Also, why didn't the Timezone stay future again? Did Omni just bluff his way into making Rajam sacrifice his ONE REMAINING ADVANTAGE?

I mean, after I was lynched, I wanted Omni to win, but SERIOUSLY?!

Wait... chibo, you weren't trying to act scummy in order to avoid a NK/recruit...

*facepalm*

God****it chibo, you're better then that, I know you are.

Oh, fun fact guys, the endgaming situation with the indies required them to have 1 vote on each, if you guys had stayed at future, you would've won.

*looks at winners of this game*

*realizes they were outed day 1*

*realizes town was alone almost immediately after that*

Nah, they good.
If it wasn't omni and town wasn't so bad, and pierce wasn't V/LA then town would've won.

Also, did anybody notice my gambit to make sure I didn't get hit with a NK d1?

After SL was revived I was like 90%~99% sure Pierce was town, and I thought joel was the scum. I started to follow the "plan" and lynched DMG just because, since I wanted to lynch joel really. When joel turned out as town, I thought we already lost the game because I thought Omni was the scum with a NKill ability. When we the game wasn't over after the lynch over joel, my thought was like "ok Indies didn't NKill me, so they are not spawns and Pierce is"... I was totally blinded by thinking all the time there were spawns left and I forgot intentionally all the evidence pro-Pierce

Also, why didn't the Timezone stay future again? Did Omni just bluff his way into making Rajam sacrifice his ONE REMAINING ADVANTAGE?

I mean, after I was lynched, I wanted Omni to win, but SERIOUSLY?!
I always believed it wasn't allowed to bluff bolded command abilities like that Countdown thing; if I knew there was a chance that that thing was a bluff, I wouldn't have cared about picking Future again just to see

Yerp.

super tired. just woke up. i'll comment more on the game later but geez that was tiring.

the way our role works is that scamp and i quick lynch anyone not ourselves when there's 5 of us and also force a different timezone. rajam wanted me to vote pierce first which made me sad. really thought the game was over. then realized the only way out was to let them lynch themselves.

shaya - gj for your first game. claiming that edreeses roleblocked u sealed the deal. try not to make connections that could intentionally out your partners and vice versa off a flip.

edreeses - u did well

.joel - u did well

pierce - u did well. u played correctly and thus i had to kill you asap while making everyone not trust you. it worked cuz i believe .joel, rajam, and sl were on the omni train

dmg - u didnt really do much. kinda just leaned on your role. i hope u learned how to play mafia

rajam - u did a good job for your first game. im sure u learned a lot this game and will come into later games with a completely different mindset. assumptions are bad. especially if they're based on flavor. remember to concentrate on behavior and focus on sniffing out scum teammates. like coming to the conclusion that i had a counter ability was hilarious; don't do things like that.

sl - very sad your ability outed me and scamp so early. we didnt even get a chance to claim town masons which would have made it 10x easier for us to survive.

chibo - u play so scummy, lol. easy lynch was easy and i didnt want to have your randomness interfere with our game

adumbrodeus - good game. i knew u were scummy but i couldnt pin you as mafia. the flip made a lot of sense

-----------

robo is broken. he can be repaired... then become a confirmed double voting townie. the combination of that and a revived chrono = 3 confirmed votes for town. very scary.

more later but yea good games

You knew I was scummy cause I intentionally made myself scummy enough to not get NK'd and then not recruited, and it worked.

I found out from shaya i was a top choice from N1 after we killed him, at least before i pulled my initial gambit. But otherwise I was pro-town, I had to scumhunt agressively because I couldn't afford to die before I got my target.

Basically, that was me playing town with a power role, for the first time in this group anyway, cause that's basically what I considered myself this game.

Btw, thanks omni, I mostly based my style off yours and it's serving me well here and on mafiascum. That, and I'm developing some really good reading abilities.

Lol, I'll show you what I'm like as scum when I get to play you guys as scum.

Town made a major mistake in trusting independents. You should only not lynch them if it's lylo, because they're not on your side. In a more experienced crowd they would probably have been lynched again after their revival.

I do things like that sometimes in small doses, but wasn't particularly aiming for that here.

idk I just love being in a confirmed townie position lol

I disagree Marc, at that point in the game, the cult was of a greater concern then indies with unknown roles, at the very least they were controllable, and town definitely could not afford to waste valuable lynches on reviving indies with a cult recruiter around.

This reminds me of a game I played on mafiascum, where there were 2 scumgroups of 4 each, but town only knew of 1 at the time.

The last member from scumteam 1 accidently made it pretty obvious he was scum, but the dominant scumtell at that point (which won town the game eventually) was concentrating one the last person from scum team 1 instead of scumhunting for scum team 2.

Granted, it was lylo in that game, but the point remains that know that you know and can lynch any time are FAR less dangerous then scum you don't.

However, after Edreeses died, there was no excuse for not killing them. He didn't flip as a recruiter, so mafia had no way to bring down town beyond votes.

I had a pretty convincing bluff if we became the next target. The fact that our revival condition was unknown to town was good.

This game became ******** hard after Day 1.

@Rajam: About 15 here on SWF and 10 on MafiaScum. And a zillion on AIM. This was probably the hardest win I ever had to work for.

First of all, congrats Omni and Scamp! (And Adumbrodeus) Omni you played a ridiculously good and impressive game, you deserve it.

I hate to say it, but town, I told you so!

I want to send a direct strong message to everyone

I can't believe you guys believed Omni about his win condition

I told you he was lying about it. Killing all lavos spawn is the most laughable win condition I've ever heard. I just don't understand why you guys believed it. My heart was with town after I died because I started out town. I even warned you guys. I said you should use independents to help you, but don't give them full trust like that. I was completely shocked that Pierce was lynched.

Town made a major mistake in trusting independents. You should only not lynch them if it's lylo, because they're not on your side. In a more experienced crowd they would probably have been lynched again after their revival.
The sad thing is I posted a direct quote from Omni himself that independents are scum and should be lynched, and Omni's who was confirmed independent, suddenly had a change of heat on his own philosophy. I understand wanting to lynch a few people first, but after Lavos himself was discovered, how could you not gun for confirmed scum. (anyone that is not town is scum!!)

Shaya I don't think targetting me was good strategy. I was so pro town and I was strongly for lynching you before you got me. Any change of behavior and people would suspect me, so I was at a serious loss as to how to behave :( The ONLY way to keep acting the same way as I did before was to keep gunning for Shaya, but then that would cause him to get lynched (as he did) and we'd be screwed. if I didn't gun for him anymore and I didn't play the same people would see me as spawn. I felt like I was screwed either way after being spawn because of how strong and vocal my play was the first two Days.

I'd also like to note that I had good vibes this game. I knew Adumbrodeus and Shaya were both NOT town, choosing to target them with my spawn killing ability the first two nights. Unfortunately my ability didn't work on either because they weren't spawn, but at least I was right that they weren't town.

It's kind of my own fault. I was going to tell you guys I was the only spawn before I got lynch so at least town could win (Hey, I was originally schala you know, if I was gonna lose, i'd get a semi victory from it) but I was literally away from the internet for a week and a half and when I came back I was a bit too busy to really play and got lynched. Oh well. Fun game nonetheless!

Edrees. By the look of it, Shaya hit you N2. He couldn't hit me, so he saw you were buddying with me and I was controlling the game, so he hit you. I think it would've have been a way more effective play to continue buddying with me, and just slightly shielding Shaya, while casting heavy suspicion onto other townies like .joel. You really threw off your cover pretty badly when you went from "Pierce, you're an awesome townie and I'm glad to be teaming with you," to, "Pierce is scum and needs to die," in the course of a game day. Hinting at other townies and stuff would have possibly broken town's trust in me. I feel that as a vanilla mafia member, you should have been more distracting, to let Shaya have some free reign. If he were able to live one or two more days and start breaking the ranks of town down, I would've been hard pressed to win the game. Even if you got yourself lynched, but let Shaya hit someone else, that's as good as a night kill for Mafia, and allows Mafia to build up momentum. In short, your blending would've been way smoother if you didn't turn on me so quick. I loved playing with you, especially while you are town, and if you keep playing, I will consider playing again, mDaybe.
You are completely right. I just felt cornered because I had nobody to target and I wanted to look like I was scum hunting. Poor decision on my part choosing you after we got along so well day 1 and 2. however, the plan was that I was going to try to get lynched. I WANTED to look scummy because as it stood either shaya or myself were gonna get lynched, so I was trying to get either someone else lynched or me...shaya and i decided it's okay for me to make crazy accusations, and that he should be the one blending in, because he can recruit more players.

Rajam - u improved massively as the game went. look forward to playing with you again. i hope u learned not to give complete trust confirmed indies though. can't believe you lynched DMG after he revived you

DMG - Should be a bit more active. nice playing with you though. ur claim was very believable and good. I felt terrible u got lynched after what to me was essentially something that confirmed ur alliance to town

Pierce - I honestly feel like you played a great game. I think if we were playing with more experienced players here, your play after I was lynched would have eventually lead to town's win. I don't think it's your fault at all because you were the one putting suspicion on the indy's other than me, and the only one on town's side who still wanted to lynch them over other townies late in the game.

chibo - i feel bad u got killed by joel's mistake. game woulda been way way different.

joel - ur play was quite different this game from last and i knew u were townie all along, very good play.

shaya - u got me back for killing u last game by recruiting me. LOL

scamp - congrats on the win..It was smart of you not to post much, if you and omni had more information and inconsistencies to draw from (double the posts) it mighta lead to more suspicion on you guys from town. having one voice was the smart choice

shadowlink - Not much else you coulda done, dead most of the game. appeared kind of scummy at beginnining but IMO not enough to deserve to get lynched. played well after u got revived

OS - thanks so much this was a very amazingly designed game. I had a ton of fun. I even got my favorite character (Schala) but my ability ended up being useless considering i was the first and only spawn in the entire game. lol

The ending was really, really painful to watch. XD! I was really impressed with Omni/Scamp's bluff though, GJ.

It was very fun watching this game overall. Grats Indies!

congrats to omni and scamp, omni's play was great.

the last part was amazing, what with the time countdown stuff and all which rajam actually believed. guess part of it is rajam being overthrown by the whole situation.

i actually was getting desperate in the end of the game, that's why i partly committed suicide. i didn't care enough, though i would've killed off the indies before pierce. would've made more sense.

also, i'll name the child: adumbrodeus was one of the main reasons why i was losing my interest in the game. he kindasorta pushed my motivation down so much with his verbal steam that i actually considered committing vote-suicide on that one day i got blocked.
and in the end, i even was right that he was scum, since he was indie (despite one with semi-town-alignment).

Edrees - Lurking is my preferred style. Not the most effective without blind trust, however.

While I did have fun in the game I have to express my dislike of the format. I think it could work better (for me, anyway) with some tweaking but essentially it was like having a mafia of one. When I figured out that no one could die outside of lynching (and Chrono abilities) the game just felt really slow to me. Luckily I had a role in the game where I didn't really have to do anything inside of the game, that was nice.

But yeah, in a nutshell I felt like the danger was gone from this game. Still had fun though. Good games to all, and thanks to OS for hosting.

Joel... I'm sorry but that's the way you pressure, you acted scummy and that OMGUS was just the icing on the cake.

If you hadn't gone been like, "I knew somebody would respond", then it just would've been anti-town, still a bad move, but wouldn't have brought the pressure it did.

TBH that entire exchange seemed like one massive scummy breakdown, and you're lucky I realized that your frustration was pretty much the same situation I was dealing with last game and read you as frustrated town.

Sorry Joel, it was a very bad play, and since my objective was to smoke out lavos, I went after you, cause I read that and was like "scum". Especially the namecalling... yeah.

I know when Joel read me as scum, but when did the rest of you?

I read you as scum on day 1 . That's why you were my first target. lol. It was because you weren't really voting for anyone, but you were throwing around accusations. I looked at ff6 mafia and you were voting a ton, so I thought it was you avoiding concrete ties with people.

I meant when in day 1?

Also, heh? I was tossing my vote to whoever was the most suspicious at the time. I think I had the record for most vote changes d1.

*goes back and checks*

Yep.

I wanted to go to 1000 AD in order to get my power mainly (I wanted to confirm what Pierce's power was, it failed, obviously, which was when i realized he couldn't be lavos and why i stuck my neck out for him), though I did believe it was the most likely spot for the doll.

I also thought it woulda been cool if Magus and Schala has some kind power together. u are my brother afterall lol
Well, we basically had the same ability, I think that qualifies lol.

Errr, I was votehopping like a madman d1, I had votes on 6 different people before the day ended. It's my attack style, votehopping combined with a bit of minimalist, I attack whoever's scummiest at the time with votes combined with questions to try to draw out information and keep hammering away till I'm satisfied. Actually, both you and omni commented on how much more agressive I was this game and you were initially suspicious of me because of that, got omni to back off that way (I'm not counting that cause that was simply bad meta on both your parts).

lol gg town. Endgame situation won for town if you just followed what Pierce and I layed out. Endgame with Spawn not appearing anymore, what other faction is left? The indies. Even if there was 1 spawn left, all we had to do was waste 1 day lynching them to kill 2 people. As it turns out, there was no more spawn left and we simply killed off each other without reverting to the "fall back" of killing Indy's before moving deeper.

Lesson to be learned? Don't do that again lol.

With a double voter and a revenge lyncher on my side I'd feel comfortable in that situation.

It was hard to predict. If I couldn't get support for my innoncence I'd just rally support against someones scumminess.

False security, nonexistent threats, false glimmer of hope, creating distrust among town while gaining trust from others, and killing offf anyone who became too cautious.

That's mafia.

It did feel pretty slow to me too. That happens when you kill the recruiter D2 and his recruitee D3 and have the only two confirmed bad guys running the show and picking off town, haha.

Blargh, i was so upset that Rajam got sucked by Omni into voting off Pierce.
I was actually planning to vote out Omni and Scamp because of how badly things were going with the votes in the last days.

I was extremely bothered by the lack of night kills during the end.

Sorry Pierce, T^T if I had posted earlier I might have been able to save ya.

More alternate shenanigans that could have happened:

I originally thought about having End of Time result in a random time period

Lavos Spawn would turn into Lavos after 3 days of surviving (found this too broken)

I really don't think there's a way to institute Night Kills into the game later on without breaking the balance, especially with how Masa/Mune work. It's an inherent flaw in the game that can't be solved without serious meddling, I think.

you suck for giving me the worse safe claim in the history of mafia :p
Especially with 99% of the players deducing things from flavour lol
Lavos was supposed to get his safe claim from his recruits, haha

Yeah, this wasn't a typical Mafia game. Recruitment games simply don't work well with nightkills. It could be worse though. Look up "Assassins in the Palace". :p

That said, the BBR would benefit from the next game being more typical again. I'm interested in seeing the FF4 setup, OS. :)

Just for the record:
You were ONLY person who did this (except for asking why I chose No Lynch), and you were not pressuring me, you were tunneling me to the most extreme level I've ever seen. Like there was nothing else for you to do than continue bringing up the same statements over and over and over and over and over and over again.

OF COURSE I grew frustrated by your stupidity. That went so far that I simply wanted to quit the game because you were so tiring and destroyed my motivation.

We should have worked harder to get my lynched rather than Shaya and have shaya use my safe claim
Shaya would not have been any better off with your safeclaim, your claim had the same basic problem as his did.

**** it, not gonna get into this argument again, all I'm gonna say here is, I stand by my actions, a response I would've accepted was "I made a mistake", and what I was doing is considered a basic attack strategy in the game.

Beyond that, deleted the majority of my post.
