I am of the opinion that many franchises in Brawl are perfect the way they are, and additional characters would be for uniqueness and popularity, rather than relevance or promotional value.

I think Brawl missed a few (Mewtwo foremost, among others), but yeah, Brawl had a pretty encompassing roster. Which is why cuts in SSB4 would be an unfortunate affair indeed.

I wouldn't mind more Toon representation, I suppose there is precedent to support that notion. Although, again, Tingle would be my pick (predominately utilizing his Wind Waker design). But I wouldn't mind Vaati at all, and Tetra is a much better choice than Toon Zelda/Toon Sheik.

I honestly believe cuts to be necessary evil. Something that, fortunately for you, Sakurai doesn't seem to agree with.

When it comes to Zelda if we were to get anything fresh to the stable of characters then I would vote definitely in favor of Ghirahim, a lot of move potential and his Final Smash he could turn into Demise's Sword and he could come out of nowhere and just destroy everyone on screen.

Though I would want to see Ganondorf become Toon Ganondorf, always liked that design a lot more, plus with his dual swords that would be neat to take control of.

That is what assist trophies are for... obviously exceptions must be made, but it is difficult to discern where it is acceptable. For instance, I do not believe that Game and Watch was necessary for Brawl and I do not believe that R.O.B (and by extension Game and Watch) is necessary for Smash 4 (I understand why they are in the game, I understand why they will not be omitted, that doesn't change my opinion though).

For the record, I also don't see a Zelda Newcomer as an essential addition, since the Brawl Zelda roster was pretty much complete. But if we are to get one, I'd prefer Ghirahim for various reasons (mostly subjective), even though I recognize that other contenders are more probable in principle.

All I'm waiting for is confirmation for Ganondorf. I need my Gerudo King.

I get what you're saying there. We do have THE main characters from the series in the form of Link, Zelda, and Ganondorf. It's not entirely necessary to add any characters past that. However, you could also argue that the Mario series was complete as early as Melee with Mario, Luigi, Peach and Bowser. We certainly didn't need Rosalina, but she is an important, recurring, and fairly popular character that does bring something new to the Smash environment. So it is quite possible that we may see a Zelda newcomer, even if it isn't essential, per se. It could go either way, and either way works.

If that were to happen, my choice would be Tetra, which would complete the Toon side of the Zelda series with both Toon Link and Toon Zelda present, although Toon Zelda would be in a form that would make her more unique as a character.

We got someone we actually expected!

All of our troubles are truly trivial in the end, if one of us completely 100% predicts the roster, who's gonna care? It's not like they'll become a folk hero. I say we should just say we like characters and stick to it.

I'd write songs about the man who predicted Wii Fit Trainer AND Rosalina. Truly he is the chosen one.

But yes, obviously all of this is very subjective and it's hard to suggest any series is truly ever complete as long as popular characters remain left to be added from it.

From Mario I'd say once we got Toad, Bowser Jr. and Waluigi I'd consider it complete, but others may argue for Paper Mario, Doc, Geno, Daisy, King Boo and Fawful.

I love the series, I just don't really feel as though the series needs another character either. I mean, I am a King K. Rool fan, but I am not really excited about the notion of him in Smash. Dixie Kong is okay, I just don't feel as though she offers anything entirely unique. Cranky Kong is cool though.

Meowth is just one of the few Pokemon I'd consider an All Star amongst the 700+ now. Yes, the anime counts for a lot of it(like 15+ years now hasn't it been? He deserves it if only for his dedication to promote the games), but most know of Meowth as a result. Also I imagine he'd be super speedy with claw strikes and maybe some sneaky attacks...if we could have a Mecha Meowth Final Smash...well, it'd be a dream basically. A pipe dream, but a dream anyway.

Porky for me is superior because he covers both Mother 2 and Mother 3. Yes, this is the main reason...also because he's not another psychic kid. I can see the reasoning behind Ninten; completion, but I'm not sure if the striking similarity to Ness would bode well for me personally. Also he'd almost definitely have a clone-semi clone moveset.

Isabelle for New Leaf. Or Nook if we want nostalgia. I'd be cool with both.

Yes, I genuinely got confused. I really don't want anyone else from Ice Climbers, G+W, Gyromite or Metal Gear. I'm in two minds about Sonic, as unpopular as that opinion will be...I just can't get past my nostalgia for Tails(first video game character I ever played as). But, yeah Rayman!

From Doctor Who. There was a Doctor Who game on DS, and one on Wii. He totally counts as a third party. Ones that are from series already in Smash, no Retro, and Big Boss for third party.

Toad, Syrup, Goroh, Vaati AND likes Sabrina. KingShadow's a pretty cool guy, all my respects. Makes me regret that tense moment we had months back about Shadow the Hedgehog now.

Those are pretty much the only franchises I care about.

I like the ones I took out, but not so much the rest. Pokey is good though sort of, just prefer if Mother 1 got some attention.

Pokemon - Sylveon (a 6th generation rep would be great. Especially one that can show off the first new type addition since Gen 2)
Mother - Paula (or maybe Kumatora)
F-Zero - Samurai Goroh
