Am I the only one that thinks Mewtwo won't come back?

I mean, the Greninja reveal was a huge tease. Also, having 3 pokemon reps with charge ball attacks and Mega-Evo Final Smashes will feel repetitive. There's also a part of me that believes Sakurai doesn't want to add back in anyone that was cut from Melee.

In this case I believe Jiggs now has more priority than Mewtwo, as she has survived through all games and is a fairy now.

Meh not necessarily. Mewtwo can always be changed, and if anything, his neutral special can be changed.

Jiggs is gonna come back regardless. Being in 3 smash iterations I think speaks for itself.

Probably a good bet. I'm gonna be honest for Michaiah supporters: If she wasn't chosen in Brawl, she's unlikely to be chosen now, especially over past FE reps or Awakening reps.

I think if you look deep into it for no apparent reason you could say they did mean something. Pseudo Palutena obviously hinting at Palutena, the King Kihunter for Ridley, Tiki for the FE rep (bets on Chrom or tactian), and maybe Fi for a Skyward Sword newcomer, GROOOOSE ON THE LOOOSE.

Looking deep into things for no apparent reason is how people convince themselves of things that aren't actually there.

You know, Sakurai just keeps picking characters that no one ever really asks for, though they are all pretty unique. Seems like the perfect time to bring back the Happy Mask Salesman. Unique, unexpected, possibly relevant with a potential Majora's Mask 3D/HD reveal at E3, perfect Sakurai move.
And since Sakurai completely skipped the blatantly obvious Skull Kid assist trophy dropping the moon, it could still be a final smash...

Yep. Although I feel like "But Greninja got in!" is going to serve as an excuse for the rest of the speculation period (and potentially for the next game.) Good thing I'm retiring from speculation after this one. Good lord.

Not sure the specificity of the quote is actually relevant at all. With a character with history in multiple FE games, I think the general "from fire emblem" was enough. Chrom can still be in because of relevance.

Greninja existing doesn't change the fact that Mewtwo is the most wanted character in the world.
Ignoring Ridley is one thing, but ignoring the single most wanted character in the world is just being a jerk for the sake of being unpredictable. Especially when, unlike Ridley, Mewtwo has already been playable.
Eh, but what do I know? I thought Ridley was going to playable.

Don't worry, I always misspelled it at first too. I think at this point Chrom, Robin, and Anna are the only ones ahead of her if anyone. And while yes Greninja is a more recent rep, that's Pokemon and the Pokemon Company influencing people. Since the game's roster may have been finalized before Awakening, Intelligent Systems may have not pushed from Chrom to Sakurai as Pokemon Company did before Greninja and his game came out.

Because the labels don't restrict it to two specific games, but two specific series.

But like I said that's Pokemon, they probably ran to Sakurai and said "We need to promote him!!!" so he did it for them. He did that with Roy once for Fire Emblem, I don't think it will happen for Fire Emblem again.

Intelligent Systems doesn't push for characters, they only suggest them once approached by Sakurai. All FE characters on the rosters have come down to the decision of Sakurai and Sakurai alone.

A certain purpink psyclone and a much less desirable fairy type could also both be secret characters!

Oh please. Mewtwo, Lucario and Gekkouga (Greninja) all play differently and what similarities they may have is hardly enough to keep them out.

I also don't see why Sakurai would be hesitant to add Melee characters; Mewtwo and Roy were planned for Brawl after all. I'm betting both will be planned again (though I'm only expecting Mewtwo).

I somewhat doubt they would want to keep Mewtwo secret. He's THE most wanted character. And his chances seem very low at this point. What better way to hype up the game at E3 than to pull a reversal and reveal him?

Jigglypuff can stay hidden though.

Thinking about ways they could change Jiggs up (sort of off topic, but were kind of all over the place today)

One improvement im sure most would not argue with is Change her Up B.

Give her some of that Fairy Wind. It could operate similar to Lucarios up b, only less distance and a bigger hitbox, where she could move in a direction of her choosing. Put Sing as a taunt. No one uses it strategically anyhow, and you could still put people to sleep using it if you REALLY wanted to, similar to someone like say, Luigi, who has a secret hitbox associated with their taunt.

This way, the iconicness of Jigg's Sing is not removed, rather given a new button assignment.
