marth tho is hella hard to combo with. yeah is said it.

his sword is so big that every attack has like 2/3 different hitbox/hitstuns on them (making combo's extremely hard to do because spacing is THAT much more important to your gameplay, but if you're using almost any other character, you just have to follow DI and not really have to space yourself well when you attack)

think about this now. mango has beaten m2k, pc, shiz, chu, cort, etc. pretty much all of their amazing players.
(i know shiz isn't EC but i don't care)
i think he's the best, right now.
the problem is, mango is one person.
zhu, jeff, lucky, lunin and paul are arguably the next tier below mango for california

zhu/lucky/pink shinobi are like 5 tiers below mango
lunin and jeff are like 1 tier belowzhu/lucky/pink

all i'm saying is that WC has proven to have one great, they have like 8. haha

you're forgetting about ken! he was one of the only 3 people to be able to claim "best in the world" (at one point in time)

i mean they dont call him the king of smash for no reason.

when you reach a godly type level of smash, such as ken/mango/m2k/chu/azen/shiz/isai your skill never really deteriorates. its stuck in your head. its kind of like learning a language or riding a bike; you just dont forget it. you may get rusty, but with a bit of practice you can re-learn it so fast.

i just came back from an iphone game testing in san francisco
basically we played this really awesome tower defense game on an iphone for an hour, and then we took a survey about the game

the survey asks you basic questions like "on a scale of 1-10, where would you rate this game overall. what about its controls? graphics? audio? anything you would like to add to this game?"

and at the end, they gave us all 50$ each for giving them our input. the cool thing is, all of our input is gonna be inserted into the final product of this game

the game is coming out on iphone app store, its called star defense. BUY IT! (when it comes out)

but uhm, yeah with that 50$, i can take a bus to modesto to smash with you guys if you like (please let me come, i love you guys) :] 209 ftw

The thing about marth, though, is that if you have a fast enough reaction time, there is almost always a followup for each of the different hitboxes and hitstuns. But I definitely agree that spacing is a BUTTLOAD more important with marth compared to most characters.

melee is a pretty cool game, lent is an admirable exercise in self-restraint. and one of the most difficult characters for a noob to play is falcon imo just because of the techskill and reading you have to do to start combos.
