• Matches containing seeded or Power Ranked players may be added without following the 'rules' for the rest. As they are expected to be matches from the top of the metagame and with the best players. Hence being except from the restraints of "top matches"
• Check second post for tournament results used.
• Largest rule of all: Tournament Results must be from Spring of 2009 (March 1st) or later -- any earlier results will be disregarded for this list. [I plan to update either on a seasonal basis, or maybe even a yearly basis to show how many wins/losses per year)
• Tournament must have at least 15 entrants. (Yeah, I lowered it by 10 :| sue me)
• Low Tier Tournaments are counted. (This gives the lower tiers a chance to do their matchups)
• Only the following rounds count:

• Posting videos helps prove data is legit
• You must post the link to the tournament if you can. (eg: If there isn't one, you can't)
• If I find anyone trying to submit false data, any data you submit will be ignored for future cases. This is simply to find interesting data that may or may not be useful.
• This is now updated using a Java program (<3 Shaya) if you would like to see the sources, I can distribute the folder to you upon request.

• Organized first by Tier, then by following characters.
• A lower tier matchup will be found in the higher tier. (EG: All Ganon matchups will be found in the opponents section because Ganon is the lower tier.) This is to remove all "doubles" and me having to update a ton.
• To find a matchup, you must know the tier list pretty well or guess.
• Some matchups may have never even been played in the top 8. That's just too bad. Other matchups will have been played a lot (EG: MK vs Snake) and therefore will have more data.

I'd perhaps be happy to oblige, if you'd like to set out how you'd have your "data files" be arranged.

Plus is the sources list thing going to be ever growing? it could get ever so large...

I am thinking of just putting the sources at the bottom. But I do feel they are necessary somewhere in the thread.

Also considering I don't know any programming languages. (Ok, I know Ruby a bit) I couldn't code anything. I also don't think outside of maybe being able to select (from a drop down) x char -vs- y char (wins go here) (losses go here) in entry tables.

It would then add to the next open line (I can open a .txt or save over it) for that grouping, but how would I call the characters?

Im just worried because its 1369 match ups that you have to update ALL the time, and missing info due to being absent can throw the whole thing off...

And to solve the problem of finding the characters... press Ctrl F... this works because you put all the characters chart titles in all caps [yay! Brilliant!]

Just remember to have the "Match case" turned on.

I think it was lack of participants unfortunately that caused it to go under.

That counts for another matchup . This is char. matchups, no matter what its always x char. vs y char.

eg:

MK vs Snake - r1 (counts for MK vs Snake)
Falco vs Snake - r2 (counts for Falco vs Snake)

Problem is that if some characters are kept for their cping value only in an outrageous type of way, like lets say someone only using Falco as a counterpick on Jungle Japes there tends to be a skew towards such things.

However, Brawl tournament stages are getting more refined over time, a lot of tournaments are going mostly by base neutrals only (plus non-outrageous cps), which is good for this list; the effect may be seen now, but probably less so as time goes on.
