Christmas '07 Thread

Christmas is almost here. The time when you go see the family and gain 10 pounds.

I'm curious to know what members of Smash World Forums are doing for the holidays! What gifts are you going to ask for and what do you plan on doing? I'm interested in everyones plans!

For me I always go to my grandma's on Christmas eve. It's been a tradition since I can remember. We usually get there around 4 and leave at 9. I often get bored there so I tend to just eat whatever is on the table then go to my room there and just watch some TV. It gets really annoying when family members give me bad looks when I don't "Dress" like them (I'm a scene kid so... tight jeans, converse, band shirts, long hair... its my thing).

I usually ask for a couple of games from my grandma. This year I'll probably ask for Super Paper Mario and Links Crossbow Training (Mostly for the wii zapper). From my parents I'm just wanting a 360, Halo 3 and a gamebridge capture card.

How was his thread spam?
Well I didn't really mean spam...Let me say what I truly meant. It was really... Unorganized and a one liner with a signature violation. I don't want to discuss this any further because the thread has already gone off topic with this argument.

Mods its up to you if you would like to close the thread or not.

I gotta go with most people. This one is much better. I won't close the other since it was made before, but it sucks.

My Christmas days are usually pretty much the same every year.

I never do anything special for the holidays. My day begins with me sleeping in late. Then, after waking up, I go buy lunch at Jack in the Box because that's the only food place that forces their pathetic employees to work on Christmas. I spend the rest of the day playing the one or two new games I bought with the money I recieved which I had already opened and used a week before Christmas even began. Then my mom's friends come over and they bring with them their children, most of whom I dont like. My mom and her friends cook Christmas dinner, none of them can cook, by the way, which I end up force feeding it down my throat because I dont want to insult any of them. Weeeee

Oh, and this Christmas will be a good one. I'm buying all three seasons of Arrested Development and watching it through Christmas break. The rest of the presents wont compare.

So far I don't have any plans. I don't usually have them either. I'll probably have a birthday party. (hopefully, I didn't get around to having one last year!) but that's like the only plan I can think of.

As for what I want... A saxophone. That's not happening, though. So, really... I don't know what to ask for. I suppose just money. Maybe if I get enough money it can help me get one later on in the summer after I get a job.

Although I do want a Wii, I really have to make decisions here and I have a strong feeling that Brawl will disappoint me somehow since I've hyped and obsessed over it so much.:ohwell:

Generally everyone comes over to my house the night before to cook and whatnot (and it's easier than having everyone cart over gifts and whatnot the Christmas day) Then the day is as follows:

-Wake up
-Open presents
-Fiddle with all the new stuff
-Eat
-Fiddle with all the new stuff some more
-Eat again

And that's about it. As far as my wishlist goes, I'm only really asking for a Graphire pen tablet and a Wii. Maybe a couple of games.

Christmas is when I plan on coming out of the closet and introducing my boyfriend Brad to all my relatives.

Just kidding! But I could just imagine how my family would react...

They wouldn't, for a while. Then they'd lynch me. They'd probably tie me to the Christmas tree with tinsel, douse me with their alcoholic drinks, and set me on fire.

This is my second Christmas in a row that I won't be going to the big get together my grandparents have. Last year was because of my work, this year it's because of my sister's work and possibly my work.

So I'll just be at home with my parents and sister, enjoying the cold weather, the gifts I receive and of course Christmas dinner.

As I get older, the likely-hood of money as a present increases. Thus I will be getting money that I will probably blow on a 360 and Galaxy.

And I'm strangely looking forward to the Jack In The Box Eggnog Shake. It sounds gross, but I love it.

i have to abide by their christmas break rules, not the schools...so i only get the day before and the day after christmas off....GAYYY

but yeah i usually go to my grandparents after i open up presents by myself on christmas day and spend time with the fam, eat some good food and hopefully watch the christmas day NBA game

What? You don't get off Christmas Day? Or did you just leave that out of your list of days off?

My mom is new at her job, so she's going to have to work on either Thanksgiving or Christmas; I can't remember which.

ok this this might be weird but since i was a kid. my family and relatives celebrate christmas eve having fun and celebrating. and on midnight we all open our gifts as a family taking turns with the youngest first to the oldest. so yeah same thing this year i guess but now i've been in the old crew for a while. idk if that is weird but does anybody else do this midnight thing on christmas. it usually lasts forever cause of all the relatives. so on actual christmas day we don't do anything special.

for this year i don't really care what i receive. i guess money for i could buy more clothe and anime. whatever leftover for games. maybe. i don't play as much as i used to.

YES! I want Guitar Hero, and Guinness Book 2008, and a new bowling ball, and a larger jumpdrive, and... that's about it. Since I was probably 10, my list has been steadily declining in things that I truly want. Those four things are about it. I have about five other things on my list, but I could still live without them more easily then the above four.

I'm sure by the time I'm 18 I'll probably truly want maybe 1-2 things, which is a shame because free stuff is always fine for me. I just don't have the same craving to just simply want something to just have it...

I'm not visiting anywhere special either; I'll be staying in boring, hot, stinky Florida :(

Thanks for ruining my christmas again, Sakurai...

Christmas with my family is fun. We usually wait till we wake up and open our presents then we go to my grandmother's house and get our presents there. No special dinner or anything. Since my sister is getting the wii for her Christmas present, along with other things, I'm planning on getting either money(to buy Tales of Destiny Remake) or some games I've failed to get. XD

I'm hoping for a camera this Christmas, a Digital EOS Rebel to be precise, but it's a bit too expensive a gift than I could receive comfortably.

Also, Arrested Development is freaking awesome, commonyoshi. Good gift.

I enjoyed Arrested Development. Hilarious show. I am REALLY enjoying Curb Your Enthusiasm, though.
