I think Toon Zelda or Tetra would be my most loathed character.

I would be down with Ganon, Ghirahim, or Tingle. But I most wish for Ganondorf to graduate to original character and out of Semi-clone status.

The ONLY problem I found with Ganon is that I can't think of any Final Smashes for neither Ganon nor Ganondorf. Ganondorf's previous Final Smash was turning into his ultimate form, so how could Ganon have an even more ultimate attack? And without transformations, what could Ganondorf do?
As others have suggested, Ganondorf could ride his demonic horse and shoot magic. Or alternatively, he could use the "waves of darkness" from Ocarina of Time.
As for Ganon, I think the Dark World would be great. He would corrupt the whole stage, turning the sky red and colors dark. Then a horde of demonic monsters would start appearing everywhere, similar to Dedede's FS.

Personally, I think the only Zelda newcomer I'd be ok with is either Toon Zelda or Tetra
Honestly, I don't see Toon Zelda as the thing that I thought kept her going, got killed in the direct.
And if she was going to be a standalone character, one of her more likely moves got taken by original Zelda.
Tetra I wouldn't mind as she could a have pirate inspired moveset. Though, three Zeldas would be overwhelming.

Personally, I would cut Toon Link, and if we must have another Zelda rep I would go Wolf Link and Midna(as one character). But of course Toon Link is already here and Midna is an Assist Trophy.

Edit:
Ganondorf should use Magic attacks and his sword as well.

I personally think that arguing three Zelda's against Tetra may be a bit of a stretch.

I mean most non Nintendo fans won't even know that they are all Princess Zeldas. Also, the moveset would probably be worth it.

I'd never thought of it, but blue pig Ganon would be super awesome.

Barring that, Ghirahim seems likely, but I'd prefer Vaati. Shia from Hyrule Warriors could be cool too, but I doubt that game will be significant enough to advertise in Smash like that, and besides Shia is reeeally sexual for a Smash game (or a Zelda game for that matter).

It's kinda nice to hear some people are liking the idea of Ganon lately. :) (Though I guess that may have been due to the transformation separation news but ah well.)

Eh as a potential last minute semi clone, I don't think that's really much of an issue for her....
I wouldn't mind that actually if she was a last minute semi-clone but it would definitely be underwhelming in terms of a Zelda rep.

I wouldn't say it would count against her inclusion. It would just personally bug me that there would be THREE Zeldas in the roster.

I would love a Ganondorf with a sword to use.

I would truly feel like a King :troll:

See I don't get the complaints about more sword users, when there's also all the requests for Dorf to use a sword.

Most people like the idea of Ganon :dr^_^:, but... even if they like him doesn't mean that's who they want, there are many people here that want Ghirahim or Vaati but will be OK with Ganon:drshrug:

That's really the most likely thing that will be for her, really. Assuming Sakurai wants to get back to some unused ideas. Which from the new Kirby side special and the just today revealed character threat/warning beacon (Two things he sorta kinda planned for Brawl), it does look like it.

If she's a last minute addition then I assume Sakurai still had no plans to include any Zelda newcomers I guess.

Hence why I said, liking the idea of Ganon, I didn't imply that they are all supporting him. ;)

This is exactly how I feel, as long as the added sword user is unique and "fresh" I wouldn't see an issue with having half the roster as sword users.
I don't know, maybe some people are just devout swordists. (yay bad puns)

If Ganon doesn't get in, I'd like de-cloned ganondorf to use a trident.

Ganon turning the stage into a Dark Version and all the characters into rabbits (but having their main feature such as a rabbit with a Link tunic or a rabbit with a Bowser shell) would be amazing. The rabbits could only double jump, dodge and run but are really light weight. Ganon could send them flying.

I really want a LOZ villain in smash that isn't a clone. Ghirahin, Vaati, Ganon, I'll accept any of them with open arms!

I'll be that guy and say that Akuma Demise would be cool.
But Vaati gets my vote.

Eh, I'll try and change the Ganondorf subject,
I want to express my opinion about a veteran character, Mario. Am I the only one that would like to see some major changes done to him?
  • I find it strange that a recurring object such as his hammer, hasn't been implemented into his moveset.
  • His Up-Special could be buffed with the Wing Cap or Cape.
  • FLUDD should change nozzles like in Sunshine.
  • Mario could potentially use the Ice Flower, which could result in the first freezing projectile. Well, Ice Climbers kind of has one.
  • Down-Air could be his famous Ground Pound that appears in almost every game.
  • I don't even know where to start with his Final Smash, at least be from a game geez.
Anyway, those are just some of my opinions. I would really like to see some major buffs to Mario because he's one of my favorite Nintendo characters. Heck, he's one of my favorite video game characters.

I'd like to see Mario be able to change the nozzles for FLUDD as well. At least the Hover Nozzle for whenever he is in mid air...

The hammer is more Paper Mario's thing. In fact, Paper Mario could probably take a whole bunch of these moves.

Keep Mario as a shoto. Just buff him to actually be good like in 64.

I will agree that Paper Mario would definitely fit the hammer more. I support Paper Mario, in a matter of fact, he's my most wanted since Melee.

Why not implement elements from the series? Isn't that why everyone wants Ganondorf to actually use his sword because he does in the games?

I wouldn't mind Ganondorf staying almost like he is, but Luigified somewhat. At the very least, he needs a projectile attack. He's a warlock, after all; gotta have those energy balls.

Yeah, down+B in the air really should be the hover nozzle.

Well it's a good thing he already does have moves from his series.

I agree that he could use some changes, but I don't think all of them would work out too well. He only really uses the hammer in the RPG games, like Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi. He never uses Hammers in any of the Super Mario main games, unless you count the Hammer Suit, I guess. And I don't think he should use a Ground Pound. Yoshi is the one that Ground Pounding originated from with Yoshi's Island in the SNES, I believe. So it makes sense that he would use it instead of anyone else. Plus, I don't wanna see Yoshi, Bowser, and Mario with dive bombing down specials (but that's just my opinion). His Final Smash did bother me a lot though, cuz it just seems really random to look flashy but isn't even that good. I was honestly really surprised they didn't change FLUDD to be his Spinning thingy from the Galaxy games. Then again, it would look like the old Mario Tornado anyway, so meh. They really should implement some of the cool Power-Ups he always uses though, I'm not really sure how though.

EDIT: Now that I think about it, the FLUDD being able to be changed to the Rocket Nozzle would be kinda cool for a recovery. Hover would probably be better, I just liked the Rocket one a lot from Sunshine.

I'm all for FLUDD functioning as a multistance mechanic but Mario shouldn't be anywhere near unnecessarily complex.

He was designed to be an easy pick up and play character for everyone. Just like his games. His moveset is perfectly fine.

I doubt making some changes will confuse people. He can still be an easy character to use, just has more tools to work with.

Here's my thoughts on Ganondorf's special moves:

•Up B needs to change to something else, no ideas what to though
•Side B is fine actually, keep it same as Brawl, it reminds me of things he's done in Zelda games
•Neutral B needs to change for sure. Probably to a non-chargeable easily reflect able large energy ball like in his and/or phantom Gannon's boss battles
•Down B could use a change but it isn't necessary. Maybe just tweak it more.

Also, he doesn't need an overhaul otherwise, just give him something like a sword to extend the reach of his attacks.

I hadn't even thought about it before but now it's going to really annoy me that Mario doesn't have the ground pound for his Dair. I imagine it functioning similarly to Link's Dair.

I always thought that Mario should have every movement mechanic to really solidify him as mario-of-all-trades.

A crawl, a glide with his cape, even a wall cling but make him slowly slide downwards.

Now that you mention it, giving him a cape glide would be pretty cool. It makes sense giving him a better recovery considering he is Jump Man. Now if only Luigi's up special was the Poltergust balloon from Dark Moon.

Prediction Roster Roster.png

Here is my roster, which displeases even me. With boring choices like Takamaru and Palutena, it's not all that great, unique, or whatnot, until you see the small rectangle of DLC.

These are the figurines that are going to be released along with Mario, Link, Kirby, Fox, Pikachu, Samus, Pit, Yoshi and Little Mac. They are DLC characters, while the figurines for vets unlock new moves and a costume, Boomerang Suit for Mario, Skyloft Pajamas for Link, etc. The figs are released in packs of 2, Bowser Jr. and Medusa in Villains pack, Dixie and Bandana Dee in the Buddies pack, K. K. and Tetra in the Rapscallion pack, and Chrom and Shulk in the Swordsman pack. You can also get them in two groups of four, grouped in the same rows seen above.

Yes. I love the Zelda series but I don't want pig Ganon.. I would way rather have Ghirahim, even if Ganondorf stayed a (semi) clone.

Also, regarding :squirtle::ivysaur:... is everyone's justification for them getting axed because of roster size? We have no idea how big the roster is.. it could be 65 for all we know. (I, in no way, think this is realistic). Ivysaur might not be, but Squirtle is totally iconic.

People aren't counting on them because they assume that Charizard's the only Pokemon out of those three to have survived and the fact that we haven't seen them in Greninja's trailer. Also, Pokemon roster spaces and Greninja supposedly "replacing" Squirtle are also reasons that contribute to this mentality.

I'd say Squirtle is more iconic than Jigglypuff.
