Chozo Fashion--Favorite Metroid Suits

Not talking about just recolors, and while defensive benefits are important, this one is strictly fashion.

Which one of Samus Suits do you find the coolest looking??
Which one do you think is absolutely dreadful??
And which one do you think looks just plain lazy??
Any other opinions??

personally i like th streamlined look of the light suit, and while i find the dark suit bulky, you have to admit it is imposing. Fusion suit is a mixed bag as to me it always made her "upper torso" look a little odd. that's just me.

and the hazard and ped suit look like saturday morning megaman cartoons

I love the classic giant shoulders look. Of the suits with that design, my two favorites are the Varia Suit and the Phazon Suit. The Gravity Suit is all right, but I'm not the biggest fan of purple/pink.

The Fusion suit is okay. I'm not a big fan, but it's not terrible. I really like the Fusion Suit color scheme with Varia Suit-style structure in Brawl, though.

I think the Dark Suit and Light Suit are absolutely disgusting. The Dark Suit has those hideous tire/wheel shoulders, and the Light Suit has a really bad chest area, what with the holes and such. And the fact that she looks like a black male through her visor doesn't really help either.

I haven't seen much of the suits in Prime 3, but the Hazard Suit looks pretty cool (it's the kind of glowy blue one, right?). The PED Suit... if I remember reading correctly, it changes colors as Samus becomes more corrupted. I haven't seen the various colors, but from the image on Wikitroid, it doesn't look like anything special - just a plain, forgettable suit with dull colors and too much of a military look (I can't really describe why I think of it as military, but I do).

Are there any suits I'm forgetting?

Dark Suit was okay, kind of an industrial look. Best one is the Varia Suit of course (and its recolors i.e. Gravity-which I use for Smash often, Phazon). Fusion Suit was way too much of a departure for me.

Light suit is a fan favorite for me, such with the spiral morph ball design. I like the dark suit's gritty, warped take on the original Varia. Love the Varia. Don't much like the fusion. HATE the normal power suit (No puffy shoulders?!) Gravity was too much the same, Phazon was neat looking...Anything else? Oh Yeah, I DO like the PED suit, the militaristic, geometrical design complements Samus's serious nature, hazard suit was lazy...

i dunno why but when i see samus in her normal power suit, i think theres like an army of chozo warriors and that the normal power suit version is like the basic scout like, the bare minimums

Rook - Varia Suit/Gravity Suit(Because there's no real visual change just a different color... sorta lame)
Bishop - Light Suit
Knight - Dark Suit
King - Phazon Suit/After seeing other pic of supposedly Corrupt P.E.D. Suit (Gray Fox Pwnz) It earns my respect

I really know nothing bout suits in MP3, but...

Power suit, ew.
Varia suit, awesome.
Gravity suit, laziest thing they have ever done.
Light suit, pimp suit. wtf.
Dark suit, would be the best thing to ever happen to brawl. I know it looks disgusting, but that's why I want it in =D

^Gravity Suit wasn't the laziest thing Nintendo has ever done, THAT award belongs to inserting Light and Dark Realms into their games.

nah i have to agree gravity was pretty lazy as it simply added purple to varia

light and dark elements might have been lazy, but at least it took more than like 10 seconds to create lol

PED Suit = Gray Fox Colors = Epic Win

the Phazon and Light suits are definitely my favorite. i use the Gravity suit when I play melee since there really isn't anything else, other than the original and regular Varia suits.

the PED w/Hazard Shield is probably my least favorite suit. it's too boxy, imo.

also the Fusion Varia suit is kinda lame. the regular Fusion suit is cool because of the color scheme, but once you get your Varia ability back you just have a weird knock-off of your classic colors.

I like Gravity Suit the most. No actual changes, except for the color and shine on the suit, and it fits Samus more than the original power suit. I only prefer it a tiny bit above the normal Varia suit. I can stand the phazon, dark, and hazard suit, but the rest is all like "eww".

my thoughts exactly on the fusion; nice maybe in the picture of the game opening but after a while you feel bleach wonderful color scheme and it would just make the regular gravity suit better in some ways

blue and yellow nice
green and purple an ok change
but classic blech

the varia suit is always nice but in super metroid the gravity suit is like...wtf?? you just made her purple and yellow which is a nice color but thats not much of a change in appearance. now if they had used perhaps the purple and green thats something new lol

By far, my favorite is the Phazon suit, followed by the Corrupted PED with Hazard upgrade. Then is the Gravity from Super Metroid, and then the Varia. Uncorrupted PED is next, followed by Dark Suit, Power suit, and least favorite is Light suit. I was disappointed that I played all the way through MP2 just to get that silly power suit upgrade.

Samus Gravity Suit style is my main.

Is it possible for someone to post pictures of all the suits. I would love to comment, but have only played MP3. Though the PED suit lacks color, and the hypermode suit looks very bulky, but it has a nice blue.

My favorite suit of all time was probably the phazon suit from the original MP...in brawl my fav is the fusion suit...I was dissapointed with MP2 and MP3s suits too...(retro studios focused too much on making the game noob friendly...)

Thank you VERY much for posting these pictures Solo Assas1n. It makes judging all the more easier.

Well, the Varia suit is the one I find best, espicially when polished. It reminds me of a more refined power suit. I also like the light suit very much. It has very nice curves. I hate how the fusion suit looks, the color choice is UGH! I like PED's shape, but not the color, as it seems a little dull. The dark suit looks like chocolate, and is in a weird shape.

Are you sure it's dark suit? A lot of people have also said it was the Phazon Suit, so which of the two is it?

I believe that is her Phazon Suit.
The Dark Suit has more silver plating on it and is a more bronze colour.
I would really love her Light Suit to make the cut. That'd be sweetness.

Okay, I've immersed myself in Metroid more since I've last posted. Since then, completed Prime 3 and gotten interested in Prime 2...

My order of preference at this point in time:

1. Varia/Phazon Suit. Classic look is best, and it's complemented in these two suits by brilliant color schemes. My favorite appearance for the Varia Suit is in Prime, though, I should note. In Prime 2 and 3 it just looked... worse. It was more pale like the Power Suit (especially in Echoes), and the shoulder pads appeared much more awkward and unnatural. The luster also seemed weaker.
2. Metroid Prime's purple Gravity Suit. Still a fantastic color scheme, but not quite as good as Varia/Phazon.
3. Dark Suit. Its style is growing on me... And, like with the Phazon Suit, orange visor looks great. Pretty good shade of brown, and I'm disliking the shoulders less.
4. Fully corrupted PED/Hazard Suit. It's a nice, glowing blue, and the style is pretty good.
5. Super Metroid's pink Gravity Suit. It's an okay color, but not my favorite... Same classic shape as the Varia Suit, though, so that's a plus.

Okay, 1-5 are all fairly close to their adjacent suits, but there's a large gap here in how much I like the above suits versus the below suits.

6. Light Suit. It's not very attractive. White is definitely not Samus's color. I don't like the holes in the chest area, and the shoulders are just... ew for some reason.
7. Lowly/not corrupted PED Suit. The gray-to-orange contrast is pretty ugly, and the shoulder pads look like metal Puffer enemies. It just feels like a dumbed down Varia Suit.
8. Fusion Suit and its various colors. I just dislike its appearance as a whole. Everything about it is ugly. The Fusion Suit color scheme as Samus's alternate costume in Brawl, however, looks pretty good.

And Power Suit goes somewhere in there, but I don't know where.
