you very much.

But the BW2 story isn't half bad, definitely one of the best. (I actually dound myself interested in what they say for once, not just spamming B so I don't talk to them when they finish)

What about magemite then? That's made out of man objects like magnets. 1st gen will always be loved for its nostalgia and being the first original set, but I even find some of the pokemon there lacked creativity. Voltorb lawl. First gen games were fun as to glitch with though. Wigglytuff and the legendary birds are awesome. <3

When it comes to the creative team and new pokemon, Theyve made some right wastes (but because of the story surround it, they had to remake the zubats, the geodudes, the ratattas, etcetc) but other time theyve have some brilliant ideas, chandelure, galvantula, scrafty, ferrothorn, some of the designs and stuff are brilliant! The story is a lot more compelling than those of previous gens (from what i know) too

Exactly this. In BW you could only catch/encounter Gen 5 Pokemon until you completed the game, which in reality is not nearly as bad as it seems. Yeah, there are always some weird Pokemon, but I think Gen 5 really made up for it with its new additions. What I really think increases the interest of these new Pokemon is that they weren't just making up new unearthly looking creatures and recycling/remodeling old ones, they were adding completely new animals into the scene. There was no chinchilla Pokemon, there was no flying squirrel, there was no badass crocodile and there was no "legendary" blazing moth (seriously, it's pretty cool). Overall Gen 5 introduced extremely helpful things like rustling grass to signal a rare Pokemon and dark patches of grass to encounter the stronger Pokemon in the area. Not to mention you can use TMs infinitely like HMs now. Combine that with a homage to every single Gen in some way through some area designs and Gen 5 is basically the biggest revival Pokemon has had since Silver and Gold (imo). It's just packed with new, actually quality new and not 95% rehash, and that's what makes it as great as it is. If BW was annoying with the Gen 5 force, BW2 would be the ideal game for you as it's no bounds on Gens and full speed ahead (not to mention explaining gaping holes in the BW story, hence why it's BW2).

tl;dr Gen 5 is so good because it has truly epic features, and original, un-rehashed Pokemon (based on real animals not depicted before). Not to mention a deep story.

GENERATION EQUALITY
CAN'T CATCH 'EM ALL IF YOU IGNORE ONE GEN

Thiiiiiis

All that said about Gen 5, currently my favorite gens are 2-5-3-1-4.

2 simply because Lugia is so awesome.

3 is kind of tied with 1 though, too.

/end completely biased Pokemon rant.

Volcarona isn't a legendary.

Oh and to whoever said BW had the most OP pokemons, here are the current usage statistics:
1. Politoed
2. Ferrothorn
3. Dragonite
4. Scizor
5. Genesect
6. Heatran
7. Tyranitar
8. Breloom
9. Gliscor
10. Rotom-Wash

1/10 are Gen1, 3/10 are Gen2, 1/10 are Gen3, 3/10 are Gen4, 2/10 are Gen5

If you ask me, Gen5 is pretty balanced.

Yeah, that's true. Its depictions in BW/2 seem to hint otherwise, so I guess it's really mostly a non-legendary "super rare" kind of unique Pokemon (like Zorua/Zoroark). Volcarona was (spoiler)
depicted anciently and had a whole passageway/hall dedicated to it
so it can be a bit misleading though, I think XD

While I don't agree in the slightest-because i love magneton more than life itself-I can see what you mean, but it did have some rather sick designs. Allows me to present a select few cases:

1. Scolipede and its whole generation line

This beast (and its predeccesors) are based around centipedes and millipedes. While this in itself isnt particularly interesting, The last evolution is based on the scolopendra gigantea (notice the start of the name, same as the pokemon itself) which is the most badass itsect to walk planet earth at this point in time
To eat, It hunts various prey like TARANTULAS and similar stuff. But the most amazaing thing is that face that it catches birds OUT OF THE SKY by hanging onto a tree using its back legs and snatching at a bird flying past with the top half. Like a boss.
back onto the pokemon itself, It's pretty simplistic in design, but It holds true to its numerous influences.

2. Scrafty

Scrafty looks reasonably bland, Although its typing, stats and moveset make it a complete wildcard on any competitive team.
Regardless, It's billed as a lizard that wears its shed skin like clothes, And you notice that the 'clothes' it wears are the same as the skin of its prevolution scraggy, A nice touch IMO. The rest of the design sort of comes together (right down to the bored expression) to make sense when reading its description (which basically says it hangs around in groups and causes trouble) And you realise that the entire character is basically GameFreaks take on gangsters/hooligans/wiggers/chavs/what ever you want to call them. Bear in mind Unova region is meant to be america (or new york to be more exact) so it's quite a clever character by design.

3. Galvantula

Look at this mother****er, look at it!
I'm biased because Its my favourite gen 5 mon, But its just amazing in everything, niche role in competitive play (its UU, but can do OU decent enough) and stuff.

I'm going. I'll probably enter Brawl even though I basically only play P:M/Melee now. I wish I could get invited to enter P:M, but I don't know how. :(

Being made of magnets != being a giant floating magnet (in comparison to being a giant floating gear)

And even the idea of Voltorb, while his design might've been simple, they still managed to incorporate that simple design into the game in an interesting manner (i.e. accidentally encountering a wild Voltorb instead of picking up an item in the Powerplant).

Fair enough.

I even went back and looked at all the 5th gen Pokemon, and I realized I was a bit harsh. The entire gen isn't bad. It has some nice stuff. for sure. Just doesn't compare to the previous in my book. :p
any1 in here going to APEX?
