Except that there is an actual possibility it could have been an alt costume, not saying it is true but you are not giving any real reason of why can't a character who was about to get picked can't have an alt costumeI edited my argument to respond to that.

Not to mention the box its in has a blue border. If you notice the one with marth, marth has a red border and the player slot has a slight red tint. The picture that possibly has ridley shows a metroid symbol in the player slot and it has a blue-ish tint.

Seriously though, which picture are you looking at? I don't see a sign of it anywhere. There is still nothing to support this leak, and nothing to debunk it.

Taking Sakurai literally is a bad idea. He's a total troll, so his own statements are unreliable.
I made the wrong argument anyway. The square has a blue outline surrounding it, and if you look to the bottom left, you should see a blue Metroid symbol. That proves that whatever character is there, it's a Metroid character.
In the screenshots, Marth's icon is selected by a red P1 icon. In the player slot below, they show a big profile picture of Marth. The color behind him is slightly tinted red and the Fire Emblem sword icon is also red. Now, same thing in the Ridley picture, the player's icon is blue, for P2, and in the slot down below, the profile picture has a blue tint behind it and a blue Metroid logo.
Oh. Well, I don't understand why that is such a big discussion topic for something I was sure is fake; it is immaterial.
Yeah, but it's a minor detail in favor of the picture leaks. The capital letters on Wii Fit Trainer still kinda throw it off for me, but we'll have to see at E3.

In contrast to Marth's red outline, Ridley's blue outline is outside the grey lining.
Because that's just what fake leakers do, they take the shots at ridiculous angles so it's harder to find errors and get people to speculate.
Oh. That I can sort of agree with. But also keep in mind, Smash Bros. games have let you play with the camera angle before on menus. Also, maybe that little box is animated and moves. Just because it's a pixel off doesn't mean it's debunked.
It doesn't need to be a quick snap. I think this is the Best Buy demo, if it's legit.
