The closest thing you'll get to 'results' is on the first page/first post, near the bottom. Since they never considered this a poll (it's more of a mail bag), they never tallied any results.

I know how appereciative the Japanese are of classics, but several of those are really pushing the limits. Why don't we have the ocarina of time as a character in Brawl?

You have to realize that not all the suggestions were serious, and were posted for entertainment purposes. And the ones posted are certainly not all of the ideas they recieved.

They suggested James Bond in Japan? Is James Bond popular in Japan too?...weird...Goldeneye was like the Halo of the N64 for sure. I wouldn't want him in Brawl but, its no even possible.

WAIT! Say what am I reading this right, theres no Sonic HoWHAAAA!? I dont much care for him but that surprises me.

No Skull Kid!? I shall replace Bowser Jr with Skull Kid imdeiatly on my sig.

P.S. (who else think the new James Bond looks like...well, not James Bondish?)

Has everyone still forgotten that Takamaru has 3 letters in the poll, better than most? I'm pretty sure we already made a list of "top vote getters," and the one you posted, eXShadow, doesn't include everybody. I commend the effort, but eh... there's another one in this topic already.

And I don't know if this was brought up, but Sonic DOES have a letter in the poll. It was either here or on Gamefaqs that somebody caught it. And both Sakurai and Shiggy admitted he was the top vote getter by far, thereby proving that this isn't every single letter he got, just the more interesting ones.

I say Dedede to replace the Ice Climbers. His movements are actually pretty similar. The ones I most agree with are Ike and Geno. I also want Isaac. (golden sun Isaac)

Oh, no, I hope not! I love the Ice Climbers!

Besides, Dedede has other abilities that can seperate him fromthe Ice Climbers.

You're joking, right? The only similarity between De3 and the IC's is that they both have mallets. De3 doesn't have ice powers or another person to belay with. That's like saying Ike should replace Link since they both have swords.

Sakurai's "Poll" was really more of a survey, and that list was derived from just a small selection of millions of letters sent to him, some chosen randomly and some he personally liked - more because he enjoyed the letter's content than for the idea actually being proposed. I don't think we could reasonably expect Link's Uncle or the Blue Virus to make the cut, now can we? Also, notice that Sonic didn't make the list either and he's practically a given at this point...

It should also be noted that Sakurai presented 300 letters and that even the most mentioned characters were mentioned only 5 times at most, which is really statistically insignificant.

They both have mallets, and the way they move, not their abilities. But he could copy the Ice Dragon's "Ice Block" Ability. Since Dedede is a character from Hal, the Ice Climber's attack style was somewhat modeled after, maybe by accident, Dedede's attacks from Kirby games. Or maybe I'm crazy!:confused: :psycho: :p :dizzy: :lick:

Link's Uncle or Blue Virus got NO and I mean NO chance. I don't know a lot of characters, but I still say GO Geno and Mallow! And of course The Wind Waker Link, and all others on my signature (only if they aren't clones, otherwise screw them)! Sonic didn't make the list, and that is a great point. Also, has Sakurai had one here in America and the rest of North America or Europe? No! We would see a huge diffrence, considering half that list is Japan only. Plus 25%-75% Japan only's=me confused! Why so many Japan only's we don't know?

Plus only a select few=not a poll but a random survey more or less. Europe and North America hopefully will have a poll as oppose to a random survey. I can see this happening, considering SSBM was a worldwide success and is the GC's #1 seller.

5's: King Dedede: No more lack of characters

4's: Diddy=my fav Kong! DK needs some more rep!
Geno: Looks sweet, and I bet USA polls would have him & Diddy up here too.
Ike: Ike and Marth, as well possibly Hector are most likely gonna be in SSBB.
Ridley: Probably in if Dark Samus doesn't make the cut. If Dark Samus is in it, he still has a great shot, but if SA-X or anothe Metroid character beats him, his chances are gone.

3's: Captain Olimar & Pikmin: If it works well, then I want it. I sorta skeptical about this one
Krystal: Most likely in SSBB, just for extra female characters, and she's Fox's love affair!
Takamaru: Hevily doubt him=only popular in Japan really, but he is classic. Still, Not likely.
Wind Waker Link: I bet he's in just because his sword moves and arsenal is diffrent, plus is loved on a global scale, and his game was a huge success.

2's: Claus & Kawasima=no!
Demiru looks wierd...scary wierd!
Isaac: He owns all! Felix does too, of course!
Jeff=SSBB with 2 Mother characters, intresting!
King K.Rool: another sweet villian!
Lip: I know who she is, but I'm not sure about this one. Lip's Stick was an item, though.
Lucas: I dunno, Mother 3 was successful in Japan. Not entirely sure.
Mega Man: If Capcom wants him in SSBB, he's in! Oguma: I bet he's not in just because there are more heavily desired Fire Emblem characters.
Ouendan: okay....no! Sukapon: NO!

How many Japan only characters do people in Japan want to be in SSBB? Either they have better characters, or want to confuse us all, or like diffrent types of characters lol! I know as much about a lot of these wierd Japna only characters (Claus!), as Tom Cruise knows about being a doctor! Nothing! :chuckle:

O and King Dedede does not have anything in common with the Ice Climbers other than his mallet! Ever played a Kirby game? No way that gonna happen Falco_Phoenix! O and go Hector! I swear I learned a lot from that Fire Emblem character thread. Go more DK characters, especially Diddy and Dixie, maybe K Rool! Ganon and Wolf Link w/t Midna would also be a neat adittion to completely change the normal character formula=awsome!:)

i've had to buy ssbm 3 times it keeps breaking on me. on topic though, there only needs to be one japan only character and that is stafy
