Okay, I'm going to jump back on the topic of King K. Rool, and while the Kremlings are still a big deal regarding K. Rool's fate. We all heard the arguments in both ways, so let me introduce another one:
Okay, we can easily establish very early on that just because the Kremlings are in Smash Run does not mean that King K. Rool is playable, and that for all we know, they could just be common enemies in Smash Run. And while their presence does hint that he too may have a role in the game, we also know they can exist without him. Now in a game like Smash where we are talking about Nintendo's history, having the Kremlings but not K. Rool is just plain absurd--even if their trophies and roles are limited only to the 3DS version. So chances are very high (not necessarily guaranteed) that at the very least, we'll get some representation from him in the next game.
With that said, I have sifted through countless explanations supporting Ridley being playable in spite of being "confirmed" as a "stage hazard." The fact that Sakurai would tease us like that, and continue to tease us by not showing Pyrosphere in the Wii U demo leads me to believe he isn't just a boss, but is highly likely to be a boss fight. Now while King K. Rool's stance isn't anywhere near as strong as Ridley since the latter's been confirmed to be in the game in some capacity or another, the fact that King K. Rool is still alive months after the Kremlings were first introduced as enemies in Smash Run largely suggests that he is very likely playable.
Now, the circumstances behind King K. Rool are quite different yet again. For all we know, the revealing of the Kremlings may have unintentionally given the wrong impression regarding his playable status, and he is simply slow to disconfirm him (with Ridley, there is absolutely no questioning that he is being withheld from us). If that is the case, we can expect a disconfirmation within the month. By the time we get to the August Direct, and we still have no answers, however, that's when we must start question just what is up with King K. Rool since a game chronicling Nintendo's history would not omit King K. Roll entirely or reduce him to a mere trophy and yet introduce us to the Kremlings. Even if they simply are DK-related enemies.
What am I getting at? He's either an unlockable Assist Trophy, a stage boss that Sakurai simply isn't ready to show, or he's a playable character. Yes, one can apply all that logic to the Tikki enemies as well, and who knows? We might get something pertaining to them as well. But both sets of enemies? A bit too out-of-place to not introduce a classic villain like K. Rool, and recency really doesn't have any factor other than to disconfirm what is too recent.
What does this mean? At the very least, chances are high that King K. Rool will be playing a bigger role this time around that he did in Brawl based on the evidence. And chances are fairly decent--disregarding the dreadful word, "relevant" entirely from any so-called criteria--that the Kremlings, combined with the spacing between when they were revealed and today, may even hint at him being playable. And his chances will only increase the longer we go without any answers until either launch, or Sakurai flat-out confirms or disconfirms him. He may not be Ridley or Mewtwo as far as odds go, but he's not entirely out of the question, either, and is looking better with each passing day.
That's my two cents on King K. Rool. What do I think? He's still a bit of a stretch, but again, as far as hints regarding playable status goes, he, Shulk, and possibly Dark Pit are about as far as I'll go when it comes to hints and character probability. Anything less concrete like with Isaac, I'm staying away with a ten-foot pole for the time being.
