Honestly the only thing Zoroark really has going for her is potential, even then I don't see how she could be very interesting, at least not in a way that would be relatively easy to implement.

That's what most people did assume Pokken Fighters was, correct? That tech demo with Blaziken & Lucario?
I think it's just better to get another Pokemon Stadium and call it a day.

Yeah I found the interview. It was just to look into what Pokemon might look like in the future.

That was actually a video which was shown at the Pokémon Games Show, an event in Tokyo last month and it was showing the history of Pokémon games as well as the future. It was kind of a concept about what the future of Pokemon may look like…

So no, I don't think it was meant to foreshadow a potential Pokemon fighting game. Although I would love it if they did make one.

Mmm, idk. It's been months since my last time playing Pokemon. As far as smash goes for Pokemon, I don't really see any brawl cuts, and they just might bring back Mewtwo, but idk, that's just me

If we were to get a Pokemon newcomer, my personal choice would be one of the following (in no particular order):

Meowth
Deoxys (Oh, Deoxys, if only there was someone out there who loved you.)
Genesect
Zoroark
Blaziken (honestly is difficult to come up with a moveset that sticks out from falcon, but I bet Sakurai could do it)
Hawlucha

Seeing as how it's very likely we will get a random veteran reveal within the next few days, what kind of impact would certain character reveals have on the chances of potential newcomers? For a random example, if Ike were to be revealed on Friday, what kind of impact would he have on the chances of possible newcomers?

I think that it can have a possible impact.
If we see PT, Mewtwo is up for grabs.
If we see Ike, anything FE related is up.
If we see ZSS, Ridley.
And so on and so forth, but right now I'm thinking Palutena.

Oh, and sometimes Jiggz or the Trainer get cut for a newcomer, which is always either Zoruark or Genesect.

Everyone, if you could have 7 playable Pokémon characters (Trainers and transformations counting as one), who would they be?
Personally, I'd choose The Brawl Roster, Mewtwo, Grovyle, and Pokémon Rival (Blue/Gary Oak).

I say if Ike is revealed, Chrom is soon, especially the first FE game's anniversary coming up.

If Snake is revealed, I don't think it really effects anything.

Aside from at least 3 newcomers at E3 and 2 veterans at some point before and/or after, we've seen the last of pre-release reveals, assuming unlockable characters are still a thing. That would leave us at 30 characters for the starter roster (31/32 if Sheik and Zero Suit Samus are back. Also assuming Mega Man and Sonic are starters, as well as Luigi). That seems like a number that makes sense. I think anymore than that would hint at unlockable characters being a thing of the past.

As for who I think they will be?

Palutena for our next newcomer, possibly before E3 (hopefully really soon).
Professor Layton and Chrom for E3.

As for veterans, Snake, Yoshi, and Ice Climbers are the only ones I see being revealed pre-launch, though not necessarily all of them at once. Maybe Ike, if he returns.

Other than that, any other potential characters are unlockabe.

The reason why I think the above characters will be revealed is because they are ones people have really been looking for all over the world.

This is me assuming there aren't any new Metroid games or F-Zero games coming at E3 or anything like that.

That's not good for anything unless you can actually do, something with it. What's his illusion good for? Fooling the opponent into thinking you're someone else when you clearly picked Zoroark at the start of the fight? Even if there's three or four players and you copy someone else in the hopes of getting someone to chase them instead of you, there's them painfully obvious P1/2/3/4 floating above your head that would instantly make the point of the illusion null. Just mentioning "oh, he can use illusions" isn't uniqueness, that's like saying "oh, Rosalina can use a Luma." It's how something is implemented that makes it unique, not just the thought of something, there needs to be an idea behind it. If someone told you that Rosalina used a Luma, would you have thought of the unique puppeteer moveset, or would you have thought it was just a single attack? Illusions are useless without context, there is nothing unique about nothing.

And this is the part where I explain that transforming is not part of his moveset at all, he uses attacks that fool the people into thinking they are about to be hit. It's a visual tricking play style. Let's say Zoroark shooter two small shadow balls in the air and in the ground, one of the shadow balls is real and the other is fake and does not affect the opponent at all. It would be all about using visuals against the opponent.

Grasping at straws now, what does Zoroark in specific have to do with the graphical improvements or the introduction of triple/rotation battles? You can use any Pokemon in triple battles, not just three Zoroarks, and every Pokemon is effected by the graphics, which is a terrible argument to begin with. The truth of the matter is that Zoroark is just like any other Pokemon now, just because it was in a single movie doesn't give it any priority, plenty of Pokemon have been in movies. Unknown and Entei had a movie centered around them, should they be playable? Deoxys had his own movie, and he'd probably be way more unique than Zoroark, why give him the shaft? Etc and etc.

It was only a general forward argument. If you want specifics, he was the first Pokemon to introduce the 5th generation and the first to star in a movie before Black/White was released (If I can recall) for promotion, so at the very least it is notable enough for consideration of Zoroark. And I know that having a movie doesn't give them benefit, just notability.

Veterans? I can't think of much but here's one thing
When Ganondorf comes back, that's when we can start hoping for Toon Zelda
And I guess that R.O.B. Coming back could also hurt the chances of Prowl coming in

When I mentioned 11 out of 18 types being in Smash Bros. earlier, Shedinja immediately came to mind for filling in two of the missing types. Brawl + Mewtwo leaves Bug, Ghost, Rock, Ground, Dragon, Ice, and Dark.

Pac-Man and Layton would mean 2 third parties.
Pac-Man is bound to be poorly received. Most people watching won't know who Layton is.
Miis are also bound to be poorly received. Nintendo will be heavily criticized.

I'm pretty sure the problem more so has to do with impressions. If you want to make impressions, you got to go big and bold with what the audience wants. If you circle around that, it will lead to criticism. That is a fundamental thing for a game like this, and no amount of execution will substitute that.

We should talk about the Final Smashes for the characters. I'm sure they'll change up a lot of Final Smashes (Except Samus's) so what do you guys think will change?

...Pit?

Note that Pit's Final Smash only uses an image of Paultena in the background, not the actual goddess. While Pit does in fact call upon her in the Final Smash, it could still be possible even with Paultena on the field as a character. Could make for a funny conversation between the two.

"Oh Pit, you're actually asking for my help in order to defeat me? ...Fine, I'll play fair. This is Smash, after all. I'll get the centurions. But don't go expecting me to lie down or go easy on you!"

Keep that in mind in case Sakurai decides to "troll" and post a pic of Pit's old Final Smash.

I've also noticed that the common opinion seems to be that Pit will get something entirely different, while Paultena will inherit Pit's old Final Smash.
