This reminds me of a discussion experiment I came up with a while back.

Who would you choose if every represented series in Smash Bros had exactly three or less characters?

Yup. Though not for Fire Emblem, though I am factoring in likelihood as well.

Keep in mind that with Mewtwo, there are two main problems with the character.

His light weight despite his large frame.
His lack of KO options, with many of his killing options having limited range or speed.

Personally I think they should expand on the grapple concept and give Mewtwo better options to kill. However, his tail attacks should at least stay and be expanded on because it gives Mewtwo the much needed reach with his attacks, which is showcased in Project M where his tail attacks allow Mewtwo to attack from a safe distance.

I personally came up with a different idea aside from over-using the tail, and that's the use of pulse and wave-like Short-range projectiles coming out of his normals. Mewtwo's attacks can get a decent amount of range this way, and it fits the fact that he's indeed a Psychic type pokemon. Upping attack power is simple, and pretty deserving, but I think, for balancing sake, the weight can be upped, but not too much. A medium weight would fit him well, especially if he has the tools to cover his weaknesses, which of course are power and decent reach.

Having a great amount of power/launch power and decent reach can be counter-acted by about mediocre speed and a below-average weight for a character his size.

Why exactly d'you expect Meta Knight to get cut? I'm guessing the fact that balancing (or lack thereof) for him was a terrible nightmare back in Brawl, yeah?

I don't necessarily understand this mentality of "if Mario somehow gets a sixth representative," do you not realize that we had five Mario characters in Melee? The second installment of the game. Are you aware of the notion that Mario is Nintendo's poster child, their best-selling series by far (unless you include console included titles, but even then, Mario has amassed much better sales from the franchise overall). I mean, its prominence and prevalence to Nintendo is easily observable, very overt. This is also reflective in Smash, unlike certain other franchises. There are still major characters missing, so I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if we got another Mario representative. Doesn't Pokemon have more if we assume Mewtwo and Jigglypuff are the remaining candidates? That is after the cuts as well.

Secondly, King Boo would be a great choice.

Remove Mewtwo's Disable for something else, and have Mewtwo the ability to move characters with Side-B.

That been acknowledged before, I think Sakurai is phasing out the tether recoveries, at least as actual moves.
Though it could be all of them, I don't remember seeing Link's Clawshot.

At this point I would welcome more cuts for more newcomers, because I feel that IF (big if, I know) character DLC happens cut veterans are the likeliest thing to appear.

Although if the Sal leak is correct, the only newcomers I personally want that aren't listed are Ridley and Takamaru. (although I support and would be fine with a lot of other characters, like K. Rool, Isaac, the Duck Hunt Dog, I won't really be upset at all if they don't show up.)

Isn't that what Lucario is?

Though as for changes, I'd like to see him powered up some more, for sure. After that, I'd either make him a little heavier or a little faster to balance out some of his negative attributes. I'd also love to see his psychic powers incorporated into more of his general move set. Being able to attack with psychic energy is something we haven't exactly seen before, and would go a long way in making him unique. Also, do something about that side and down specials. Those were practically useless. Give him something like Psycho Cut, Future Sight, Pressure, Swift... Just anything to make those specials useful.

1.Starters - I personally think there should be less of starters. I would put Palutena,Little Mac,Lucario,Shulk,and Rosalina to the unlockables.

2. Unlockables - Nothing wrong here,seems well put. The mii's being unlocked seems questionable but I could see why.

3. Overall opinion - Everything seems good,but seriously,I don't think Mr.Big Head and the Guy who reminds me of Obama will make the cut.
